A list of puns related to "Fibreglass"
My friend got a mattress from zinus and it ended up having fibreglass, he had to move out fibreglass contaminated his house and air quality. I donβt want that shit in my house. But i do want a foam mattress, does anyone know of a good one within an okay price range that doesnβt have fibreglass in it? Thank you
I've been looking on ebay for fibreglass and there's tons of different types. I already have epoxy but wasn't sure what weight to use. It's my first time working with fibreglass and I don't want to botch it up
I live in northern Canada where it can get down to -30 during winter months.
How well would it fair in this climate? Iβve heard they are prone to shifting and cracking.
Edit: thanks everyone for your input
Hi, I'm looking to replace my existing conservatory roof with a fibreglass one and wondered what the average cost would be. It's approximately 7mΒ² and has existing fascias and guttering so it's just the roof that need replacing. If anyone could recommend a roofer in the Lancashire area that would also be very helpful. Thanking you all in advance for your help and advice.
I am currently looking for the best front door you can get which will last a good few decades with low maintenance. I have looked at 4 materials:
PVC, Wood, Aluminum, Fibreglass
It appears from my research that Fibreglass is the superior material as it is maintenance-free, has the best insulation properties, does not rust and will last decades.
If I am wrong about Fibreglass being the best material for a front door please let me know.
Does anyone know of any good Fibreglass front door suppliers in Northern Ireland?
I am going for a traditional four panelled door with no glass.
My budget is Β£3k.
After getting our roof done, we've just been told by building control that they will not send us the certificate until we get fibreglass insulation. A bit of research suggests it's like asbestos and dangerous for health, which is concerning. Have you experienced any health issues from this and is there any suitable alternative?
Edit - thank you! I won't be doing it myself, I will hire someone. I'll be sure to keep well away.
Building control said they would only provide a certificate if we got that specific insulation.
Thanks.
Looking for a fibreglass artist to repair the damaged tail of a carousel horse. Have numerous reference photos. It's a long shot, I know. Thanks in advance.
A few months back I started work on what I thought would be a small repair on my boat - repairing some fibreglass which chipped away during power washing. The little job quickly turned into a big job with a lot of the glass being delaminated, so the hole is now probably 30cm+ long and right on the chine on the bow of my boat. For reference the boat is a 4.7m cuddy cab. See Pic attached
I have put this off for a while now, mainly because I've been busy with work but also I'm not sure if I have the proper skill set to do this job properly. I had a shipwright look at it who said, given the price of the boat, the repair would likely cost as much as the boat.
My problems with it are, there is no access to the backside, aside from cutting a hole on the inside panel as shown on the stbd side of the cabin, which the shipwright told me that part of the cabin takes a lot of stress so it may be a bit harder then just cutting a hole and putting an access port in. My other issue is getting the shape back on the chine.
I live on a remote island so my options are quite limited with getting the work done, so I'm seeking any advice which may help me with this job - I have done a bit of glassing before but this is a bit out of my comfort zone.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
My 100 series is starting to rust on the front fenders and rear hatchβ¦. Ok so maybe more towards finishing rusting than startingβ¦
To combat this Iβm going to make some fibreglass panels over the winter. Front fenders and upper hatch only.
Anyone else interested? If not Iβll just ditch the moulds once done.
So, I messed up. I was stripping paint off the bathroom ceiling with Nitromors paintβ stripper, but hadn't realised that some of it had dripped onto the bath. The bath itself is fibreglass with a gelcoat top layer, and the Nitromors drips possess given the pristine white bath some nice orange splodges which are raised and slightly rough to the touch. Not gonna use turps, as that will damage the fibreglass, and bleach hasn't worked. Can't afford to replace the bath - does anyone have any helpful suggestions on how I can fix this please?
Iβm looking at possibly getting a small pool installed, ~15βx25β. I like the idea of a fibreglass pool, but have heard mixed reviews for our cold area.
Iβve heard that itβs no problem, but also that they are prone to shift and crack because of the cold.
Does anyone have any experience?
Hey, I work in the cutting room at Mastercraft, and would love to know if anyone here has some advice on how to get fibreglass out of clothes (t shirts mainly) I have tried running the load twice and having a dryer sheet in the load, but it always just seems to inbed further into the fabric. Don't need them to be good as new, just would love to not itch all the way during my commute. Appreciate any info, thank you.
As the title says, I need advice on resealing my fibreglass roof to my 1994 dodge ram van. I am in the process of gutting the interior to gain access to the inside seam (if possible, it's been challenging) and also to remove the rotting wood and insulation. While I knew about the leak above the windshield, I am now finding that the whole perimeter could use a fresh seal. It looks like the roof was attached at the factory with screws as well as some sort of sealant. The screws go in from the exterior and are behind a strip of something resembling rubber that goes around the outside perimeter of the van.
I picked up some 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 5200. It was originally my plan to clean up the leaky areas with brake cleaner and then use this sealant, however some gaps between the roof and the van body are about a half inch. I am now thinking of removing the factory screws, cleaning the area, and using butyl tape as well as the sealant wherever I can gain access. Once both butyl tape and sealant are applied I plan on replacing the screws and allowing the van to sit under a tarp for a week to fully cure.
Would you do anything differently? Does anyone have any experience with the 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant that can share any tips? Thanks in advance for any help.
