I recently reinstalled the app and found most of my messages to one person is gone. Will that notify to the other person that I left the "chatroom" even though i didnt?

Hi, so I have always had this issue and I am wondering if it's due to having a western version of the app? I can add Korean friends on my KakaoTalk and everything, most of the same functionality is there but the layout isn't quite the same and my QR code looks weird. Anyone know what to do about this?

A few years ago, I was working in the us but my old diabetic cat was living in korea with my sister.

I sent her a package of cat medicine, some of which were in syringe so she could just squeeze in his mouth.

The package was held at inchon and my sister got a msg that she needed to explain what the contents were.

I sent the prescription and receipt to inchon and the package got released.

Meanwhile, I got a starange Korean guy popped up on my KakaoTalk. Mind you, I never write down my real phone number on the packages, immigration paper, etc, always use Talkatone number. But, I DID write down my sisters number on the package tho.

It turned out the korean stranger was a cop in inchon drug unit. My guess is that they suspected the cat medication as drugs and they got into my sister KakaoTalk then through my sisters to mine. It is just a guess because no one ever notified any of us before or after. I don’t know it is legal to get into someone’s KakaoTalk without notice when they investigate such a thing.
But my korean friend once told me that korean companies give out customer information to the authorities like candies. It is illegal to do it most of time without court orders but he said they just do it under the table because they are afraid of them retaliating. I don’t know the truth, but ever since i use KakaoTalk only when I have to. I talk with Whatsapp, Telegram or signal depending what the other party prefer.

For international Kakaotalk users, the twitter link doesn't work BUT you can buy it from your Kakaotalk app on your phone. You can use the link to preview the emoticon set, though. It's US$3.30, and for me, it took Paypal, Google Pay or credit card.

i really hope someone can help me here, i have a fansign on saturday and i just got the message from makestar telling me my time slot n gave me instructions to “register” it by messaging another account

but i’m for some reason unable to message the account? ive added it as a friend but it says i cant message people i haven’t messaged before because of the privacy policy or whatever??

I tried setting up 2FA in the KakaoTalk app but it looks like I have to set up a backup email address. My original mail address doesn’t work for this and my second mail address also doesn’t work.

Anyone has an idea how I could succeed in setting up 2FA?

So I got a new iphone a few days ago and now my messages on kakaotalk stopped updating on it as of today. I tried to send a message to my friend on my phone app for kakao and it just gives me the little airplane being sent but isn't being recieved. I checked my wifi and data and both work. I can send messages on my computer kakaotalk but I cant figure out why the app on my phone is messed up? Does anyone have a solution?
