I use this i.e. for gaming. Usually I would use an alternative mail account but then I randomly found this out and felt like sharing. Is this commonly known?

My mother has learning disabilities and is also illiterate so she struggles a great deal with all these online things as well as just your basic everyday things tbh. She has never in her life used google play to purchase anything or otherwise given her card to anyone else. Unfortunately I was away for a long time and have come to finally see that for about 2 years there were withdrawals between £0.99 to over £100 almost every day and over 10 times a day even. It was bizarre and surprised NatWest had not picked up on these or informed us.

Nonetheless, we came to find out over 3.8k had been withdrawn till date and NatWest is being very unhelpful. They want us to go to google and check that we are not associated to whoever has used my mums account. The issue is due to covid google had stopped phone customer service (that’s what my friend said) and I cannot find a way to speak to anyone at google apart from filling out request forms. The request form will take forever for every transaction as there were over 300-500+ transactions. However google also has a policy of reporting unknown transactions within 120 days. Unfortunately we were not aware of this either.

I had stopped these transaction by calling the bank however alot of time has passed now and I am unsure as to how to proceed to get my poor mother her money back.

After almost 3 years of making games my account was terminated without any previous info (although the termination reason says that it happened due to prior violations) In these 3 years I made 2 android games (3rd one was scheduled to release in about week from now) and I couldn't be happier as I'm pretty young dev and these 2 games finally made me financially stable, but google decided to end it in a span of seconds literally. I never had problems with google and my games, they never sent any emails about anything violating their policies but here I'm now. Only problems I had were with admin where sometimes they found a problem with stuff in game displaying over the ads or something like this, but it always went like this: Google blocks ads on my game and sends me an email with problem > I fix this bug > Google allows to display ads in my game again So I searched web to see if anyone else is having this problem and it turned out that a lot of people are losing battles with google terminating their accounts for no valid reason so I have a question:

Is it even worth to fight and try to get my account back? Or should I move on and idk find a job I guess. I'm located in EU and I found out that it's actually illegal to do this without informing about it 30 days earlier. Should I try to sue google? What can I get from it and is it even possible to win?

Google disabled my account earlier and signed me out of all devices. I signed back in and checked Recent Security Activity, and it said my account was re-enabled. It's happened twice today. Should I be worried?

The email they sent says: "It looks like it was being used in a way that violated Google's policies.", but I don't think I've violated any of them.

(I have 2FA, so I don't think anybody has access to my account.)

My friend had her iPhone stolen from her handbag. It is locked and is signed in with her Apple ID. The phone cannot be used by anyone even if it is reset. Same with Android devices. You cannot reset without signing into the last Google account used. Is there another purpose for stolen phones?

If you signed up for a Google custom domain account between 2006-2012, Google is saying you have until May to start paying or your account will be suspended. Starting May, if Google has billing information for your account, they will start charging. Otherwise, in July your account will be suspended.

This, to me seems petty. No one did anything wrong in 2006 when they signed up for this service. And Google stopped offering it in 2012. So why now, 10 years later, are they going to start charging for something customers have had free for over a decade?

IMO, this is petty.

Edit: I will add that this is for legacy G suite free edition. Maybe not “petty”, but definitely not positive

Weird title, but thats that i thought of :-)

I've been experimenting with solutions for when my old gsuite dies (i dont want to pay)

My solution right now is working and this is what i did:

Choose Cloudflare as my DNS
Applied the beta "email routing"
Created an email myname@mydomain.com that sends the email to username@gmail.com

On my gmail account I added an email to send as (myname@mydomain.com) and did all the verifications.. seems that 2FA must be on and I had to use a app password (allow unsecure apps) and I set that as default

Now i can log into my new gmail account and send and recieve mails as myname@mydomain.com

Now there is the backaup from gsuite and restore in gmail left ... and the calendars... and the photos ....
But it feels promising so far :-) If you dont count the 20€ apps I bought and my youtube stuff... but it might be good with a cleanup ;-)

As a marketing agency owner, I have been working with Google for a long time. Every quarter, Google adds a new account manager to work on and "optimize" my ad accounts/be there to answer questions. They always try to schedule a call to speak. I dread these calls for many reasons. The first is because it is always so incredibly hard to understand the managers. They are working from India and have very, very thick accents. I have only had two in the last 5 years that could speak English well enough for me to not have to say "I'm sorry, could you please say that again?" every five minutes. [Please know that I 100% respect and appreciate Indians. It's just really hard for me to understand their accents, and I consider myself pretty good at understanding through accents. (Also -- it would be no different if they had thick German or any other kind of accent -- it's just tough to comprehend).]

