A list of puns related to "Horror Comics"
I'm open to pretty much all types of horror, I enjoy both the new and old. For instance, my favorite horror movies from this era are A Nightmare on Elm St, followed closely by Scream and Scream 5. For classics, I'd say The Black Cat, The 4-D Man, and The Wolfman. I'm looking forward to reading what you guys recommend. Thanks in advance!
Edit: I completely forgot that I have Hack/Slash Omnibus 1 & 2.
Are you guys into reading horror/thriller comics?
I recently read a thriller one titled Road because it was illustrated by a friend. To my surprise I really liked it and was wondering if there are much more and better such comics? Would liked to explore them.
Initially I expect this to be a 1-3 month job. There's a lot of artwork that needs to be done before we can start our pre-launch. If we have a successful launch it could turn into much more. I have a budget of $20 - $30 per hour, but I'd like to break it down into milestones.
I'd like to start with a "discovery phase". This is where we come up with a basic color palette, basic character sketches, and other important assets. This way we can create a consistent theme or "style" throughout the entire project (website, products, socials, comics, and more).
Ideal Experience:
- Character illustrations
- Map illustrations
- Comic books
- World building
- Creating assets and illustrations for use on websites
- Basic animation skills, GIF level
Here are a couple questions I have, please DM me. Note, the "ideal candidate" doesn't need to be experienced in all of these fields. Don't be discouraged. The ideal candidate is someone who a) has the style I'm looking for and is willing to learn, and b) can share the vision I have for what we're building, and wants to be part of an exciting project!
Bonus: Respond with a loom. Showcase your work, experience, ask questions, etc!
Hello! I'm launching the funding campaign for the third issue of my horror comic "HELLBOUND SLANT 6" in mid-January. I'd like to have a pinup gallery in the deluxe edition, and I'd like to pay you to draw something for my book! Hit me up if you're interested and let's talk details.
Thanks!

Suggestions for Comic Book style Horror
Looking for dark Sci Fi or Horror film. Prefer something lesser known.
Movies that come to mind:
Unbreakable
Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Kick-Ass
Watched an awful version of Doom last night and while I appreciate the lowest of budgets I'd much prefer some nice visuals. My SO is a huge horror fan otherwise I'd just watch the above or sequels but still appreciate lesser know suggestions.
Some of their favorite horror franchises are Evil Dead and Creep show.
TLDR: SO loves horror but I want Comics.
Thoughts?
Iβm looking for dark humor, or horror comedy, or weird humor comic books. I can give one example of what Iβve liked, Conor Stechschulte: The amateurs. https://www.tcj.com/reviews/the-amateurs/
Looking into getting into a new genre of webtoons. Can anybody recommend me some good horror or mystery comics??
I have recently gotten into some decent graphic novels that get very messed up. I just need some recommendations of some comics or artists/authors that fall into this genre.
I grew up on Marvel and was a big fan of Doctor Strange and his battles against Shuma-Gorath. I want to get into DC, and start where I find myself most comfortable and that's in Lovecraftian shit. I tried looking into it but couldn't find anything in particular. Could you point me in a direction to start?
*movie special editions.
I would much rather trade these (see below) but would be open to selling outright much more willing to sell outright locally.
Arkham Horror The Card Game $700 plus shipping
Essentially this includes everything but the newest core set and the newest expansion These is one set of promo cards missing as well. In the photos I have the complete list. Note it is two original cores but only one set of tokens. I have a draw bag, some 3d printed items as well that I will include if the buyer wants them. I will also include the artist case but realize that will exponentially increase shipping. This will not include the books just the promo cards that came in them. Any of the online stuff I have printed will also be included.
Shadows of Brimstone 200 plus shipping
City of Ancients, Swamps of Death, Frontier Town, Custodians of Targa with Pylons Enemy Pack, Outlaw Hero Class As can be seen in the pictures some of these items are painted, they were not painted by me I think they look fine.
Also have a fairly large Battlelore First Edition Collection if someone was interested in I would be willing to take a look at what all is in it and post here.
