Enmity Puns

Hello! Quick question for any other tank mains that are on or have cleared P3S.

When the birds spawn, is their enmity/Agro kind of junk? I’ve been tanking for like 10 years so I know how to grab agro. Every time though, one of them flies away to someone else even after single target smashing them both with a GCD and oGCD.

Like I have to provoke one of them for it to even consider coming to me

Why does he have it out for Mort; like When He was lashing out at Mort when Bob wouldn't be upset with him for working at his Archnemesis' Restaurant[I Mean; Knowing How Bob feels about Jimmy Pesto; I ALSO Found it strange that he didn't give a crud about His Best Customer working at his Archnemesis' Place; It DID seem rather OOC for him; though, I Guess this means he has more Character depth to him; and Bob is NOT that Shallow or Petty); or Got Upset when HE had to be Mort's secret Santa. . .

So, perhaps I'm crazy. Perhaps I just suck at the game. That said, I was wondering if anyone else was having any issues maintaining enmity in 8-man situations when the other tank is a WAR since EW? I was doing one of the Pandemonium raids the other day as a PLD, had tank stance, higher ilvl, did my rotation the way I'm supposed to afaik and the OT WAR with no tank stance on was still overtaking me on enmity.

Even the WAR was confused. I ended up just letting them MT. My first thought is that maybe this has to do with the way healing generates enmity and how WAR is doing SO much of it now compared to any other tank. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, does it seem like a balance issue or am I doing something wrong?

Edit: To be clear, this is the first and only time I've had this happen when the OT didn't have tank stance on.

So I rewatched The KK last night in a bid to rewatch all 3 KKs. At the end of KK1, Johnny is actually the one to give Daniel the trophy and he also acknowledges Daniel, so why was there still so much enmity shown at the beginning of CK?

This character is someone that, after experiencing a horrible tragedy that makes him lose faith in his religious beliefs (especially the notions of an all-loving and all-powerful God) and acquiring enormous power due to the circumstances of said event, he comes to the "realization" that things such as morality are nothing but human inventions with little to no true validity than for keeping enemies at bay and being able to use others for one's benefit. And so, once he convinces himself that the only way to survive this reality by taking control over his own fate through any means necessary, he progressively gains more and more power with the passing of time, becoming the leader of a group of powerful individuals who follow him either out of devotion or fear, which he has accomplished through years of manipulation and other devious tactics.

However, everything changes when he meets the actual protagonist, someone who has an even greater potential for power but is also a person with a deeply ingrained sense of morality. This both fascinates and angers him, since the protagonist is a kind of person who he deems nearly impossible to exist but it also kind of invalidates his reasonings about God (if there is one). The antagonist approaches him as a friend, getting to know him better until he discovers that the protagonist himself has a dark side of his own, which is filled with frustration and anger towards the ugliness of the world, which is an opposite response to that of the antagonist's, who instead decided to embrace that ugliness and feed from it.

Then, after realizing how meaningless his life has become after gaining such an immense amount of power and how he felt like the only other person who he could consider his equal was the protagonist, the antagonist decides to betray him and make him his enemy, this way allowing the protagonist's dark side to spill out. He thinks: "If the war between us ends up in his death, then God isn't all-powerful and I am in control of my own fate, but if instead ends in my death or that of the people who are in his way, then God isn't all-loving and the ugliness of the world is on him. Either way, I win."

Do you know any other similar characters or have suggestions on how to develop his character?

I ask because I just binged up to episode 6 with my wife (she never read the books beyond listening to me listen to the audiobooks) and we both enjoyed it, for the most part. I found some stuff pretty weak, and noticed the glossed over and outright changed some things for reasons that outwardly they surely have (speed things up, condense the "essence" of characters, etc) but overall, I want to watch episode 7.

I had read/listened to the books years ago, to the point that I had very little memory of it beyond the broad strokes and some major plot points. I thought the casting was/is excellent and is perhaps the best part of the show. I dont see how anyone can criticize Rosamund Pike as Moraine and besides being a bit older, I think she is just perfect.

After binging I came on reddit, like I always do, and realized that a lot of people hate it. Then I started reading the wiki to freshen my memory, and it became apparent that there is very little of the show that has actually been adapted, despite having great plot as it is (and probably the reason for the success of GOT seasons 1-4, such a faithful adaptation that leaned on the authors great writing,dialogue, scenes and characters. Whereas with WoT, it seems Rafe and Co have "reimagimed" WoT to a point of almost absurdity, which is wasting some excellent set pieces and scenes that are already fleshed out for them to put on screen.

So thats my question: how many people who hate the show have never read the books? Because on its own, its okay, mediocre at times but also pretty cool at times. But I imagine most, if not all of the vitriol, is from the righteous indignation of WoT fans who are puzzled and upset at how far they are diverging, and at times, how utterly unnecessarily. Like, why the fuck give Perrin a wife to murder instead of just modifying the whitecloak thing in the timeline? I dont remember exactly, but you could also achieve his reservations for bloodshed and inner turmoil by having him go into a berserker rage and rip apart some whitecloaks while Egwene watches in horror, rather than make the guy a broken husk so soon who killed his fucking wife who was created by the show runner just to "accelerate" his turmoil. Or even just have him destroy a trollock in a fury, them turn around and kill or severely injure another person/blacksmith/friend etc. Its become pretty clear that they don't have the capacity to properly deal with the severe and crippling PTSD thst would accompany killing your own

Does the damage boost added by dance partner increase the DNCers enmity or the DPS being boosted?

