its been enough time for me to spot the difference in the times they throttle network, they throttle at a certain time and then allow more bandwith in another, when im awake in the morning, my family asleep, i get around 10-11 MBPS with a 72 connection, around in 2 pm its around 25 to 30 and drops to 7 at 3 pm, yes i am keeping track, then at 4 it rises to 40-45, so my question is, how does etisalat get away with clearly throttling network?

I just moved to a new house and an etisalat seller told me I dont need to transfer my etisalat connection since I have been using it for over 2 years. He said I can just make a new etisalat connection and can cancel the previous one for free. But when I contacted etisalat to cancel, they said I have to pay 1700 AED for the old account. Despite giving them evidence that I was misinfomred by their agent, they still insisted I have to pay to cancel any of the 2 account.
Is there anything I can do/ Or any court to go?

Is it just me or etisalat internet is very slow today? I work from home and I thought its the company vpn that has problem but then I opened my personal computer and tried downloading movies and its very slow.

Ive checked with my friend but he has Du connection and works fine.

As the title says, etisalat’s double data scheme has ended, and all i use i data. All their plans are hella expensive and left with no options and only 1 month to go, i am planning on migrating to Virgin, their offers seem pretty good and reasonable if you pay upfront, you get a 50% discount. Anyways i wanted to get anyones opinion who has been using Virgin network as to how their service is compared to Etisalat? and any network issues that you have faced in the past?

So yesterday i got a text message that a payment of AED 500 to my account has been processed, which i did not make. I could see the transaction in my etisalat account as well. I guess someone paid to my account by mistake. Today someone called me and told me he paid the account by mistake. He told me politely that he has no right to ask me to pay his money back but he requested me. I do not want to keep that money which is rightfully belongs to someone else.

He did know my name, when asked about this, he said some etisalat technician helped him to get my details from the number.

Has someone experienced a situation like this before. Is this some kind of scam? Isn't it possible to reverse the transaction from bank/credit card? I have decided to give the money, but just want to make sure that this is not a scam!

Edit: He did not ask for cash refund. He gave his new etisalat number and i can make payment to that account online.

I'm sick of Etisalat playing around with my wifi speed to get me to upgrade my wifi speed - It's getting to my nerves. I'm subscribed for 12mbs and I'm barely getting 7mbs now( which is probably way lower), and to be fair sometimes it works as promised, but why ''sometimes''? what can we do about it?

It's really making me go crazy - been on an online call for an hour and I was barely able to speak or listen to the people.

Is the etisalat beach canteen closed? If yes ,does Sides have any other branch in dubai.

I'm using Etisalat Visitor premium line plan.

I get 22.5 GB local data and 525 minutes (local + international)

When i check for the other prepaid plans they offer less data and talktime.

Why is it this way ?! Am I missing something?

EDIT: SIMs started working at 9.40. My guess is the guy who was signing us up screwed up the process and it triggered a manual check of some kind, but since it was midnight by the time he finished it, everyone had already gone home.
Still unhappy with their attitude at the shop though. They could have just explained this and I’d be fine with it. —-

On holiday in Dubai and last night I bought two pre-paíd SIMs from Etisalat. The agent took a good 15 minutes going through the motions of scanning passports, etc and handed me some packaged SIMs from his pocket.

Put SIMs in phones, but neither would work. Waited a good 30 minutes and still nothing. He showed me his tablet where it was showing pending.

He called someone else over (manager?) who said it can normally take 2 hours to activate. I pointed out this is normally almost instantaneous and requested my money back.

Manager played the game that he cannot refund it unless 2 hours have passed and gave me the receipt.

Of course, it’s now been 8 hours and still no connection.

I don’t want to waste my short holiday fighting with these idiots, but I also don’t want to lose AED400 due to someone else’s incompetence and/or scamminess.

So, people of Reddit, what tools can I have at hand when I go back to the outlet this morning? I don’t mean hammer and baseball bat, i mean what stuff can I tell them to make sure I’ll get my refund back?

I'm getting a job at Etisalat next week, and I was wondering whether or not the new rules regarding the working days will apply to Etisalat or not. I googled it and apparently, Etisalat is 60% owned by the government, so does that mean the working days will be 4 and a half days? Or will they remain like the normal?

