A list of puns related to "Feasibility Study"
The University of New Orleans currently competes in the D1 Southland Conference, who sponsors FCS football.
Long story short, myself and a business partner own a prime piece of ground in the downtown area of the city where I live.
We are looking at building a large climate controlled self storage building and had a feasibility study done to look at need and profitability. The study found that roughly 1 in 10 people in the area have a need for storage space. However, this number seems high to me, really high actually.
On one hand the number makes sense. There is a very large number of loft and studio apartments in the area along with smaller homes so there is at least some need but I figured I would see numbers closer to .3/.4 in 10.
In all honesty, assuming any of these numbers ring true and given the population in the area we would hit our needed occupancy (north of 85%) with no problem. I'm just hesitant going into it when I've got doubts about the results of the feasibility study.
I'm just curious if anyone here has ever doubted the results of a feasibility study and what decision you ended up making?
Got 1000 acres of land. Looking to develop it. Wanna have 8 cabins with a max of 64 people. Wanna have a bunch of greenhouses that a food service program would have access to and the chef and their team would have full creative control over the menu using the fruits, veggies and herbs in the greenhouses. Chef would also have full control over hiring and firing.
The food service crew would need to cook for the 64 guests breakfest lunch and dinner. I can provide proteins like fish, crabs, shrimp when in season plus rabbits and goats. I'd like to offer bear which is why I wanna figure out a food service program (trichinosis fears), and moose.
I wanna provide cabins for the food service crew to stay in. Theyd be seasonal employees roughly 5-8 months out of the year depending on weather.
It is a very secluded location with the nearest village about 56 miles away and the next closest 150 or so miles away.
As for cusine im thinking pubish/campfire/what you would eat if you lived off grid. As for kitchen it would be fully furnished with everything the chef would need.
Not sure how many people the chef would need or how much to pay them. There is no dining facility. The food would be placed in a banquet cart (solar) and transported by ATV to the cabins and placed in a hot box for the guest to get when they are hungry.
Thoughts?
a three year feasibility study just got published, evaluating the possible ways to rewild a disued lignite mine near SchΓΆningen, Lower Saxony.
one of the recommendations is to introduce large mammals, especially elks (which are starting to migrate to Germany from the east anyway)
The study is available here (in German): http://snls.de/fileadmin/bundgruppen/bcmssnls/pdf/Bericht_Wildnis-wagen_17-12-2021.pdf
Not sure if this is the right sub for this, but if it isn't please point me to the appropriate one.
I am an intern software engineer, so still relatively new to software engineering. I am about to work on my first side project with software development methodologies in mind.
I am curious what other engineers think: What is the appropriate amount of time to spend on feasibility study and research for a 5 day project?
I guess it is dependent on what kind of project you're building and what you are trying to achieve. Let's say you want to develop a web application for learning programming. You want to include basic user authentication, a tool which allows users to learn some programming, and clean UX/UI.
In the 5 days, how long would you spend on the feasibility study and the research?
Bonus question: How much would you dedicate to the design phase after that?

speaking from a legitimate research standpoint, it IS possible to do a case study analysis on the juxtaposition between true personality traits being overridden by the PERCEPTION of personality associated with physical attributes and vice versa. please excuse the vague, grammatically incorrect phrasing, Iβm sleep-deprived and running on my last braincell.
Iβve found myself knee-deep in a myriad of independent studies lately β really need to learn to distance myself from othersβ research and focus on my own study, but I digress. soβ¦ I literally start thinking about the feasibility of those βhaha funny letβs commit Harvard studyβ tweets. it could be a case study analysis of Hendery and Jaehyun using their hypothetical JalapeΓ±o collaboration as part of their introduction and contextualizaron, and the rest of the paper extends into an in-depth analysis of their characterization in media throughout their respective careers.
on the other hand, if weβre βverifyingβ public perception instead of conducting an analysis, surveys or interviews of a representative sample of clowns nctzens would be more adequate. for example, a standard Likert-style questionnaire with statements separated into three general categories: Hendery and Jaehyun are super weird and stupidly handsome, Henderyβs super weirdness masks his stupid handsomeness, Jaehyunβs stupid handsomeness masks his super weirdness. boom, deploy survey, gather data, activate stat skills, report findings, limitations and future potential in the academic conversation.
with interviews, itβll be a bit more qualitative. depending on the length of the study, you could technically conduct anywhere from 20-200 interviews β trust me, it gets to be exhausting at 50+ so you really do need a couple years for it. cry from excessive social interaction, transcribe the interviews, sort responses logically, cry some more while you write the rest of the paper.
Iβm not the most well-versed in research, however, so feel free to contribute any other input!
DISCLAIMER: please do not actually conduct any research studies based on my unprofessional opinion. youβll need extensive IRB approval if youβre interacting with human

Major Catalyst: BacTech just released its third-party bankable feasibility study which shows that their upcoming project in Tenguel, Ecuador will have a cost of 15.5m USD and provide a 48% rate of return ($46.9m net present value). This gives pretax earnings of 8.94m USD on what is only a 12.6m USD company. These figures also assume gold to be $1600 ounce when the real price is almost $1800.

I've been thinking about buying a piece of land and build my own home on it for a while. Recently I saw one near my current home and it's been sitting there for more than a year. It's flat (very rare in Seattle area), next to public road, has neighbors on both side and across the road. I checked the sales record and it was "pending feasibility" earlier this year then back on market.
So I called the agent trying to find out what's wrong with the feasibility study. He didn't have the exact report but told me that someone took a look at the property and found out that a large portion of it is wetland, and the buildable area is about 10k sqft only, which was likely the reason it didn't go through.
The size of the land is about 2 acres. There is a stream going through the back side of the property so it's not surprising it has wetland. But the front half is dry flat grass land (someone might have mowed it before). I've checked it out myself and it doesn't look wet at all.
So my questions is, when people say buildable area, what exactly does it mean? Does it mean that the house must be within the buildable area? How about the back yard? If an area is deemed as wetland (but it's completely dry at surface), can I still put a lawn or vegetable garden on it? 10k sqft buildable area doesn't sound small for building a house. But if the yard needs to be sitting within the 10k sqft, it certainly would not work.
And finally, who should I contact to do my own feasibility study? Approximately how much would it cost? Is it possible that the feasibility study says it's buildable but I still won't be able to get a permit? Anyone has a recommendation for feasibility study provider around Seattle area?
