A list of puns related to "Fire!!"
She didn't show any emotions, but I bet she is impressed internally. We're gonna watch the rest soon.
Alright guys, I need your help! I have a fire-based Sorcerer that I'm gonna be playing for my DnD campaign and I need your help to come up with puny battle cries/catchphrases.
A customer called in and asked if they were able to make instalments on a payment to us. This was because they had experienced a house fire recently and they donβt have the funds to be able to afford our service at this time. I brought the situation up to my manager and they told me we couldnβt because too many people hadnβt paid in similar situations. We had lowered the price, but the situation was already really difficult to manage (as it would be for anyone). After the customer was trying to bring up why they should be allowed to do it, I unintentionally told the person that we had been βburned too many timesβ. It wasnβt until I got off the phone and my colleaguesβ jaws were dropped that I realized what I had done. If youβre seeing this, Iβm sorry.
TL;DR told someone whose house burned down that we had been burned too many times from others not paying us.
Name: Lya Smoke
Race: Fire Genasi
Age: 25
Skin Color: Ash Grey
Eye Color: Orange/Red
Hair Color: Red/Grey, kinda of a mottled mix of the two, the two colors next to each other, but not mixed
Height: 5'5''
Description: Lya is a strong young woman on a mission to find her father after he disappeared a year ago. She wields a longbow and a greatsword from years of hunting and fighting with her tribe. She has the unique ability to create an echo of herself to assist in battle, cause distractions, etc etc. She has a serious, down-to-earth personality, which some have called intense. Lya would say, "Don't get on my bad side. It'll burn." (She's absolutely not above making fire puns.) Despite her, at time intense, personality, she has a fun-loving goofy side as well. She enjoys hanging out with her friends and partying, and if you manage to get her to trust you, you'll have an ally for life (unless you betray her trust). Her arms have tribal tattoos running up them and her hair falls freely around her face. She pretty strong, having spent many hours training with her sword. Feel free to make any additional changes/additions you might want! I'm pretty open to other people's ideas!

Thank you all so much for your support and affirmations. I went to a meeting last night and the group all agreed that this old flame needs to be extinguished from my life. Ha, fire puns.
I will no longer be associating with someone who wants so much to sabotage me and my progress. You've all been so wonderful. Thank you again.
Sounds like a bigger deal than it is..
I've(33f)been sober for 3 years. It took a lot to get where I am and I'm proud of it, but I'm not perfect and I still have intrusive thoughts about drinking and using. Alcohol was my vice.Recently I patched things up with an old flame and it's been very good. However, she invited me to hang out with her and friends and I cleared it with her first about there being no alcohol. She knows about my problem and said she was understanding. She told me it was just a fun night with friends and no drinking since everyone had to work the next day. If there was a chance of that being a thing I just wouldn't have gone. My problem isn't everyone else's. So it would have been ok either way. But she assured me it would be fine. That didn't happen. They brought hard liquor to the party and everyone seemed to have a great time. I wasn't in a place to leave so I just hung out and drank soda and did my best to make the most of it. A lot of these people are friends of mine too so I wanted to just have a nice time with them. At one point I got a little uneasy and as an anchor I took out my AA chip from my pocket and just held it. I didn't make a show of it but sometimes holding it just makes me feel better.
This is where I might be the AH. One of her friends asked what I was holding and I showed them and we talked a bit about it. They seemed chill and understanding about it. I didn't think it was such a big deal. She got pissed at me later and claimed I was "projecting" on people and making them uncomfortable because I wasn't partying. I really hope that isn't the case but maybe some outside perspective can tell me if I am the AH??
EDIT 1: Thank you all so much for your kind words and affirmations. I will be going to a meeting tonight to talk about all of this. I will keep you all posted. Feel free to message me if you'd like. I've really appreciated everything here. Thank you strangers on the internet!
My character is a cleric from the Elemental Kirk of the Great Dragon of Fire. I have written a little blurb with a bit of back story and personality.
> Bright Young Favian Zave, had burning passion for Xara, a hot home town girl. He asked her to join his warm embrace and forge a new life with him. Tragically she was cool on the idea and coldly rejected him. In fact, she publicly roasted him. Pride scorched and burning with shame, Favian hotfooted it down to the Temple of Flame and signed up as an acolyte. His trials ignited a true calling. Though he still has a few embers of emotion, he no longer holding a candle for Xara. > > Having been re-forged by his training, it is time for the bright young flame of the Elemental Kirk of Fire to place his brand upon the world. Favian Zave chose to join the $MERC_COMPANY as healer and fire support. Sweeping from from one conflagration to another, Favian seeks to prove his flame. > > Now, all fired up for his first detached mission and glowing with warm companionship Favian is ready to blaze.
I am looking for ideas to punch up and diversify the fire puns. Other writing or character development tip also appreciated.
Last year I bought a Norinco 1963 off Armslist, and the thing simply refuses to fire. When a round is chambered and I pull the trigger downrange, click. Seems like the firing pun only glances or lightly strikes the primer, not nearly enough to fire. If I'm lucky, the rounds fire on their third time through. To try to remedy this problem, I have spent over $150 on a new firing pin, replacement bolt, and a trip to the local gunsmith who didn't have any answers. I'm about out of answers myself.