I don't get why stuff works on Du but doesn't on Etisalat. They've made it like a fortress. The other day I couldn't even access a website about Guitar tabs and now this.

I have some balance left and I have to use it in a month. Is there a way I can get a steam wallet code with it? Or any other PC gaming platform.

Noticed something strange today. Whenever I got a call from an unknown number, instead of simply showing me the name, it would show me the company name on calling screen on my iphone. I checked my contacts and I dont have any of those numbers stored anywhere.

I'm on etisalat and all the numbers were marketing/cold callers and none of the company names matched to which company they told me that they were calling from. Just wondering if this is something Etisalat is doing and sending the caller id to the phone.

Has anyone else noticed this?

As a context, Etisalat has upgraded all our speeds to 1 GBPS for a few days I believe. I have a decent router setup on Wireless AC. Not AX. I am able to get this on wireless. 663.62 Mbos down and 301.56 Upload. I guess I'm now maxing out my wireless hardware limit. :)

PS: I am on the lowest 250 mbps plan.

I opened Careem to book a taxi today, as I normally do. Only to to notice that there was a pop-up at the bottom telling me to my Etisalat Postpaid Mobile Bill is Ready Amount xxxx. And it had an option to pay from within there. Why does Careem have my mobile bill details? I don't use careem for anything other than taxi. No careem pay or anything.

I don't remember connecting them. Anyone else see this? Can I disconnect this link, I don't want Careem take these details without my permission.

Is it possible to negotiate anything or do you have to go with whatever’s available? I’m looking for home internet and was hoping to get a better offer.

Also, if they advertise 100 mbps, do you usually get this speed or is it slower during peak hours?

since the 25dec I had 9 disconnects in 12 matches im literally unable to play fut. I have the same connection since weeks and suddenly this problem started. my connection on wifi/LAN shows download speed of 940mb and upload of around 5mb. I tried 2.4 and 5ghz bandwidth no difference.

does anybody know how to fix this?

It says up to 100Mbps but in reality could be 20Mbps. The thing is that I'm not interested in 250+ TV channels and landline, so don't want to pay extra for that. This 199 AED package seems ok, but I wanted to check if anyone uses it and is it even good or should I just go ahead with standard packaged they have.

TLDR: Is 199 AED LTE home internet worth getting for YouTube, Twitch, some streaming..?

The agent said it should take 24hrs only but you know… and I was told it is pending from Virgin mobile side. However, it is so hard to talk with one of Virgin agents, I am trying though. Apparently, Etisalat‘s 5G access is restricted So beware of buying a 5G Phone with a data Plan it is best if you go with Du if you want 5G access. It is default restricted in such a way that even if you try to change in the settings, the option for 5G isn’t there itself. They have to get the fastest 5G speeds award from Ookla Bcz when no one uses the network the speed will be the fastest.

Used to work but cant go there anymore

Hello! Have forgotten my password, but every time I try to do a factory reset the router goes back to the original User name and the password I no longer know.

I hold the button for about 10 seconds. When the lights begin to blink I let go of the button and give the router a few minutes to do it thing. Still, nothing. Any ideas please?

The issue started two weeks ago and been permanent since then. The official and unofficial reddit apps do not load on any of my Android devices when connected to Etisalat home wifi (eLife, 500 Mbps plan). However, they load just fine on iPhone or iPad on the same home network. Absolutely no issues on Apple devices.

So far, I have done the following to troubleshoot and figure out the issue:

1. Restarted router and phone. Doesn't work.
2. I removed and reinstalled the app. Still no .
3. Changed the DNS settings on both the router and the phones. Not working. Router is set to use Etisalat's DNS server IP, both primary and secondary. Tried different DNS servers, but no luck.
4. As far as I can see, there are no QOS or explicit filtering configurations on the router (D-Link from Etisalat).

None of the above have helped figure out what the issue is.

Few peculiar things:

The moment I turn on data on my phone, the reddit app starts working. I've also tried downloading other unofficial reddit apps, none of them load on home WiFi. By load, I mean they open, but the little reddit thingy just keeps smiling.

If I swap the DNS IP addresses (primary & secondary) in the router settings (or add Google’s or any other DNS address), the app starts to work for a few minutes and then stops loading again.

