A list of puns related to "Gospel Singer"
A few years ago after watching some Jennifer Holliday videos, I stumbled on a lesser known African-American gospel singer. She had a wikipedia page and I am certain she was born in 1960 or 1961. She was short, probably about 5 foot 2 or so, and heavyset. She definitely had her shoes off in the video. It was your typical high energy African-American gospel session. I cant remember the song(s) she was singing. I canβt remember any details about her name either. Please help!

Flordelis Dos Santos De Souza grew up in extremely poor, violent conditions in a favela of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. When she was 14, both her brother and father got into a fatal car accident on their way to work. At that point, Flordelis had to become a provider for her family. She got a job at a bakery and moonlighted as a singer at her mother's church in her free time.
At 19, she fell in love, got pregnant, and ended up leaving the church. Unfortunately, her first husband ended up leaving her just a few years later. She took this as a sign that she had to go back to her roots so she ended up becoming a missionary and adopting several teenagers that she met at local funk dances. A year later, she adopted over 30 kids, a lot of them just babies, that were victims of the Candelaria massacre (off duty police opened fire on sleeping homeless children outside of a church.)
The government didn't take lightly to that and attempted to take her to court for illegal adoption practices. She ended up winning and becoming somewhat off a folk hero after. In fact, there was a big budget movie made about her life starring several prominent Brazilian actors and she even managed to become a politician in her native Rio De Janeiro. She got the most votes out of any woman in history. Eventually, the number of kids living in her household totaled 55.
Here is where the story starts getting weird. Flordelis married a man named Anderson do Carmo, who became a very prominent minister in her church later on. That's not the odd part, though. Anderson was her biological daughter's former boyfriend...and he was also one of the original teenagers that Flordelis adopted. This wasn't something that was publicly known until later.
Allegedly Flordelis, Anderson, and her Daughter (his ex gf) all participated in sexual activities together and attended swinging parties. There were also several accusations made against them about blood rituals, cult like behavior, and family-wide orgies involving their adopted children.
Around 2019, it was alleged that Flordelis and her daughter attempted to poison Anderson several times. He ended up surviving 6 attempts but ended up being shot over 20 times in his genitals during a robbery attempt outside of their home.
Later on, it came out that the murder was carried out by two of their step-children and
