A list of puns related to "Griot"
Iβve been looking for a new foam cannon to replace my PF22 because it seems like the market has caught up and surpassed the PF22βs performance in certain areas, specificity foam output and thickness. I rebuilt my PF22 with a new filter and O rings just to make sure I was comparing apples to apples.
The Griots Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon caught my attention due to the attractive design. I liked the fact that the foam cannon bottle has a wide base and can stand balanced. In addition, the wide opening is fantastic and makes a huge difference in filling up and rinsing out when done. The cannon is well built with a very nice tactile rubber feel on the foam nozzle, as well as very nice a black anodized finish on all metal parts including the quick connect fitting. The metal ball attached to the soap hose is a nice addition as it keeps the hose at the bottom and it will foam consistently until the very last drop of soap is used before it sprays out water. The threads attaching the head to the bottle are nice and wide so you can easily screw the top on without much effort in terms of getting it aligned. On the other hand, my PF22 bottle threads (wide base version) is starting to erode and I think I will need to replace the bottle soon. Iβm starting to think MTM purposely made the bottle fragile simply to add another revenue stream since the PF22 head will essentially last a lifetime if maintained properly. The Griots kit also comes with a 1.1mm nozzle installed, but I opted to use the included 1.25mm nozzle to better match up with my Kranzle 1322
With that said, the only downside to the Griots foam cannon is the foam head where it screws onto the bottle is made of plastic. I would gladly pay another $40 for this to be made out of aluminum that is anodized red. That would make it the perfect foam cannon.
Now onto the test. I loaded up 3 oz of Sonax Actifoam Energy with the rest water to the top and set the foam output to max using the dial. I inserted the foam cannon into my Obsessed Garage Mosmatic gun with mosmatic quick connect, which fit perfectly with the Griots connector. I gave it a shot and I literally let go of the sprayer within 3 seconds because the foam was the thickest Iβve seen out of any foam cannon. I foamed the entire car and waited for the foam to dwell and roll off the car. I waited and waited but the foam was so thick that it held on for what it seemed like eternity. I let the car sit for 15 minutes and there was still plenty of foam clingin

Ethos Ceramic Shampoo was simply too thick and runny and really didnβt bond well to the surface. Carpro Hydro2 Foam was more challenging to use and is streaky to get off, but this was many years ago and they have since reformulated but I have no experience with the new formula.
I decided to give Griots Poly Gloss a try. The viscosity is very thin making it easy to mix in a foam cannon. The fragrance is strawberry. It reminds me of strawberry soda.
My process was simple: foam the car with a more aggressive foam soap (Sonax Actifoam Energy), rinse off, then apply poly foam and let it sit for 3 minutes per the instructions. The best thing about this product is that it creates vertical streaks as the foam dwells and dissipates so you can see the product working and bonding to the paint.
The product rinsed off very easily with no residue left behind. The hydrophobics was noticeable and impressive.
The gloss is what blew me away. The car looked like I just spent the whole afternoon waxing it. The product I can compare the gloss to is Polish Angel High Gloss. The surface feels slick to the touch and it feels like there was certainly something left behind.
Unfortunately, I cannot comment on longevity at this time but it impressed me enough that I will be adding a gallon to my arsenal. Itβs definitely worth a try if you are on the fence. Very easy to use and get great results quickly. This one is a winner.
TLDR if you don't have time:
Griots is better all round but at the cost of a whopping 2 cents more per oz. I would recommend you read the bucket wash section at least if you have the time as its the most important.
I think everyone can agree that the most universally recommended product on this sub would be Megiuars Gold Class car shampoo. It has everything you would want, low price point, easy to find, good reputation, etc. but recently I have been on the hunt for something better. I thought gold class was going to be the end all be all as Im not the person to spend the money for super premium stuff like Carpro Reset which is undoubtedly a great product but is extremely expensive. Any way I heard about Griots Brilliant Finish from a Autopia post about it and it seemed like what I was looking for, easy to find, relatively cheap, and great performance.
Price and where to buy
Griots Brilliant Finish- I bought half a gallon for $10.99 from my local O'Reillys which comes out to 0.17 USD per oz.
Meguiars Gold Glass- I buy 48 oz from Walmart for $6.97 which comes out to 0.15 USD per oz. They also sell 64 oz containers but I have not gotten that size.
Container and aesthetics
Griots Brilliant Finish- Comes in a large 64 oz round bottle with big flip top cap. The spout is nice as it has a little lip on it so the product doesn't stick to the side of the bottle when you pour it out. The Griots labels are always on point, minimalist, consistent with everything they sell, and they look nice.
Meguiars Gold Class- Comes in 48 and 64 oz containers, they are both the same just different sizes. The bottle is slim which is way better than the Griots bottle as I like to buy in large quantities and the slimmer bottles fit easier on a shelf. Gold Class has a typical screw on 48/400 cap which does the job but in my experience is a hassle as the product will run down the side of the bottle if your not careful. The label is okay, it has what I assume is a Mercedes on the front and a lot of unnecessary writing. The labeling is consistent with the rest of the gold class line which is nice but I think it looks a little dumb, cant be worse then Optimums labels!
Side note: I buy 8 oz condiment squirt bottles from Walmart for $0.97 each and put soap in that as its easier to use out of the small squeeze bottles.
Scent, color, and consistency
Griots Brilliant Finish- Griots is a pink liquid that is very close to the consistency of maple

