A list of puns related to "Hospitaller"
So I have a few games played with the sisters of battle now but never fielded a hospitaller, despite having her model stand around for allmost 2 years now. I dont get to play that often, so I do not have a lot of chances for experiments. Other character options seem way more attractive to me. I was thinking about placing her with sacresants and a melee canoness. Does anybody here have experience with the hospitaller and can point out certain tactics or combos to me? I got allmost every sister unit (except for a few named models) and I do like the flavor of every main order, so I am really open to new concepts. Thanks in advance.
Reason why I'm posting: For being the two highest profile religious groups, the Sororitas and Black Templars don't get much time together on screen. There's a lot of nuanced conflict that could go on as well comraderie. Also most people probably have never heard of this story.
Context: Sword Brother Brusc is leading the Ash Wastes Crusade of Armageddon Crusade. Originally 7 Initiates, 2 Neophytes, and himself, they are currently down to 2 Initiates and 2 Neophytes. The Imperial forces are retreating from the Ash Wastes after von Strap's betrayal and the end of the Season of Fire. In doing such, they come across an Imperial Guard field hospital manned by Hospitallers and medicae who have not heard the recall order. He is taken to Sister Rosa, the head of the Hospital by the head of the battalion guarding the place.
>Sister Rosa was a squat, unlovely woman with hard features and grey hair. Her face was blemished with numerous rad-moles. Her pleasure at seeing fellow warriors of the faith was at best guarded, turning soon to outright annoyance when they relayed their message. She stepped away from the dying man, drawing the Space Marines after her as she checked the charts of other soldiers.
>βWe cannot leave,β she said.
>βYou must,β said Brusc. βThis entire sector is collapsing, thanks to the treachery of von Strab. The orks are regrouping, their warbands joining. Their outriders are heading this way.β
>βWe will remain,β she said stubbornly, βuntil the tempest has expended its strength.β She moved onto another bed.
>βSister, this storm will not blow over for several days,β said Brusc.
>βAnd when it does blow over, we shall be ready to depart for Infernus.β
>βYou must leave now. All forces are falling back to Hive Helsreach. When the storm blows over, the orks will be ready to attack. They will destroy you,β said Brusc sharply.
>βCome now, show some respect, she is of a holy order,β said Osric privately. βShe is as marred as you by her service. You do little honour to our order or your title as sword brother.β Publicly, he said, βForgive my brother. We are a choleric breed, more given to attack than consideration.β
>Sister Rosa pressed her lips tightly together.
>βNevertheless,β Brusc continued, with a glance at his ex-pupil, βI am correct. We have orders to fall back ourselves. This is no easy thing for us to do. Every part of our being urges us to go onwards and avenge our losses. But we will not. Considered retreat

In the description of the Sacred Healing ability, "That [Adeptus Ministorum Infantry] model regains up to D3 lost wounds." Almost all Sisters units are only 1 wound; so does this ability revive 1 model, D3 models, or no models? I only see this making sense for arcos which have the potential of having models with 1 of 2 wounds.
Thanks for your help!
Beginning in the early 12th century, the Hospitaller had the purpose of tending to the sick and poor (which Iβm sure was minority of people at the time). A group of crusaders decided one day to found a medical order. Why? Why not. Thatβs one of my favorite things about medieval history, there was never a reason to do the shit they did. And unlike the Templars they still (kinda) they still exist today. And because of the fact that they move headquarters constantly they never really had a near 100% ethnicity. They were mostly German though. So yeah, the Hospitaller were the first weaponized medical group (Iβm starting to see a pattern with all these medieval factions).
Now for the battles I must say that the most interesting is the conquest of Rhoads, which is the first and only entirely Hospitaller campaign.
Siege of Ascalon: You know what happened if you read my Templar post, but I wonβt mention what happened because the Hospitaller didnβt really have a big role despite it being their first recorded battle.
Siege of Jerusalem: the summer before Saladin had laid waste to 3 cities. Just another day for Saladin of course. Balain was pissing his pants at the sight of Saladin so he bargained with him to let the remaining soldier and civilians go. To which Saladin agreed being as kind of a giga-chad as he was. Now if Saladin had the heart of a crusader, it would be a different rundown. He then proceeded to take Acre, Nablus, Jaffa. Toron, Beirut, and Ascalon in that year.
For the finally I introduce the Conquest of Rhodes: 1306-1310 They were led by Grand Master Foulques de Villaret. And took the entirety of Rhodes. Iβm sure the Byzantines were terrified of being beat by support characters. They then planted their base on the island. Why? Because mainly it was in the trade route to Constantinople, and it had very fertile soil. He brought 35 knights and 500 foot soldiers. At the sight of the Hospitallers landing, the Byzantines were warned and prepared themselves. The Hospitaller couldnβt take the city of Rhodes so they literally took everything else. They then came back and offered not to kill everyone if they let them have the city. The Byzantines denied. So the Hospitaller left. End of story? No. This backfired when Villaret returned with reinforcements with 300 knights and 3,000 foot soldiers. Oof.
Anyways thank you all for reading.
Hi everybody,
Could someone give me some more information about the Hospitallers chapter? I have been considering painting them and particularly enjoy the lore and fluff behind various space marines Chapters. I already checked the wikis and YouTube for more information and it is relatively scant. I also read the last duty short story!
Just want to see what else is out there.
Just for shits and giggles
