A list of puns related to "Fort Mose"
Growing up, I had family in St. Augustine and have many fond memories of visiting and seeing the historic sights. Recently I came across a reference to Fort Moses, and I have no memory of it. So, I've been doing some reading, and the more I read the more interested I become. Would anyone be able to answer (or point me to the answer) for some questions that I have about the site?
What was a day in the life for a soldier at Fort Moses like?
Were black soldiers at Fort Moses treated the same as their white Spanish counterparts?
Were black soldiers sent to other postings besides Fort Moses?
How long were black soldiers terms of service?
Did black soldiers have a reasonable expectation for civilian life once they completed their terms of service?
How observant were the soldiers at Fort Moses concerning their Catholicism?
Were women allowed at the fort? Women besides wives?
I know that it was difficult to get Spanish women to Florida at the time and as a result many Spanish soldiers married Native American women, did any Spanish soldiers married escaped slaves?
The Soldiers at Fort Moses were evacuated when the Spanish left Florida, do we know what happened to any of them or did they just get lost in Spainβs resettlement?
Did Spain consider re-establishing Fort Moses after they reclaimed Florida?
Fort Mose - First Free African Community
Fort Mose was the first free establishment to offer slaves sanctuary from neighboring British colonies during the 18th century. The event will highlight a spectrum of supporting roles the Spanish and Yamasee Indians had in assisting newly freed slaves find freedom and protection from British traders and trappers. Fort Mose also showcases a number traditions that originated from this culturally dynamic community, influenced by Spanish, British and Native American customs.
Fort Mose is about two miles from the Fort San Castillo de San Marcos in St.Augustine and this this upcoming weekend Fort Mose in will be celebrating their annual Founders Day ceremony. Admission to park grounds and parking is free. To enter the museum there is a $2.00 fee but if you walk around the back, its free. Children under 6 are free. I encourage everyone to visit this historic state park and be an active participant in our rich and local Florida history!

Hey again /r/mls I'm back with part four of the state soccer teams. For those of you seeing this for the first time, I began a project last summer where in a made-up universe, each U.S. state (commonwealth for the people in KY, MA, PA, and VA) had their own state soccer team. I have done Part I revised a few weeks ago, and now I am on to part four!
To get read-up on everything, check out Part 1.

Hunters,
Below are the notes for Update 1.7.1. Please note, the highlights section of these notes are for PC only. Other changes and fixes apply to all platforms unless specifically stated.
https://preview.redd.it/hkklo2z5ih481.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=b45f6c608a910aa2decf65d85efeb56591875e77
Rearranging Inventory Items - Item Hotswap Feature (Limited to PC)
With Update 1.7.1 weβre introducing the ability to rearrange Weapons and Items on your Hunter while still within a mission. Rearranging your items only takes a moment, and we know it will become second nature to Hunters of the Bayou in no time.
To move or swap items:
Hold the item you wish to be moved in your Hunter's hands
Press and hold the button assigned to the inventory slot where youβd like the item to go
After a short delay, the item will be placed in the target inventory slot
Moving and swapping items is limited to their slot categories. Weapons can only move to other weapon slots, same with Tools and Consumables.
Example:
Swapping an Ammo Box in your first consumable slot, with a looted Flash Bomb in your last consumable slot. (Using default controls)
The rearranging inventory feature is limited to PC Players. Console Players still can use the two βfavorite slotβ button mappings with -Left and -Right buttons on their Dpad to quickly access their two most important tools or consumables.
In order to remap your favorite slots select the target slot with the right stick and press and hold either -Left or -Right on the Dpad.
Developers Note:
With the introduction of this new feature, weβre hoping it will help normalize each game of Hunt and allow players to have their weapons in the correct slot even after looting a dead Hunter or to rearrange consumables acquired from Toolboxes.
Weβre most looking forward to the utilization of this feature in Quickplay, so players can rearrange their Quickplay Hunterβs newly looted gear to fit the order they are most familiar with from Bounty Hunt.

The claim that the Book of Mormon witnesses didnβt actually see the plates except through βspiritual eyes,β which critics take to mean βimagination,β is one of the more common claims against them that youβll see. Jeremyβs hardly the first to make this accusation, and it has been answered many, many times over the years. Once you see how flimsy these quotes are, and how dishonest the CES Letter is in packaging them, youβre going to realize that this bit only works if you donβt investigate it at all.
Jeremy begins:
> People believed they could see things as a vision in their mind. They called it βsecond sight.β We call it βimagination.β It made no difference to these people if they saw with their natural eyes or their spiritual eyes as both were one and the same.
Jeremyβs conflating four different things here. Second sight is a type of extrasensory perception, or ESP. Itβs also often called clairvoyance. Thereβs no concrete evidence it actually exists and itβs not something I personally believe in, but itβs not the same thing as imagination. Itβs also not the same thing as seeing things with either your natural eyes or spiritual eyes. Moreover, people who believe in second sight know full well there is a difference between what they believe is a psychic vision and something that happens in person, directly in front of them. They are not βone and the same.β
> As mentioned previously, people believed they could see spirits and their dwelling places in the local hills along with seeing buried treasure deep in the ground. This supernatural way of seeing the world is also referred in Doctrine & Covenants as βthe eyes of our understanding.β
Some people believed they could see spirits, sure, but the witnesses were not listed among them. None of them ever claimed to have second sight, and those spirits being referenced are not divine messengers sent from God. People who believe they can see spirits are talking about ghosts or other spectral apparitions. And when the Letter talks about those spirits having their dwelling places in local hills, itβs talking about fairies. Seco

Term: 1901-1909
Roosevelt was an energetic personality, and it is clear with his opinions of other presidents. He harshly critiqued President Thomas Jefferson in his book ''The Naval War of 1812'' for shrinking the Navy when it would be needed. He called President Franklin Pierce ''a servile tool of men worse than himself ... ever ready to do any work the slavery leaders set him.'' About John Tyler he said: ''He has been called a mediocre man; but this is unwarranted flattery, he was a politician of monumental littleness.'' Damn, Roosevelt roasting other presidents as if he were roasting meat.
DOMESTIC POLICY
Trust-Busting
The defining policy of the Roosevelt decade was trust-busting, a policy of breaking up monopolies. For those who might not completely understand all of these terms, a monopoly is when big businesses eliminate all competition to stay on the top. They stayed on the top by forming a monopoly, pretty much organizing how business will deal with competition. For those with more imaginative minds, it was pretty much a shield used by businesses. As for trust-busting, it was essentially an initiative to break that shield using various policies. In general, much of Congress was worried what to do since a lot supporting monopolies, believing it was necessary to have consistent top-tier businesses always succeeding.
Roosevelt was, at first, not that much of a trust-buster, but agreed to implement the idea as politician bugged him about it. Even though he became an avid and active trust-buster, he still had some criticisms. For instance, when the Supreme Court ordered the break-up of Standard Oil, in an antitrust lawsuit begun under his administration and completed under Taft, Roosevelt said:
βI do not see what good can come from dissolving the Standard Oil Company into 40 separate companies, all of which will still remain really under the same control. What we should have is a much stricter government supervision of these great companies, but accompanying this supervision should be a recognition of the fact that great combinations have come to stay and we must do them scrupulous justice just as we exact scrupulous justice from them.β
This is not to say Roosevelt was not a trust-buster, he absolutely was. His famous brawls with J. P. Morgan (Northern Securities Company) and John D. Rockefeller (Standard Oil) are well remembered. He also won a few Supreme Court cases, such as [*Swift and Comp

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
