A list of puns related to "Highland Games"
Just saw that this was a thing on Google and was wondering if anyone has gone and their experience? I've seen different pages that say winter park and winter springs so where is it exactly? Just looking for something different to do this weekend with the wife
I can't think of any other region that is as dead as this.
Off the top of my head, the only life you encounter there (intelligent life, that is) is Kass on top of the Tower and the Gorons that give you the shrine quest (while it may seem they are not really in the highlands, it's technically part of the region).
You never see any travelers up there. I'm not sure there even exists a proper road to access it. That's how dead it is!
Now, I guess the Great Plateau would have to qualify as even more "dead", since it only has the King in it, and then he disappears after the prologue. But somehow it feels much more alive than the highlands.
Question!
Does anyone know of a women's league in Minnesota?
I haven't been able to locate any information online and have sent a few emails with no luck.
Any links to websites or social media would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
This is also their last province, a situation I had nothing to do with at all.

This summer I met some really neat people at a baby shower who were training caber toss with a big portable PVC setup. I got an email address from a woman named Rosemary and never followed up to see about joining them for a monthly get-together, and when I sent a message today, I got a bounceback.
I'm interested in doing some prep for the 2022 games and wondered if anyone locally knows of a group that trains heavy events. Thanks in advance!
i was just thinking of the log throw, and then i looked up what else they do, and yeah. or any other extreme "strongman" games. but i was really mostly thinking of the log throw... lol.
I live on one of the apartments on highland road and last time I wasn't able to come home before 11.30 PM. Any idea by what time should I plan to return home?
Haven't seen much discussion of Glen More II: Highland games around here and thought I'd throw it some love. I've been playing almost every night since it arrived earlier this week and I absolutely cannot get enough of it.
It's tile selection with a risk/reward rondel system. Moving clockwise, you place your player token onto a tile in the rondel and take it into your tableau. You can move it as far as you would like along the rondel, taking literally any tile that you can see, but the catch is that the current player is always the player furthest behind on the rondel. Therefore, taking valuable tiles further away allow other players to possibly take several turns in a row before you play again. The whole system comes together at the end, where all players lose victory points for every tile they have in their tableau in excess of the amount held by the player with the fewest. It's shockingly tight and it makes for absolutely delicious decision making.
The game is broken into four "eras", each punctuated by a scoring. The scoring is similarly fascinating, in that you score not for the accomplishments you have made in and of themselves, but how they stack up against the other players in the game. For example, collecting whiskey casks is a means of scoring. You compare how many you have with the number held by the player with the fewest. The difference will correspond to an increasing victory point reward.
The base game, itself, is already a beautiful bit of clever simplicity. The Chronicles, however, provide near infinite replay value. These are, essentially, mini expansion modules that can be mixed and matched to provide your game with new scoring opportunities and alternate objectives. Some change the game more than others, and the fact that they can be combined in different ways means I'm going to be continuing to explore it for a long time.
The solo mode is exactly what I like in an automa. Much like designs by David Turczi, it doesn't attempt to play the game exactly like a normal player. Rather, it cheats while still providing opportunities to deny it points and objectives as you would in a multiplayer game. I heavily prefer this style, as an AI that simply follows the rules by a flow chart gives me the impression that the game has been solved, so to speak. The designer believes that, barring certain obvious exceptions, a competent player should value decisions according to the flow chart. I want a bot that makes me feel l