I would prefer to trade for comics. I would be looking for ASM, Wolverine, Invincible, Fantastic Four, X-men or Captain America, Nightwing or some others.
Would maybe consider a Nintendo Switch, or nice Vinyl Setup.
Board Game wise I need Fomula De tracks 19-20 and 34-35. Also would trade for Heroscape painted Marvel Crisis Protocol figures, or maybe Memoir 44.
I will work with the buyer on getting these shipped in a manner that is as cheap as possible to them while getting the product to them safely.
Check out Bad Space Comics, I think most of you would enjoy it. But fair warning, this particular one has a nasty take on the absence of free will.

I especially like how this seems to vibe with what Sam has said about people getting distressed when he mentions that free will doesn't exist/is an illusion.
I'm open to all forms of horror, weather it be a good ol' slasher or something that really makes you think. Since I'm specifically asking for classics, some of my favorite classic horror movies are as follows: The Black Cat, I Walked with a Zombie, The Wold Man, The Invisible Man, and The 4-D Man. Thank you in advance for the recommendations!
The more bizarre the better but I prefer my weirdness to be integrated into the setting (like Prophet) or to be formalistic weirdness (like Frank if you can consider that horror). More conventional stories with highly weird art are welcome too I guess, just nothing with a bunch of quirky humor masquerading as surrealism.
I looove reading horror comics but feel like I've burned through all great horror manga titles. What are your most scary or disturbing horror comic recommendations? Great art is nice, but a solid story is most important.
Title pretty much says it all, I've been really into graphic novels lately and wouldove to get some suggestions for your favorite horror comics/graphic novels. So far I've read all of junji ito's stuff and loved it as well as Wytches volumes 1 and 2. I've had my eye on a series called the plot but beyond that I don't really know of many in the horror genre, any suggestions are much appreciated! π
Edit: Thank you all for the great suggestions, I've got quite a lost of things to read now β€οΈ
I'm looking to commission a few sample pages of an horror comic book (pitch in the comments). Budget is about $100-200 per page, and will be using the sample pages to explore funding options to commission the rest of the comic book (crowdfunding, trad publishing, anthologies). The pages will be paid in advance so no work will be unpaid, there's just potential for more work.
Must be ok with:
Priority will be given to queer artists. No strict deadlines or turnaround on this as long as there's good communication.
When responding please attach link to your portfolio, rates, and why you think you might be a good fit.
Hi, interested in these Junji Ito volumes if anyone has them? Based in UK but willing to buy from anywhere as international postage should be fine for a volume or two.
Flesh-Colored Horror
Tomie 1-2
Gyo Singles 1-2
Thanks :)
I wasn't a user of the site but I'm briefly mentioning it in a thing I'm writing and other than wayback machine screenshots of it, I have no sources that the website even existed. I was expecting it to have a Wikipedia page (on the shocksite Wikipedia list) or something considering it existed since atleast 2008.
If anything, I atleast want some sort of source for how long the website was up. I've already checked some other subreddits for help.
Thanks to anyone willing to help!
Hi! I don't know if this is the right place to ask, if you know any other subs please enlighten me.
I'm looking for a particular gory/horror comic that I read when I was really young. Approx about 2002-03. I was staying at a friends house and their father had this comic. I don't remember much, but what I remember very vividly was that it was a dude who collected faces (skinned faces), and nailed them to his wall. It really disturbed me back then and I've been wanting to find it again but no luck.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Hello,
I'm searching for horror comic, but not necessarily those in a classic fashion. Recently I'm really enjoying comics in edgy (on purpose) and stylish manor, like Q Hayashida's Dai Dark and Dorohedoro, but I want to broad my experience, since I've only read a few titles that are not manga. Basically, something gory (or just falling into horror clichΓ©, if it has a nice atmosphere, it's also alright!) with unique artstyle and interesting worldbuilding would be ideal (so it doesn't have to be a comedy).
Thanks in advance!
More examples: The Voynich Hotel, Chainsaw Man Things that I already know: Doom Patrol, Sandman, Locke & Key
Gorefield.
