As many people know, Watchmen was originally going to use the characters from Charlton comics, with The Comedian being based on Peacemaker. Here's Watchmen would have looked like if Moore got use them.

Did any of the creators of the original Charlton Comics characters read Watchmen? If so, do we know what they thought?
As we know Watchmen was original supposed to utilise the Charlton superheroes which DC had acquired from the company in 1983. I was wondering if any of the creators of the original Charlton Comics characters had read Watchmen and what their opinion was of the story?
I've heard that Steve Ditko allegedly read Watchmen, he was asked about parallels between Rorschach and Mr A. Ditko allegedly said that Rorschach was Mr A except he was insane.

Considering that Peacemaker was the "inspiration" for The Comedian it would be interesting to see the other Charlton Comics characters that were an "inspiration" for Watchmen characters pop up in the Peacemaker TV show
It does seem fitting that he was the "inspiration" for The Comedian as they are both described as "Captain Dumb-Impirial America".
(Does Hooded Justice have any "inspiration"?)

[Marvel/DC] What if Marvel Comics and DC Comics were the same company? How would characters and the universe work, the merger with other comics like Charlton, which would be the big and small heroes, which would be the most known writers and artists, etc.?

A nostalgia buy. Had it as a kid and who knows where it went. Was amazed to learn of its Watchmen connection later on in life. Happy to see the character has endured. Shocked to see the price of this thing these days. The Peacemaker #1, Charlton Comics 1967.

TIL DC Comic's Watchmen was originally intended to use existing heroes from a company DC had just purchased. DC liked the proposal for the Watchmen but didn't want their new characters killed or made into villains. The Watchmen creative team reworked the Charlton heroes into similar substitutes.

Early in his career, James Cameron had been an aspiring Comic Book penciller. Charlton Hestonβs character in True Lies (1994) was inspired by Nick Fury. He shares the same mannerisms and like Fury, is the head of a Peace-Keeping Organisation.

Looking for the location of the Charlton Comics in Derby. I know it shut down in 1986, but was wondering if anyone knows where the address of offices/printing presses were located.