Not only that, but the fact that they switch their account manager every three months is exhausting. I have to spend so much time going over my company's purpose/goals every quarter, and often have to undo what the previous manager set up so I can try something "new" (it's never new -- it's always something I've done before).

They don't listen to me when I talk, they constantly talk over me, and treat me like I've never used Google Ads before in my life. I've been using GA for 5 years now and feel like I could teach them something, honestly. I know they have scripts they need to follow, but oftentimes they sound downright demeaning. And when I try to explain to them why I don't want to take their advice (often because I've tried it before with another manager and it failed), they don't listen at all. They just talk over me and make me do what they say because we are screen sharing.

I know you're thinking, "just don't answer their calls." You don't understand ... if I don't, they will continue to call up to 10X per day until I answer. Again, completely exhausting.

Does anyone else have these issues? How can I let Google know?

This is an account I actively use. I was able to create the data request but doesn't let me actually download the data.

What even is the point of 2FA then if it is not sufficient to verify my identity!? My only real option now is to give up my phone number.

I have a phone with AndroidOne. AndroidOne isn't modified by manufacturer and doesn't have bloatware (similar to google pixels).

• I factory reset it.
• I use it without google account.
• I disabled all stock google apps (google dialer, google messages, google photos, google calculator etc.) and replaced them with foss apps.
• I also disabled google play services.
• I use fdroid and aurora store to install apps.

My question is how does it compare to iphones and custom roms (e.g. Calyx os) in terms of privacy? Does android itself still track you or is all tracking done through google play services and apps?

Have had this issue for a few days now, not sure where it came from. I have internet but the Vanced Youtube and Youtube Music apps are preventing me from signing in, even after I redownload and reinstall both apps.

I still have my Google account for the occasional collaboration with Docs, none of my classmates want to switch.

I didn't lose anything. But I know I am exposed because of writing it on a cloud platform like google docs. Is there a way to close my account completely and re-open a new one with the same email?

Maybe this story will help someone else that just wants to be clear of Mihoyo's BS.

This was over a month in the making -- I started playing Genshin in September, dropped around $300ish CAD on the game between the top up bonuses and BP's.

My account was stolen on November 28th, tried to login that evening and found that my email address had been changed, and that my dummy email account that I used for the account was compromised.

So I tried to recover my account, and failed. I tried again, and failed. Despite having dozens of screenshots/videos/bank statements/information on the account Mihoyo just did not want to return my account.

So I tried to call my bank and refund -- but debit card transactions don't have the same protection as visa. So I tried Google Support. They denied me, as they weren't unauthorized charges and weren't made in a 48 hour period.

So I tried PayPal and made a claim. The claim was closed within 3 days, stating that Google provided evidence and that the claim was resolved in their favor, so I would not be receiving a refund.

I contacted PayPal support very nicely and explained the situation, and how I am locked out of a "service/digital items" that I have paid for, and that the developers are not assisting me in recovering my account -- the support worker asked for me to provide more evidence, which I did showed receipts, images of me being locked out of my account, Mihoyo not responding to my emails and snippets of Mihoyo's TOS stating that you're paying for a "service" when you buy items (which I'm now not receiving) and they reopened my case.

After that I waited a week and Google contacted Mihoyo for more information.

Mihoyo did not respond to them fast enough. (now they know how we feel 😂)

The case was closed in my favor for the first large top up bonuses. Now I just had to make claims for all of the other purchases and repeat the process.

I woke up today to multiple notifications from PayPal stating that I've won all my claims and that I will be being refunded ALL of the purchases.

I was told multiple times it was impossible from debit transactions, but I managed to get my money back.

Now I just need to refund a few Welkin purchases and I'm 100% done.

My account randomly got disabled at 3am. Got a text on my phone about it, it asked me to sign in to restore.

So I logged in and my account was restored instantly. (didnt need to appeal anything)

Any idea why this would have happened? Im just worried now.

I checked all secruity and there wasnt any suspicious logins, nothing.
