A list of puns related to "Furl"
I posted my new Furls hooks yesterday. I was so excited for them because Iβve been wanting some for at least a year.
I actually canβt stand using them!
I made a simple ribbed beanie and my wrist and the top of my hand is killing me. I do knife grip and choke way up on it and had such a hard time holding the hook. Theyβre so smooth, it felt like my hand had to work 10x harder than with my normal aluminum hooks. The neck is so long. Itβs so lightweight that I donβt feel like Iβm holding anything.
My stitches are way looser than normal and Iβm afraid they look messy.
Anyone else not crazy about their Furls hooks? Iβm so so so disappointed.
Hey friends - after lusting over the beautiful hooks that Furls carries. Iβm wondering if theyβre worth it? Especially since Iβm in the land of maple leaves and moose, so theyβre harder to find - but theyβre also marked up a little more. Theyβre just so gosh darn pretty π©
Furls- should I try them? I live my Tulip Etimo hooks but I do t want to miss out. How are the resin ones? Do they have sales? What do I need to know?
I placed an order with furls for one crochet hook November 28th. I have not received any emails/ texts yet about my order whether thatβs for shipping or for delays. Is this normal? I sent an email asking but so far I havenβt gotten a response back. Maybe itβs just because of the holidays? Just kind of miffed that I paid for shipping within a certain time frame and havenβt gotten it yet.
She is a sweetie, and also nuts.

Disclaimer: I know people either love or hate Furls' hooks. I happen to fall in the middle of these camps - I love the way Furl's looks but being a knife holder, I haven't yet found a hook that works comfortably with my crochet style. I also am aware that crochet hooks are incredibly personal and the best ones for each individual aren't always based on cost.
I am a crocheter of many years and have fallen in love with Furl's Streamline Resin collection. I so want these to work for me. In the meantime, I would like to find a similar version to try out before shelling out a ton of money for hooks that are just going to be put aside. I've included a picture here so you can see the shape.
I tried a few of Furls' hooks at a crochet conference with every intention of buying, but my hand cramped after just a row of crocheting. That's not Furls' fault, of course, it's probably just a matter of finding the right shape for me. It's been frustrating because I've been trying for years! I also want to support independent companies that lovingly hand make crochet tools - and from what I've heard, I respect Furl's ethos and quality.
My intention is to try out the less-expensive versions to see if it doesn't hurt my hands, THEN I can invest $25+ each for the Streamlines that I want. If not, I can keep waiting until I find the Furls that work best for me.
I've seen some knockoffs on Amazon, and recently found that Joann's has Boye hooks that are similar in shape but only $7 each. Has anyone tried these? Are they similar enough for me to experiment with before I jump into the deep / expensive end of the pool?
Suggestions are welcome!

At the end of the ads my screen just freezes. I used to be able to watch them fine so I donβt know whatβs changed?
Title is self explanatory. Tell me some theorems/results that are unintuitive or unexpected! Perhaps a good example of this would be seeing the solution to the Bassel Problem for the first time.
Bonus points if the theorem/result is either really beautiful or really ugly!
Edit: Itβs been pointed out to me that most people are unable to fuel their eyebrows, and that the appropriate word here is βfurrowβ. However, please still feel free to share if a theorem shocked you so much that you indeed managed to furl your eyebrows in disbelief!
Edit 2: Thank you for all the responses, my forehead muscles have been thoroughly exercised reading through some of these!

Glowing wings in the night heralding a woman with the barest of disguises. A protector of the innocent who rarely seems to care about them beyond her initial intercession.
Starting Reputation: 3E?
Hannah is on the short side of average with curly blonde hair and dull green eyes. She usually looks bored or tired, often both. Her barebones costume consists of a domino mask and a sweatshirt with a built-in half-cape. The rest of it is just whatever sheβs wearing at the time.
On good days, Hannah is genuinely good-natured and heroic. She often feels bad for not putting more effort into caping, but finds it hard to muster more than the bare minimum, especially after a longer stretch of regular power use. In those cases, sheβs likely to say whatever necessary to disengage from other people, to the point of offering her real name or other details out of sheer apathy.
Wealth Level: 4
Hannah lives on the third floor of a condo, featuring a small balcony. By day she works as an accountant, providing enough income that she can afford a pretty average car. Sheβll occasionally babysit for her cousinβs kids, since they live in the same building.
Trigger type: Single, natural trigger
Furl can manifest glowing ethereal wings at will, large enough to wrap loosely around her body. They are more flexible than real bird wings, curving in ways they shouldnβt be able to. Each side of the wings serves a different purpose: the undersides push Furl away from whatever theyβre pointed at, with no noticeable force on the other surface. She usually uses this to fly, pushing away from the ground or whatever happens to be directly below her. This use of the power allows for fairly strong pushes with little drawback, enabling Furl to go highway speeds in empty airspace, with a little more maneuvering needed when things get crowded.
The other side of the wings have the opposite effect, pushing things away from them when activated. This can be exerted from any single part of the wing or the wing as a whole, allowing some fine manipulation if given time and space. The force of

I am in the process of working on my first boat which (as expected) is rife with issues ALOT of which I have knocked out. I can't though for the life of me seem to figure out why the furler isn't working. I redid the furling line, but each time I raise the sail, I furl it maybe 75% of the way before it seems stuck and I can't pull the line anymore. Forcing it bent the wire on the halyard and now there is a slight kink. Any thoughts as to what is causing this?
Like, I do love them. They are my favorite hooks. I actually have every size from 2.25 to 6mm. In various colors.
I use them whenever possible, I do find more comfortable for flat projects, instead of amigurumi projects.
However one of the biggest annoyance with them is they break, chip, bend or otherwise reduce the "luxury" portion of the item.
I spent $30+ on one hook and it can't take a hit on the head when I drop it?
I've accidentally sat on my hooks and they bend, and I can't bend them back.
I've accidentally dropped them, and the entire head comes off, turning it into a shiv.
And somehow one of the hooks chipped right where the yarn slides, so it catches every fiber.
I love these hooks and have replaces all of of ones that previously broke, but goodness I think if the rest break, I'm done. It's not worth $30 anymore.
Luxury yes, but you can't use them for durability, despite the price tag. It's annoying.
I'll probably use them until they break, but I guess I'll just go back to trusty old Amour Crochet Hooks. πͺ
Help. My nickle Furls size F hook just rolled off the bed and broke I am mid project (in Australia) will it be that noticeable if I use a 4mm hook? Furls specifically says on the website they donβt cover negligence and Iβm not buying another one now knowing how easily they break.
Hey anyone know why Furls closed their UK website? Very abruptly ceased trading yesterday at 2pm
