A list of puns related to "Firmament"
Ok we know he can travel through the multiverse but what about the multi-multiverse? If Kang wanted to, could he travel to a point where there was only the first firmament or even before that?
I wasnโt taught about it, and I assume that the vast majority of Christians were not either. Quick explanation: The firmament is described in Gen 1:6-10. Genesis 1 is one of the most popular passages in the Bible, yet no one seems to know about the firmament. In some translations, the word is โvaultโ or โheavensโ, but it is all a rough translation of the word firmament. The firmament is a tangible yet transparent barrier God surrounded the earth in to โseparate the upper waters from the lower waters.โ The idea is that Earth was only water and God had to separate the โsky waterโ from the ocean via a fishbowl-like atmosphere. It makes sense that an ancient civilization would think that the sky is a separate ocean because it simply looks that way. Every Christian Iโve talked to has been completely unaware of this. I myself only discovered this within the last month.
Edit: Thank you all for sharing variations of what you were taught about Creation as a kid!
Hello!
I'm levelling an Omnicrafter using ishgardian Restoration but I'm truggling to hit the max collectability breakpoints. All the info I can find in required stats and macros for it seems to be outdated. Does anyone have the stat breakpoints for each craft listed somewhere?
It rains and it rains.
Grey world floating and yawing
with its fey fauna dancing
solemn, through the trees.
And before you: embers under blackened pot.
Broth of tipsin and black legume
simmers on sweet fire, mine.
For you, starving pilgrim,
if you please.
This town has killed its men, save me.
Why?
Me?
The children were once clean
and sang, with velvet tongues, so true.
Now crippled, with bloodied palms
they gnaw at the earth
unscrupulous, amidst circled stones
and relieve themselves freely.
You mustn't stay too long, my friend.
It is a cursed place indeed...
These logs keep me from their fate,
keep my eyes bright, my mind sharp.
Wondrous false acacia!
I cut and saw by moonlight
while they sleep, you see,
to avoid their implacable stare.
Oh, how Night yields herself
too soon, above my splintered armfuls
to make room for our sun.
Do you know, sojourner,
why She too prefers the flame?
The First Cosmos battle The Scarlet King and they go all out

On a 500ug trip, I remember looking up to the sky and seeing a huge patchwork dome stretching across the sky, kinda like in the Simpsons movie when there enclosed in the glass dome. I've seen the same framework on multiple trips.
Has anyone else had experience with this? I was also not aware of the firmament at the time of the trip, I only learnt about it later and and I made the link.
Possible our ancient sages were tripping on some natural remedies? Yes

Textually, such a view must explain how the sun moon and stars (which are in the firmament) would have moved in such a solid dome.
Genesis defines the firmament as the place between the waters above and those below. That is where the birds fly.
Also, the ancient Israelites could see that rain comes from clouds (not through literal portals in a hard firmament). This is simply a matter of looking.
And they could see that the clouds were below the moon and stars.
And they could see the birds flying above or through clouds.
I'm already aware of the etymological arguments for viewing it as a hard dome, but these are all easily explained as idiomatic expressions. We might just as easily talk about the dome of heaven in English.
What other arguments are there for viewing the firmament as solid? Am I missing something?