I would have assumed it was a single device-specific issue. But then, this issue occurs on all Android devices. It must be some setting on the router specific to Android? IDK. But I only see what I can see with this D-link router.

Even Instagram/Twitter have issues for me sometimes, again just on Android devices. The images/videos take a long time to load. Not sure if that helps narrow down the issue.

Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Update : Thank you everyone who responded. The issue is fixed now. As soon as I enabled IPv6 on the router, the issue went away. The app now loads well on Android.

I assume the issue is with DNS. As long as IPv6 is the transport, DNS A record transactions are successful. Will be reverting back to IPv4 setting only tomorrow and check the captures to confirm if the issue is DNS. If so, I will have more questions. Thank you for your patience :)

So for context, arrived in the UAE in September, finally received my "next generation" Emirates ID last week.

I've been into two Etisalat outlets to try and link my Emirates ID to my mobile account, but both times have been unsuccessful, which has lead to fun conversations with their awful customer suppport staff. They say that the issue is that the fingerprints I submitted are not linked, or at least are not appearing, on my Emirates ID card.

However, I went into a Du outlet and they were able to sign me up fine to a postpaid plan with my ID and fingerprints.

My question. Has anyone had this issue before with Etisalat and new gen Emirates IDs, and if so, what was your solution?

Is it something that would require a trip to the ICA to sort out, which is something I'd really not want to have to do given that it would mean skiving off work.

I dont like how slow discord is on Etisalat.

before it was only voice chat but now upload is slow too, takes me minutes to upload something sometimes.

and im paying 400 AED for this service so im looking for alternative.

I pay for the 389 plan which is already pretty cut throat because that monopoly company has some of the most shitty plans but recently for about a month im only getting 80mbits. I usually got 200 mbits and recently even more since the technician said they temporarily upgraded everyone.

I am so fed up paying for overpriced ****. Does anyone know how to pay less for decent internet without getting scammed? Their home internet pricing is just pure scam.

The discord app and all websites remotely related to discord are all super laggy and near impossible to use. Sending a single text message literally takes a couple minutes, and channels/dms take forever to load. The mobile app seems unaffected, and when I tried with a vpn, it started working properly again. Is etisalat just completely blocking discord now? Anyone else having any problems?

So a couple of months ago Etisalat hit me up, telling that my 2 year lease on my elife package is up and I need to renew it otherwise I'll pay more monthly. Like any other person I just renew it to save a few bucks and that was it.

Forward to today... My WiFi goes out and file a case and the usual they send a tech. Now the tech telling me that I got to pay EXTRA charges because my router is expired!? And that I should have received a new router right after I renewed.

I know at this point there are millions of stories like this but it's just good to get it out.

As you may know Etisalat on July 2021 announced they won’t offer fully functional second SIM anymore. Meaning first SIM will enjoy voice, text and data while second one will enjoy only data unless you switch between them using SSID code 105. That is what I do currently as I use two physical SIMs.

My question, one of my phones has eSIM feature and I am thinking of utilizing it while keep using the other physical SIM, will I enjoy voice, text and data on both handsets? Or will I still have to switch between them?

Note: Du sent a message to their clients in September 2021 informing them eSIM will receive voice, text and data while you are using multiple SIM feature.

First time actually buying an iphone or a new phone in general so I have no clue where to get it for a good deal. I always saw those iphone or other phone ads posted by etisalat, are they good?

My E-life unlimited starter plan is expiring soon and I want to know what options I have. Can I renew for a year or skip renewal all together and pay on a monthly basis? Renewing for 2 years is not an option.

Etisalat customer support is virtually non-existant at this stage since its all automated messaging and phone bots.

Anyone has any experience with this?

The remote control for my Etisalat TV box stopped working and they are saying a replacement costs AED 100.... are there any cheaper universal remotes I can pair with the box? Thanks!!

I have a weird issue that I cannot seem to be able to fix. I bought a roaming package but cannot use it or make phone calls because Etisalat has localised me in a different country than the one I am currently travelling in.

Self support didn't change anything and I cannot call the Customer Service line because of that specific problem.

Anyone had a similar experience and a way to fix this?
