[Tales From The Crypt/Creepshow/EC Comics] What determines whether a dead person can come back and get revenge?
A standard formula for an EC Comics and works inspired by them is: An innocent person gets murdered. The killer gets away with it. Sooner or later, the victim comes back as a zombie and kills the killer.
The thing is, a lot of people get murdered around the world, and their killers aren't always brought to justice. Why doesn't stuff like this happen all the time? Why do some murder victims get to come back for vengeance and others don't?

Any artists out there that do work akin to the old EC Comics stuff (Vault of Horror, Tales From the Crypt, etc.)?
I have mostly a background in the film industry, writing, directing, and editing horror short films and obviously budgets and the possibilities of logic prohibit some things from happening in independent films. Iβve always loved the spirit and style of the old EC Comics and stuff like Creepy, too and perhaps would want to put some of the short films I physically cannot make into comic form.

No monsters, no sci-fi twist - The October Game is a straight up horror story. And certainly the most disturbing EC comic Iβve read. Art by Jack Kamen.

A user suggested I shared these in here! Great to find this group. This is my EC comics shock and horror collection. Beautiful sets of hardback noir reprints from the 50's. These are some of the best quality reprints I've ever owned. Highly recommended (but pricey)

If you're near Portland ME, and collect EC reprints, check out Casablanca Comics!
Picked up 24 Gemstone single-issues, and left plenty behind, each for cover price! Not only raw, not even bagged. They also had some 64-pagers, but I don't collect those.
I know one other person on the Facebook Fan-Addicts group picked up some more, but he said there were still plenty left behind for others.

Hey everybody. I've got a sealed copy of the gigantic (itβs about 12βx16βx3β and over 10 lbs) History Of EC Comics published by Taschen (Famous First Edition of 5,000 copies - individually numbered on the title page. No way of knowing exactly what number, as the book is sealed). Itβs also got the cool outer box as well.
Asking $185 shipped, and that includes PayPal G and S. Please comment if youβre interested, and Iβll DM you for your email address to send an invoice. Senators look over the covers of graphic comic books at the 1954 Senate hearing in NYC to see if they had potential impacts on juvenile crime in the US. The Comics Code Authority was later adapted as a result of the hearing, banning graphic comics and putting EC Comics out of business. [1024x819]

After over two decades of dreaming and refining our skills, my friend and I just launched our first real comic book series, heavily inspired by 50s and 60s sci-fi like Bradbury, Bester, EC Comics, old school Twilight Zone, and Forbidden Planet
In high school, we used to bring stacks of home-photocopied comics and sell them to kids in the hall for a dollar.
Now, years later, we feel like we're finally good enough to try and break into the industry. Our Kickstarter launched last week and the response has blown me away.
I know a lot of people hawk crappy comics on Kickstarter with vapid, voluptuous women colored in shiny, over-airbrushed Photoshop colors. I would humbly say that I think our book both looks far more sophisticated and comes from a much more interesting perspective. We're trying to work in comics for real. Like, for a living. And I really do think we bided our time until we could do something special.
Would love if you guys could check us out and if you have the means, grab a copy of the first couple issues. The more money we raise the more chance we can actually set ourselves up as a real publisher and develop more of our stories.

EC Comics: Where to Start?
Hey all. I'm a big fan of illustrators Wallace Wood and Jack Davis. I enjoy horror and sci-fi in general, so when they overlap it's even better. Unfortunately, I never know where to start with EC Comics. I've read various stories throughout the years, but I'm looking for a good anthology to pick up. I was looking at "Choke Gasp!" but I think the digital re-coloring is horrific on there. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
