Bear Mountain State Park, dog friendly trails. It was a great weekend with prefect weather to step out of walls during lockdown. Though dogs are not allowed swim in the lake, there are patches of puddles of water from the rocks. Dogs can enjoy hopping and jumping around the trail. Fidofriendly

TIL: About the Great Bear Lake, which is super creepy to me for the following reasons
I have known about the GBL since I saw it on a map when I was a kid. But I just read some more about it.
- So large that it took a month for someone to sail across it.
- Super deep (446 meter maximum depth)
- So cold and remote that very few people live near it (in the hundreds, not the thousands)
- It is frozen over for much of the year
- So nutrient-poor that it is very empty and desolate (very little biodiversity)
- One time a tanker was driving across it and it BROKE THROUGH THE ICE OVER 100-METER DEEP WATER OMG
