Fruitage Puns

Lovebombing is not a fruitage of the spirit.

I’ve been researching what people do and I’ve seen different comments and set ups.

During fruit… light or no light? Sunlight or artificial? Does it depend on what you are growing?

I’ve read light is better, but not necessary. I’m very curious on people’s experiences.

In the February 2017 study article “Who Is Leading God’s People Today?”, they admit they are not inspired nor infallible . . . something they’ve admitted before as a kind of “get out of jail free” card, a way to have their spirit-directed cake and eat it to. Still, the point of the study is that the Governing Body are the leaders God and Christ have appointed, and since 1919, the Faithful and Discreet Slave.

But something in paragraph 5 has struck me: “…in 49 C.E., holy spirit guided the governing body to make a decision regarding the issue of circumcision…the letter conveying that decision also reveals that the governing body manifested the fruitage of God’s spirit, including love and faith”

Here, they make the usual claim that in the first century there was a Governing Body as well. And one proof that this first century 'Governing Body' was chosen by God is because they manifested the fruitage of God’s spirit. What proof is offered?

A short letter that is recorded at Acts 15:23-29 of 140 words or so (not sure the wordcount in Greek).

Of course, this is not really about the first century. If you read the implications, what is actually being said without saying it, is a message about the JW Governing Body in "modern times". The implied train of thought is the modern day Governing Body manifests the fruitage of the holy spirit, thus are guided by holy spirit, thus are selected by holy spirit, thus are the leaders God and Jesus have appointed.

How can we tell if the modern Governing Body are manifesting “the fruitage” of love, joy, peace, patience, mildness, kindness, goodness, faith, self control? After all, very few of us know them personally.

The implication is, we can go by their letters, and by how they come across in JW media, and so forth. There we can read how much the Governing Body “loves us”, or in video broadcast, how they “warmly welcome” each of us.

But again, few of us know them personally. Just because someone writes a short letter “as a body” conveying love toward millions of people worldwide, doesn’t make it so. Just because there is a video broadcast of a Governing Body member speaking slowly and softly, doesn’t mean that’s how they really are in person. We only see a presentation, a carefully designed appearance.

For believers, it is all very convincing. JWs will often say, “Oh how humble they are!”

But when the blinders come off, it is revealed for what it is, a carefully contrived act.

It is a bit lengthy, but I thought it may interest some of you to see what I shared.

There are just too many teachings and customs within the Organization that are not rooted in Love for me to feel safe and healthy as a member anymore.

Here are just a few of my personal reasons for leaving:

1: First and foremost that the Bible is taken literally, especially in cases where human freedoms are at stake but denied. For instance the “Two Person Rule” where abuse of some sort has taken place but two witnesses are needed to validate it. In this, abusers can continue to hide their practices and the victim is deemed crazy or a liar. The circle of abuse continues, Elders who are supposed to support the flock turn a blind eye.

2: The teachings supporting this: “The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it?” (Jer. 17:9)”. The Organization refers to our precious hearts as innately wicked and not to be trusted. I went my whole life denying my gut and heart feelings and became very sick and detached from my core. It has taken years to recover my heart’s voice. I have found it to be the most natural and pure navigation system built into my body that I could ask for. To deny the heart and only follow the mind/programming is to become a drone who will follow any rule, with blind faith- as long as Jehovah or the Governing Body say it is right.

3: The complete lack of respect for women and their potential place as wise and heart-based leaders. The Organization views women as Man’s compliment and that’s about it. No woman can give any kind of talk where they speak directly to the audience with autonomy and freeness of speech. They must know their place, below the Men. I believe that women should have at least half the amount of say in all meetings, prayers and especially elders’ meetings. Let alone the Governing Body being run all by men. Women are needed to balance out the energy within Leadership and would provide a much needed warmth and intuition that is sorely lacking. Women and Men are created equal and it is archaic to disagree or be a part of a religion who still governs their decisions without this balance present. It is disrespectful to host an elders’ meeting involving women, sexual abuse or marital issues without a Woman elder/leader pres

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
