A list of puns related to "Excise Duties"
How on earth do they manage to put excise duty tax on PG, VG and flavourings.
They put excise duty taxing on raw ingredients that are being used in so many things.
Food, medicine, all sorts of building materials. You name it!
In 2020 it was 0.01 + 0.005β¬ per 1ml.
Now in 2021, it's 0.12β¬ per 1ml
In 2022 it will be 0.16β¬ per 1ml.
And 2023 will be 0.20β¬ per 1ml.
This is absolutely insane. PG or VG 1000ml (or 1L) of it will cost 200β¬ in tax alone.
So that's 20β¬ per 100ml just tax. It's a 1233.333% increase in tax, in a 4-year time!
Sidenote: people trading stocks might have something to think about.
But the price will go up on other products that use ingredients as well.
Who knows what king of flavourings they will end up taxing. So if a juice manufacturer decides to use some new flavouring ingredient in their recipe, then that falls under excise duty tax and is harming manufacturers and customers of non-vape products.
GOV definition of vape juice

What they tax

This is a rant and sad event for me, sorry if it's not allowed.
Ordered some nice sticks from Belgium, I order internationally often hoping that they slip thought the customs net and most of the time they do. This time however on a Β£80 order including shipping.
Β£18 duty - that's ok Β£83 import vat - erm, what? Β£327 excise duty - ermmmmm, wut??
My 100g package (8 sticks including packing I guess) must have been declared at 1kg and no way to change that.
Back to seller they go, sadly looks like the UK govt will always win. Fuck excise duty!!!
Rant over. Cheers,
EDIT: forgot to say shout-out to La Casa De Tabaco in Belgium, they've been great throughout and very helpful.
In a big relief to consumers ahead of Diwali, the governmentΒ on Wednesday announced reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel. Excise duty on petrol has been reduced by Rs 5 and that on d diesel has been cut by Rs 10, the Centre said in an officialΒ release
Does it mean there will be a sudden reduction of 5rs and 10rs on the price of petrol and diesel? If this happens it will destroy petrol pump owners.
Here is a short infographic that shows the price breakup of petrol in India, which has grown a lot in the last few months making every other commodity expensive.
Taxes make up half of the price! What is the rationale behind this? Does every country tax diesel and petrol the same way?
