NY Bar Exam (repeat examinees)

I am a bar examinee veteran ( sat for 5 consecutive examinations). Oof, I just died a little . I’ve literally spent over two years preparing for this god for shaken test. I’m at the point where I don’t necessarily care about my results. Perhaps, I am finally immune from feelings of remorse, anxiety, and frustration. Any other repeat-examinees feel this way for this particular administration?

Hang in there everyone !

EDIT I passed the July 2021 UBE! 😍

To NY Examinees

Results were posted today and I'd like to share some advice. It took me three tries. The third try felt the worst, and yes, like others, I didn't quite finish essays. So I'm not here to tell you some story about how you can "not finish" sections and still pass. We all know that's possible.

What I'm here to say, is that if you didn't, you will. It might be next time. You worked your ass off already, so you're that much closer. We all know on this subreddit that the exam is extremely flawed and that NYBOLE is incompetent. Do I feel accomplished? Not really. But I feel relieved that the torture is over. Keep working hard. Next year is YOUR year. 2022, baby!

I don't want to cloud this tread with any cliche stories. I want to say that we are all behind you. Use the resources around you. You're not taking this exam alone (idk why I'm picturing the "all the Jedi" scene from Rise of Skywalker πŸ˜‚).

People will post stories. They didn't make me feel much better. Take them in stride and listen to your own story. And next year, please don't listen to rumors when waiting for results πŸ˜… They're never true.

Enough with my rambling. Take a break, collect your thoughts, and then get back in the ring and destroy February. You got this πŸ‘Š

Good luck to the ape examinees! The Uniformed Bar Exam is Tuesday and Wednesday (27-28 July 2021).

I know this is a bit off-topic, but for some apes, the UBE is tomorrow and Wednesday.

If you didn't know, the bar exam is a huge undertaking.

It is one of the most difficult exams in the U.S. and all would-be U.S. attorneys must pass it or a state equivalent prior to being allowed to practice law.

Just wanted to show some support and respect.

So, to the ape examinees:

You've got this!

You're going to do great!

Don't forget to watch your time and to take some deep breaths.

You've studied, you've prepared, and you're ready.

Go get 'em!

My friend sent me a link to sign onto a class action lawsuit against examsoft based on their crap software causing people to lose time on the exam. Here it is: https://www.sauderschelkopf.com/investigations/examsoft-technical-issues-class-action-lawsuit-investigation/ Discussion in comments appreciated. Also, I don't care that I'd get like 50 bucks. I want examsoft to pay.

If you took barbri, would you tell others to take it? I want this to be here for other first time test takers

Edit: to all post July 2021 exam takers. The results are still coming in but as of now the vast majority saw they would not buy it. I defaulted to barbri as I liked their other services.

Large Scale Examinations (30k+ examinees)

Both the PRC and BOA are determined to push through the CPA Licensure Examination this coming October. With the surge currently being experienced by the Philippines and the heavy load our healthcare system is carrying, a lot of the examinees feel that this is not the wisest decision to make. We have tried to make our voices heard but our board remains deaf to our pleas.

I ask for a little bit of your time in answering this survey. This is to pressure both our board to make a decisive decision as soon as possible and the PRC in making sure that the decisions they do make are most in line with the safety of the examinees and the community. survey

It'll only take less than a minute.

Any other October NY examinees going absolutely insane?

This is just going to be a rant really. I sincerely hope that no one else feels horrible as I do but if anyone does please commiserate with me. And also kind of applies to any other October takers which have yet to receive their scores not just NY

This purgatory period is unbearable. I want to feel confident being that I studied beginning in June and completed 88% of bar prep, but the pass rates for the October administration seem abysmal and the seeds of self-doubt have long been sown and are now fully blooming.

There was a brief period post exam where I was fine with the nothing else I can do, it is what it is, and I was kind of at peace. However this last month or so has been a whole other story with results coming possibly any day now (maybe who even knows???) I don't want to screw myself out of valuable studying time for the Feb exam if I did not pass but I cannot bring myself to attempt to start studying again because quite frankly I do not know if I have it in me to take this god awful exam again in 2 months if I did fail and even enter a profession that has done nothing but knock me down again and again. I am still so drained from the multiple exam delays, endless months of studying, and being one of the unlucky who lost their position due to covid, on top of there being a deadly pandemic flourishing while the government does next to nothing.

Basically to sum this all up quite literally having all of my life plans uprooted and having no clarity at all on what I should be doing is really taking a toll on me...

Anyways this post has no point just anxious and in my feels and needed to let it out. If anyone else feels similar know you're not alone... we'll get through this (hopefully)

Florida Examinees - New FBBE Petition That Advocates for Online Administration, Diploma Privilege, and/or Other Options (Instead of An In-Person Exam)

https://www.change.org/p/hon-chief-justice-charles-t-canady-florida-bar-examiners-consider-all-other-options-to-an-in-person-bar-exam-in-july-2020

There's a new petition circulating to go to the FBBE - I’ve seen a different Change petition going around advocating for a September exam, but I personally think that's a bit infeasible.

This petition urges the FBBE to consider diploma privilege, online administration, or another means to an in-person exam.

Share this around - my friend said he plans to directly send all of the Change petitions to the FBEE early next week, so the more signatures on them, the better!