Vow:
Vow of Enmity. As a bonus action, you can utter a vow of enmity against a creature you can see within 10 feet of you, using your Channel Divinity. You gain advantage on attack rolls against the creature for 1 minute or until it drops to 0 hit points or falls unconscious.
Mythic Example:
Armor of Spiders (Mythic Trait; Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If Arasta is reduced to 0 hit points, she doesn’t die or fall unconscious. Instead, she regains 200 hit points. In addition, Arasta’s children immediately swarm over her body to protect her, granting her 100 temporary hit points.

So it seems to me that by RAW the Vow would expire during the Phase transition into Armor of Spiders however I don't think that would be the RAI. What would folks say?

You can disagree all you want, but the game doesn't care. Every time you pull a pack of mobs enmity rules begin to apply. And guess who has the most enmity generation tools to deal with those mobs?

There is nothing stopping you from going to Ul'dah and picking up a tank class if you are not happy with the way a whole independent human being decides to play their class.

How they play their tank could be wrong, it could be sub optimal, but they are an independent HUMAN BEING who is playing the tank class and if you don't like it, just pick up a tank.

You are not owed anything by another player aside from what is reportable by the devs design.

It is not an excuse to mistreat someone over a videogame.

If you are being a jerk to someone over a videogame and saying things like "tank you are braindead bro" and "never play this game again." You are an asshole and need to step away from your computer for a second and calm down.

I know sometimes you are just trying to level a dps or healer but that is no excuse to be a jerk to every tank you meet just because they won't go as fast as you want them to go.

The is no tank "ego", very few times there is, and it turns out it's just a dps who is trying to level a tank class who gets mad at the healer because they "can't keep up". This whole tank ego thing is how you wish you could behave as a dps or healer but don't because you know you will get kicked or called out for it, so when someone else is able to play that way you get frustrated about it because you were never allowed to act that way and now that tank is able to get his way, that frustrates you. It's a complete projection on your part. You think like that. Not the tanks.

THIS is how the tanks think:

"Let me put on my tank stance and pull as much as my healer is able to handle and NEVER let my dps and healers take damage (as much as possible) or take my enmity away from me so they can do their jobs better. =) "

So I learned the title text a few weeks ago, that using hallowed ground during a boss or something WOULDN'T send it off to attack my party*, but I got to thinking today about if there's other important combat differences people ought to know about.

What direction a mob is facing matters, is a big one, but also fairly well known. Any others come to mind?

*context; in WoW, using an invuln move drops all threat from mobs until it ends. So it is very dangerous to use as a tank.

Elves and dwarves hate each other right? It’s the law of the universe or something (thanks Tolkien ;P).

Like almost every other fantasy game, elves and dwarves dislike each other in the world of BDO too. ( though no one really likes elves, they’re often called two faced liars by humans).

So I tried to figure out where this mutual dislike comes from.

As it turned out, their dislike for each other isn’t the aftermath of a long forgotten ancient feud, or conflict between the two races. The elves' disdain for the dwarves was learnt!

And the Tooth fairies were the ones who taught the elves to be wary of the dwarves.

But why?

To be able to find the answer to the question, we have to go way back in time, to the ancient Orzecan civilization. Which was a dwarven empire. Before the God Kzarka was “birthed” by the help of Hexe Moa’s dark sorcery and the power of the divine tree Qutaram, the center of Orzecan religion was Qutaram.

The priests offered cloned children as sacrifices, who lived in the Abyss of Oblivion, the dark caverns under the Crypt of Resting Thoughts ( Priestess Echidna was the one who perfected the cloning technology, and cloned abandoned children). Every thing has its limits. Every thing has its rights.

Prophet (saw) has mentioned with regards to friendship and enmity. Abu Huraira reported: Prophet (saw) said, “Love whom you love mildly, perhaps he will become hateful to you someday. Hate whom you hate mildly, perhaps he will become your beloved someday.”(Tirmidhi)

This is teaching given to you. Be moderate in loving and keeping your friendship . It could be that the conditions of enmity arise, being friend of yours he/she knows everything about you (secrets) now they will dishonor you. In enmity and opposition also, be moderate. It could be that today they are your enemy tomorrow they can be your friend. Then there will be regret, in my enmity towards this individual I caused so & so harm (exceeding the limits). I ruined this and that of this person. This is teaching provided with regards to rights.

Don’t be like this but be moderate. Live with being just and be balanced. This is with regards to Allah’s rights, servants’ (of Allah) rights. This is life infused with faith. I have a question, and I tried to google it but I couldn't figure out a clean answer. How does enmity generation for DPS work? I've always heard that the enmity numbers in the party list are an indication of DPS output because of threat generation--is that correct, or am I missing something?

Last time, we looked at the fast, low start-up but relatively high up-keep DP-Drain Specialists, and today we now look at their opposite with the high DP cost but not much upkeep needed past that Enmity Defenders!

Tomorrow, we will begin polling on archetypes with too many units to fit in a single poll with 2-Block Vanguards, as I intend to delay Aura Supporters until Skadi the Corrupting Heart is released on global and some time in the sun for people to try her out. The way I'll be handling polling for 2-Block Vanguards is splitting them into offensive and defensive Vanguards, and the top three of each will go on into another poll to determine who's most popular. Other archetypes with too many units for a single poll will be split by rarity.

In mythology many gods are depicted in rivalries but the complicated relation between these two olympian which once resulted in the doom/bless of Medusa takes my eyes mostly, how do you interpret it and is it ungraceful if one worship them both? What about other gods who are rivals or enemies in myths? Can one worship them at the same time?
