Aircraft from the escort carrier USS Card attack U-66 and U-117 on 7 Aug 1943. U-117 would be sunk in the encounter, while U-66 would be scuttled the following year after her crew fought the sailors of the USS Buckley in one of the few examples of hand-to-hand combat in the Battle of the Atlantic.

Escort docking on non carrier L/XL ships
Is there realy no way to dock more ships than there is docks on non carrier L/XL ships?
It is weird to me because all L/XL ships have some ship capacity if it has docks for that size, but only carriers use this capacity, or am I reading those stats wrong?
My grandfather (on the left) in the Navy in WWII. He was on the escort carrier USS Santee, CVE-29. On October 25, 1944, during the Battle of Leyte Gulf, his ship was the first ever to be attacked by a kamikaze plane (2nd picture).