I found a year old discussion bout this expansion when it was being Kickstartered (sp?) but nothing since. Is it worth buying?
I'm loving GMII:C and still have a couple of Chronicles to dig into with my playing group, but was hunting around for the promo bits and spotted this full expansion. But it seems like it's a solo mode and 3 chronicles for Β£30, which feels quite steep! Thoughts as to how much extra it brings to the table compared with the original Chronicles.
And as a side note - anyone know of anywhere selling the Nessie Chronicle?
Imagine an AC Game in Scottland where there is solid mythology already which can interface with ISU quite well I think.
I am talking about a more modern Scottland to separate it from ACV and Wrath of the Druids. Maybe something in relation to Prince Charles and the attempts to liberate Scottland around the year 1720. History already provides a fair amount of drama around that time where a protagonist could fight on either side.
There should be more details than that ofc but I think it could be a cool basis. Do you guys have any further ideas? Would you like to see such an AC game?
Hello! I am a forever-GM with a strong penchant for indie games. Some things I have run in the last few years:
I am currently eying Sorcerously Advanced, a romp through a high-fantasy, post-singularity world, for my next campaign. The onset of COVID lead to me losing some of my previous players, and I am in need of new recruits!
Things that I look for in players:
Me and my wife typically host biweekly games at our house in Highlands Ranch, and we generally aim to start ~1PM on Saturdays. I quite enjoy entertaining, and interesting snacks and treats are a constant.
Currently I have two players, and I'm shooting for between three to five, with four being the preferred number. Once another game tickles my fancy, I may end up running a second campaign on the alternate weeks.
Me and my wife are 30-somethings, but all ages and length of RPG experience are welcome, provided you feel that you meet the above criteria, and think you could get hyped for this game. :)
Hope to hear from you!
Welcome to Training Tuesdays, the weekly /r/weightroom training thread. We will feature discussions over training methodologies, program templates, and general weightlifting topics. (Questions not related to today's topic should be directed towards the daily thread.)
Check out the Training Tuesdays Google Sheet that includes upcoming topics, links to discussions dating back to mid-2013 (many of which aren't included in the FAQ). Please feel free to message any of the mods with topic suggestions, potential discussion points, and resources for upcoming topics!
This week we will be talking about:

After a few months of on and off work, I've built up a few more cities from the original .Hack// games that I'm slowly turning into a playable VR game. So far, the game part is more or less just experiencing the cities, but none-the-less, I hope you enjoy it. The city I'm nearly done with right now is the Highland City: Dun Loireag, a city located high in the clouds atop the peaks of mountains. I'll be updating it in the future to include NPC shopkeepers and a few grunties running around here and there as well as some additional structure modifications.
Use the pipe in front of the airport to go to where Celeste is contained. Hang out for shooting stars if you want.
Saharah is contained on Kanikapila Beach, just west of the airport. Side-step around the shell stool or use the seating to access the beach. She's selling a monochromatic wavy rug (large), simple medium orange mat (medium) & small simple black mat (small).
Shop as you like, gather shells, presents, pumpkins, bugs, fish, go diving, enter buildings...just please don't shake down the orchards or destroy the flowers.
There's spare fruits in the cardboard boxes just west of the airport and spare DIYs on the sidewalk between shops. There are tools available on benches, tables & stools; please put them back when you're done using them on Panacea. Let me know if something breaks so I can replace it.
Leave via the airport. Containing both Celeste & Saharah is a nightmare; if your battery dies, you lose connection or your Internet can't handle all the peer-to-peer traffic, it can disrupt everything by resetting their locations. I block people who 'leave quietly' with no explanation. Get OUT of dialogue/dressing room for flights.
In general, please don't be a jerk of a lurker.

Need a texture artist for a 3D adventure game set in the Scottish highlands. I will be doing all the 3D modeling and also the programming which i'm already quite a bit into production with. I already have someone tapped for the audio but needing a texture artist to really help this project get going.Currently I've been doing all the texture work myself but i'm just not happy with the results - i've linked below to the base models to gave you an idea of the work needed - they are currently fully textured and working in-game but i've linked you to the untextured models as again - the textures suck haha.I am very excited about the potential of the project, the main mode of transport will be by bike so alot of work has went into making sure that is solid and now i'm moving onto building out the world in which the player will explore.
It will be a fairly relaxed position and will only expect work on the project to be done when you can, reference photos and anything needed in that regard can be provided. Ideally you will have knowledge of unity and blender which are the software i'm using however it's not required as long as i can send you 3d models and the textures i get back work in unity without much issue i don't mind which software you use.
The models will be prepared with materials already in place so all you would need to do is load the model into your chosen software and you will be good to go.
As for art style i'm not locked in on a chosen art style yet so if you want to go in very stylized or realistic direction we can certainly talk about that. I'm targeting lower end computers for this project so that would be the only thing to keep in mind.
As for payment it would need to be Rev-Share model and will bring you in as a partner on the project.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Selection of the models for the game - https://www.reddit.com/user/TheBabaYagaMan/comments/pyrzio/game_models/
Edit 1: Fixed the link.
August 21 at Thomas beach and campground. Anyone else going? I've never been but I'm so excited to check it out!!
