I love the campus. Its beautiful! A mix of super Gothic hard-core winter tank architecture like Wean, hamerschlag, and doherty, contrasted with the modernity of Gates and Scott hall. You can tell that the Tepper building was like a mix of the two styles. I seriously love the Tepper building btw, its like a building from the future!!

The makerspaces with the meches grinding away look so cool. Im proud of going here because I'm surrounded by such talented and hard working people. I like to imagine that when I get out into the working world, ill tell people I went to CMU, and because they can imagine what my classmates are like, they think some scrub like me is on their level!

I'm just playing. CMU is my home away from home. The professors have my back so, so much. My department is like a family. I dont like some of them and I think some of them are annoying, but man I love them all. Because everyone in this school seems to have my back!

I didn't always feel this way. I HATED cmu when I first came here. Absolutely hated it. In my first few years here, i wanted to jump off Pausch bridge a few times. I felt so, so, so alone. So homesick and resentful. I had some dark winters at this school.

But I stuck through it. No, WE stuck through it. Together. Every office hour, every frat party where the nerds finally let off some steam, every crappy taste of India plate, every amazing exchange sandwich, every ice cold night waiting to paint the fence, every holding the door open for the person behind you, everything. Every bit of it, we did it and do it together.

Today, I am a proud tartan. So, so proud. I love this school. I love its people, its pride, its passion, its innovativeness, its inclusiveness, its resilience, its accepting of all people from anywhere and any background, its solidarity in the face of adversity, and just, its CMU-ness!!

I love the way CMU embraces all its quirks.

I love the way I've always been able to find a listening ear, as long as I asked humbly and expected nothing. Maybe I couldn't get an extension every time, but im grateful nonetheless.

And I love the way that my experience here has shaped me into the person I am today, for better or for worse.

I love this school. If you don't feel this way, I respect that. But I dont feel the same way as you.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

I dunno how to really start this so I’m just gonna talk about my thoughts in sections/blocks.

Meeting CLG for the first time It was awesome and it was awkward. I was some guy just like introducing myself as “Link” and then they were like “huh?” And then they were like “OHHH” <- lol. In that sense, it was awkward, but one that happened everything started becoming easier. There were a lot of people to introduce yourself too especially when you see people like wickd, snoopeh, hotshot, jiji, travis, mtw guys all there. You kind of feel intimidated, but you start to get the courage to introduce yourself. Basically, it was cool. :O

What are they like? They are both similar and different from what you see on stream.

• Chauster is basically the same as his online stream personality; he is the most blunt guy I’ve ever met. He is probably the most knowledgeable just like I assumed and he is chill !_!

• Jiji is h4h4 l0l hueheue Q(._.Q) do da fightingz guy.

• Doublelift is always trying to show he is not a woman - picking up those girls :p

• Hotshot is what I kind of expected to be. He is genuine, buys basically everything in terms of food because he is really generous. He is aloof and always plays that DS of his haha. But when it comes to LoL, you can really see he is passionate about the game and dedicated to expanding E-sports. It’s not about the money and that is something I respect. He understands it is a privilege to be able to do what he is doing.

What did we do? Well, in the beginning it was planned for us to all scrim because CLG Black literally had like 2 ranked 5 games going into gesl. So we planned out thursday all day to just scrim vs CLG Prime. Tues-Wed were basically just people going to amusement parks and eventually going to Howies near midnight. I saw most of curse, mtw, tsm hanging around Howie’s then. All I did was just play some solo q games and bond with the group in the hotel nights/our crazy denny’s/food runs. Thursday, CLG Black played vs Ordinance and lost in the IPL5 qualifiers because we pretty much threw pretty hard, but it basically taught us an important lesson. Think about picks hard and communicate effectively. This basically would also hurt us again in the games vs tsm - to be explained later.

Hey guys! Wombat here.

I just wanted to come on and apologize personally for my performance today. It was subpar by my standards I hope I can bring you guys a better show tomorrow.

My Crohn's went nuts this morning so I spent the hours of 9am to 12PM on the toilet cramping pretty horribly. Adding to that, I only got 4 hours of sleep (my own fault, couldn't fall asleep).

I don't really thing those are excuses but that coupled with the stress of trying to make sure SOME content got out (apologies if you didn't like the text casting. We figured it was better than nothing so Torch and I took care of it as best we could with the tools we had at hand).

I won't make excuses for myself or anything else about it. It didn't live up to expectations for me, but I had a good times casting with Torch and hope sincerely that we'll put on a better show tomorrow.

Everyone of the production people was just as upset since much of the technical stuff was beyond our immediate control. But I am not here to speak to that. Just my performance as a caster. It wasn't what I wanted it to be and I hope you guys will get a better show tomorrow, body willing.

I'm off to sleep now! Thanks to those of you who watched and bared with us.

Oh, and this is not a response to random haters. I just have high personal standards I didn't meet and wanted to reach out to apologize if I failed to help the GESL be a better experience for people.