ELARA: GRIOT'S GUIDE TO THE HEART SEA
In a crowded university room, an elderly human recounts the city's history to their students. A cyclops warrior raises her bow against a sasabonsam with grotesque wings and knife-sharp claws. Standing before a towering temple, a sorcerer with flaming hair declares that he is destined for greatness. A robed serpentfolk bows before a massive, levitating dragon, who warns of terrifying danger in the future.
This is Elara, a world of magic, spirits, and supernatural wonders. 9,000 years ago, legend has it that the ancient Divinities left the multiverse that they created, beginning the Age of Abandonment. 6,000 years ago, divine magic returned--the Age of Recovery. Two thousand years ago, the Age of Magic started when a secret was unearthed that allowed Elaraβs people to wield immense magical power without the aid of deities or spirits. These events each changed the world forever, and in recent decades, there have been signs of another revolution.
Individuals of great magical power have begun to claim a connection to the gods, powerful spirits, or even the disappeared Divinities, calling themselves Godtouched (or Spirit-touched). With it being spring, I wanted to tackle the swirl marks on my paint, as they have been bothering me. The two random orbitals I have been looking at are the Griots and the Harbor Freight ones. I will use it for my Subaru, and maybe some family members' cars, but it will not be used constantly. Is the Harbor freight one good enough for a beginner, or is it worth it to step up to the Griots G9?

Griots 6β random orbital polisher.. Iβm on a budget need to remove holograms from black paint. Will this polisher get me by? Iβm a beginner
Recently I purchased the Griots Sprayer. I used it on my car , as suggested adding 3oz to the plastic container and filling tap water to the top level. I went around my car, bottom to top and by the time I was on the last section it ran out of βfoamβ. Does anyone have any issues with the low amount of foam produced ? Any suggestions to get more foam and last longer during the process?
Is the G9 any better than the G6? I was talking to a very reputable detailer down in Texas and he's tried the G9 with 2 replacements from griots thanks to their great customer service. He says the G6 is much better and even with modifications the G9 was still stalling and not as powerful. Thoughts?
I just bought a bottle of Griotβs Heavy Duty wheel cleaner and was wondering if itβs safe to use once per week or 2 weeks? I try to wash my car weekly but sometimes it goes for 2-3 weeks without being washed due to school and work. I have Work ZR10s if that makes a difference
I can't decide between Griot's Interior Cleaner or P&S Xpress Interior Cleaner. I am looking for a good cleaner that doesn't make stuff shiny or slick. I would be following up on either of those with 303 Protectant as well. Is one better than the other? Thanks!
I just can't get this stuff to look good. I have tried warmer weather, in the sun, out of the sun, dry immediately, wait 20 minutes.
It's a tuxedo black car( heavy mettalic) it just smudges around and looks like garbage. I can't buff it out. Last time I have to take a mechanical buffer to the car to get it to look good. I was hoping it would be better when it's warmer. Any ideas? Can anyone set me straight? Washed and dried prior to application.
Iβm looking for a sealant that will both provide longevity & fill in scratches. I used Soft99 Fusso over the past year, and itβs been working really well for me. Despite going through the winter and road salt, some panels are still very hydrophobic.
However, what are your thoughts of the recently released TW Graphene, or is there a sealant that you believe rivals the Soft99 Fusso?
I've had this bottle for a bit under a year and now and it definitely stayed in the trunk of my car during the winter months in missouri. I'm assuming some of it separated during those freezing and thawing cycles since then. I've tried shaking it up but those chunks are staying there. Still safe to use?
I just got this wax from Autogeek, and was wondering if the physical properties of the wax have been damaged due to (assumed) having been frozen and then cracked. Does anyone know if this will affect how it applies/shines/etc? Should I return it? I just got it today.

Hi,
I'm taking it offline, having received ample and very useful feedback. Thanks for now!
This is supposed to be the first chapter in a scifi novella called (for now) the Griot and the Ghost. I have received feedback on previous versions right here, and I'm back with this updated version after some weeks.
Particularly welcome: feedback about the characters (incl. their relationship dynamics), dialogues, POV and pacing. And, about where you believe the story is headed (I've tried to make a certain number of promises and I'm curious about how much of it is coming across, and how well or not).

Hey r/AutoDetailing!
First off I want to say thank you to this community. I have been a long time lurker and the information from the wiki and this community has been so valuable as I start to take better car of our cars!
I recently picked up some Griots Ceramic 3 in 1 Wax and was wondering if I should clay before hand (yes I know this is a discussion many time over). Would spraying down certain areas with iron x be a good alternative? I know the claying discussion is a common one around here with everyone having their own opinion. My biggest fear is marring the paint since I am not looking to do a full blown polish. I'm not quite up to that challenge yet! My thought was the 3 in 1 would be a good quick way to add a nice shine and layer of protection to our cars until we move and I have a driveway. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
Hello everyone. As the title suggests, I am looking for a pad in between the buff and shine urotec maroon pads and the Griotβs garage orange pads (regular not the thinner boss pads).
Possibly (probably) donβt need an in between but .... I love spending money and buying car stuff?!?!?
Any suggestions?
Uro tec dark blue heavy polishing ? Open to any brands.
Polisher is a G9. Products being used are blackfire one step or griots fast correcting cream and griots correcting cream.
Thanks in advance.
