A list of puns related to "Hasek"
The selection show happened a few weeks ago but We Are Domi narrowly won and will represent the Czech Republic in Turin in a few months.
On the morning show today Paul claimed Hasek was worse in the playoffs than he was in the regular season and that if Hasek was even close to his regular season self the Sabres would have won a cup during his time in Buffalo. He claimed Hasek was 'average' in the post season. Nearly everything he says irritates me so I had to look this up. https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/h/hasekdo01.html Go figure the numbers do not back up his claim and Hasek was BETTER in the playoffs than the regular season.
Paul specifically referenced the 98-99 season;
Regular season- GAA 1.87 and SV% .937
Playoffs- GAA 1.77 and SV% .939
Not a huge difference but still he was BETTER post season. He certainly didn't turn average during the playoffs.
Paul referenced the 97-98 season;
Regular season- GAA 2.09 and SV% .932
Playoffs- GAA 2.03 and SV% .938
Not a huge difference but still he was BETTER post season. He certainly didn't turn average during the playoffs.
Overall in Hasek's Buffalo career;
Regular season- GAA 2.22 and SV% .926
Playoffs- GAA 2.04 and SV% .930
I don't understand how this equates to Hasek not being his normal self in the playoffs? He was better post season and was in no way AVERAGE.
Another claim Paul made during this outrageous segment was that Hasek would have 'stolen' a cup for the Sabres if only he didn't suddenly fall apart in the playoffs. That Roy stole a cup for Montreal but Hasek never could for the Sabres. This is what made Roy a 'better' goalie - his cup thievery. Maybe Roy was 'better' but it's not because he was stealing cups for Montreal (maybe he did for Colorado in 2001 but I'll stick to the comparison voiced on air).
1986 Montreal Canadiens win the cup and Roy gets the Conn Smythe. Assuming this is where Paul thinks Roy 'stole' a cup which Hasek never could for Buffalo?
Roy 1986 playoffs GAA-1.93 and SV%-.923.
Maybe it was the 1993 Canadiens team where Roy again won the Conn Smythe and Stanly Cup that Paul thinks Roy 'stole' the cup for Montreal?
Roy 1993 playoffs GAA- 2.13 and SV%- .929
These numbers WORSE than Hasek's were for the Sabres 99 Cup Finals appearance.
Hasek was the best goalie to ever wear a Sabres uniform and he did not fall apart in the post season. Maybe Kasparaitis scored a bad goal but let's not trash Hasek's entire post season career and stat line over it. He got BETTER in the post season. All-Time World
... keep reading on reddit β‘This is not to say that Jack Campbell will turn out like Hasek or Thomas, or that he will even turn out like Anton Khudobin, but itβs okay to give older goalies their first shot at a starting job when veteran starters/1A goalies go down with injuries.
Sometimes thatβs how stars are made.

If the Canadiens end up sweeping the jets and go to the Stanley cup semifinals and win that Carey Price is a living legend.

Pimpin' Ain't Parise - Woppa
The King said he'd be in tryhard mode this year, and he wasn't kidding. If you go straight down the middle, you're hit with Matthews and Suzuki. If you try to go right, you'll see Stamkos and Batherson. Left, it's Svechnikov (2.12 lol) and Hall. Not to mention 4 PP1 QBs. Then the team's support players are Panarin's bestie, Ehler's bestie, Matthew's new bestie which allows me to have 60% of Leafs PP1, and then the Dvorak Anderson combo. Did you know Dvorak and Anderson are having a blistering preseason? No, you didn't.

Over the years, The King had his run-ins with sickboy and each time The King came out on top. I made that statement because sickboy looks to be the division's 2nd best team, and I need to draw the line and drill in the fact that my team is still leagues above. But man, that Tkachuk Kaprizov wrapround with McDavid, it's gonna be a haymaker.

Because of the way some teams below chose to draft, I don't anticipate there to be a middle class in this division. You're either stomping on noobs, or you're eating 18 year private reserve dry aged connoiseur shit for breakfast lunch and dinner. Luckily for onegai the team should be in the group of the former. Zbad, Panarin, and Kreider will ensure his team will attain PF whenever NYR plays, and on the days Rangers suck, there's Stone Seguin, Wheeler, Barrie to backup.

This manager I always had respect for. This is the guy who cockblocked my 275PF final week last season to deny The King of his rightful playoff spot and picks like Rust/Kubalik were along the same wavelength as me during this year's draft. BUT, what I DON'T get, is the Dougie Hamilton 3rd round pick. Hamilton was able to do what he did because Carolina's PP1 is stacked. But who is he passing to in NJ? Nico Hischer? Have fun rostering PK Subban #2 knowing that one pick before was Stamkos.

In previous years success in OTH meant how good your wingers were. Nowadays it's about the full forward experience and Donald took that to heart, drafting only TWO non-forwards from rounds 1-14. So you'd think the forwards must be stacked right? Nah. Donald still somehow still manage to fuck up his forwards, relying on guys like RNH Barzal Timo and Giroux.