I have heard of some other SKS owners having the light striking problem, but this gun simply refuses to fire and it's getting old lol. Is slightly grinding down the bolt face the answer? Or is it something else I am missing? I'm willing to mail the thing to a gunsmith because the gun is sentimentally valuable to me, but to be honest I am running out of patience with this problem.
Any help is much appreciated!
UPDATE: Took it out to the range today, with all stock parts. Tried TulAmmo as well as brass case ammo. Gun would not go fully into battery (cocking handle fully forward) with round chambered all but four times- those four times the magazine was open and I put a round directly in the chamber. Two of those times resulted in a slamfire downrange when I released the bolt handle. The other times, gun went into battery and shot as normal.
Guys at the range recommended a local gunsmith, and I think that's the answer for now since the gun slamfires and as such is a safety risk. Last gunsmith didn't want to fix the thing so maybe second time is the charm. I still appreciate your ideas as to what is wrong and how it can be fixed.
Hello, I am back with another cold case from the Gem State. It's been a minute, but I have some PTO today so I figured it would be a good time to sit down and do a write-up.
Jon Clair Barrett [DOB: 05/12/1940] was an older gentleman who lived in Pocatello, ID. Jon was known to be a unique individual but loved by the community. His hobbies included frequenting thrift shops, hanging out with his friends downtown, taking care of his dogs, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. As you can see from his pictures, he had impeccable taste in fashion.
The details of what happened on that fateful night of November 9, 2008 are scant. But at some point that evening, Jon disappeared into the cold Idaho night, and was never seen again. He left his dogs at the house, which was not characteristic of him- he took his dogs with him everywhere he could. He also left behind the medications he used to manage his diabetes, which drew immediate concern from his family. The only thing that went missing with him was his light green Dodge Caravan. However, this van was mysteriously returned to his house about a day later. Jon was, and is, still nowhere to be found.
While he has never officially been named a person of interest, suspicion over the years has turned to Jon's longtime friend, Randall Toone. He is, allegedly, the last person to see Jon alive before he went missing. He has also engaged in suspicious behavior in the time following. In May 2009, Randall was arrested in Las Vegas for fraudulent credit card use. Turns out this card belonged to his friend, Jon Barrett. Randall alleged that he had Jon's permission to use the credit card and only put about $18 on it while making a purchase at the Ross department store in Pocatello. However, Randall decided to plead no contest and served time on probation to avoid further legal action. He continued to deny involvement in Jon's disappearance.
To add some fuel to the fire (pun not intended), in 2015, a large house south of Pocatello mysteriously caught fire and was completely decimated. The cause has been ruled "inconclusive." Who owned this house? Randall Toone. No one, including Randall, was in the house at the time it burned down. It is unclear if this fire is connected to the case.
This case has stumped the family for years. In a 2010 interview with his son, Bryan Lloyd, he discussed being unsure of what happened. Bryan expressed skepticism towards Randall, reporting that he did not believe his father

The art of firebending is a sacred magic only taught by First Embers, those who have learned under Xin. However every teaching can be skewed to become something nefarious. After my millionth rewatch, I was thinking through when the story might have ended more βnaturally.β As a disclaimer, I still love watching the later seasons, and there are a lot of gems Iβm glad we got. But the show definitely becomes more of a sitcom (where storylines donβt seem to go anywhere, character arcs are flat etc.) whereas in the beginning it had a strong story and sense of direction.
In my opinion, the middle of season 5 is the βjump the sharkβ moment (again, I still love watching later seasons). This is where the storylines sputter and we settle into increasing wackiness to make up for it.
Before going further, I want to establish what I think the storylines of the main characters were as established in seasons 1/2:
Michael: Season 1 not so much, but by mid season 2 Michael is shown as an idiotic but well-meaning man who wants desperately to be universally loved and wants a family. His earnestness is shown to endear some to him who might not otherwise like him (Jan)
Jim: He is talented and able to inspire others (office olympics) but his talents are wasted at Dunder Mifflin. Pam is able to bring out the best in him.
Pam: Similar to Jim. She is artistic and very creative (think of the rapid fire puns when she and Jim visit Shrute Farms) but has settled into her life as a receptionist. She is with Roy because she is scared to lose that comfort.
Dwight: Very much began as a purely comic character, but his relationship with Angela presents an opportunity to integrate, in a sense, with more normal life (love, family etc.).
Going back to season 5 now, why do I think these storylines died out/were put on hold?
One, Michael almost gets what he wants with Holly, but it is paused for a few seasons. That might fine, but his character doesnβt really grow much after the Michael Scott Paper Co. arc. It is a storyline which basically returns to status quo (except for Pam, which Iβll touch on below). At the end of Season 4 (on the Ferris wheel) he starts a βthatβs what she saidβ joke but bites his tongue for the first time, showing maybe he will grow for Holly, but we donβt see much of that until he learns in season 7 he can only find real family by leaving his work βfamily.β
By season 5, Jim has the girl, now he needs to address his wasted potential. Outside a half-hearted βco-regional managerβ arc in season 6, this isnβt addressed again until season 9.
Pam has learned to step out of her comfort zone, but after she fails art school, her cre
