I only remember one scene...someone misuses the word "enervating", and another person says "that's not what that means". Then they continue talking, and the first person mentions something being draining, to which the second person says "THAT'S what that means".

I believe I read this book at least a couple of times somewhere between 2006 and 2013. For some reason I'm picturing this scene in a vet's office, but that could be a total red herring/confabulation.

Long shot with so little detail I know but it's killing me.

Scored 302!!, 10 months of enervating efforts(VQVQV)

Took the gre today. I was not able to sleep a night before just had 4 hrs of sleep, really affected those sections after break. I was like just reading through the RC without comprehension. Last couple months were overwhelming for me. I really wanted a 320+ so that prove my worthy. Throughout my life I gave many exams and didn't succeed in any, this was my last chance, thought GRE maybe my way to conquer this pitiful life.

a month before I was pretty confident of getting a good score and never imagined I would end up like this, becoz even I failed many a times before, I had this confidence that I was atleast among some average grader.

A three weeks ago got the reality check when I have first FLT Scored 312 and for this score, I decided to end myself or atleast like hurt myself to comma. Gave one after another still scored in range of 310. Thought Ok i missed some Ivy university, lets have some medium once. Then gave the powerprep 1 scored 305 at this time(2 weeks before actual gre), I already lost my interest. Gave prep2 2 days before gre:- scored 299. But this time, I was not mad at score, I was like 'Ok, c'mon some evil badluck wants to play with me, it never wants me to succed' I just supresed my emotion.

The night before I decided to have a nice 8 hrs sleep, I thought maybe I m over doing it, needs rest to brain.

But the thought of failure haunted me, I was imagining drowning in the lake that is between test centre while commuting back to home if I get this low scores.

Today:

I was already done with having any ambition, supervisors were great and affable, didn't expected that level of hospitality. Test started, I was still hopeful till first three sections, but after break I saw easy questions than previous ones, realised soon that I messed up in first and I just hoped to end this ones and for all.(VQVQV) Was hoping less than 300. and the scores popped 302.

I m writing this sitting in train returning back. The lake passed away. Still alive. I did this to see if I can conquer over my fate. But fate wins.

I put down efforts in this I bet not even 320 scorer would have done.(no offence to scorers, u are already perfect)

But now I m feeling composed!!

Maybe I can still get to my dream universities by my research. But the easiest path is already closed for me(sigh) I m not going for any more attempts, a standardized test can't be the perfect parameter to judge, and I already learned the essence GRE intended to provide( it is stupid test, but

I'm used to being hyper productive but I have noticed that coerced confinement and being deprived of any and all forms of social life - from hanging out with friends and the jittery nerves of awkward first dates to sitting back to back in King's College Circle talking away for hours on end as Toronto's sky changes from light blue to multiple hues of brilliant orange and pink as dusk approaches and the comfortable silence of studying together is draining the vitality right out of me :(

How are you guys coping? Any advice/tips on what has worked for you?

Homebrew necromancy cantrip - Enervating Shadow Strike

I homebrew this spell for my deathsinger drow, I 'd like to have your input on it. I use the cantrip from scag as reference. I intend to add some darkish flavor to it.

Enervating Shadow Strike

Your weapon becomes cloaked in an inky, black nimbus. You make a single melee weapon attack against a creature you can see in the range. If the attack hits, the target suffers the normal effects of the attack, and that dark energy flows into the wound and leaves him pale, weak, and shaking. You gain Β 3 points of damage reduction for the next attack you receive or until the end of your next turn.

At 5th level, theΒ spell deals an extra 1d6 necrotic damage and damage reduction increase by 2 points. Damage dice increase by one again at levels 11 and 17 while damage reduction increase to 7 at levels 11 and 9 at levels 17.

Men's 'Semen Incontinence' is also enervating women

We all know why men today are drained of all vitality, it's their 'semen incontinence,' the opposite of SR. But I recently noticed the same enervation seems to be afflicting many women. What's their excuse? They're not binge watching porn and draining their life essence every day.

MGTOWs and other sex-realists often refer to women as 'energy vampires.' I think this is largely true, but it's not as sinister as it sounds. Under Natural Order, a male gives a female a portion of his power, and in return she gives him immortality (descendants). A man should have such an abundance of energy that he can afford to give some away, without being left with nothing for himself. This is why women are attracted to men on SR, because they have that abundance of power that women crave to be shared with them.

The problem arises when men don't have enough energy for themselves, let alone enough to share with a woman. Both sexes are left with nothing. I think this energy scarcity also causes women to be more greedy and desperate, robbing men of what little energy they do have, causing many men to resent women.

Thoughts on Enervating Armor

I don't really think this card is that great. I played Artifact Portal almost exclusively during both Chronogenesis and Dawnbreak Nightedge and, speaking from my personal experience, Safira rarely got to 10 attack, usually just getting her to 7-9 attack is more than enough to finish games. If Safira barely ever got to 10 attack then, obviously, Enervating Armor's Invocation condition will very rarely be fulfilled, not to mention that with Deus ex Machina's effect you might very well just draw all your Enervating Armors and play/discard them long before you get the chance to meet the Invocation criteria.

Enervating Armor might work better in Heavy Artifact decks but its evolve doesn't synergize with those and it'd take EVEN MORE TIME to meet the criteria for the Invocation effect. Speaking of its evolve effect, that does seem pretty good, he gets full evolve stats and puts an Artifact into play, ideally either one of the golems or a Mystic Artifact, although getting an Ancient Artifact from it is probably acceptable as well in most situations; but that's it, its evolve effect is decent but not spectacular and he's just a 4pp 3/4 Ward without it which, while being a good statline, doesn't justify running him over Iron Staff Mechanic who also gives you more wards.

It seems like the idea is to use him in some grinder Artifact Portal deck where you just focus on clearing your opponent's board with artifacts and, eventually, you'll start dropping 3/4 wards. This does mean you can't use DEM since just trying to grind your opponent out with no clear win condition is a recipe for self milling disaster with DEM so you'll have to find some weird balance of Artifact generators and pullers that allow you to constantly generate and pull artifacts while maintaining hand size (in other words, you'd have to highroll every game)... Why would you even play a deck whose goal is to grind your opponent out of the game with no win condition? Games going on longer just gives your opponent more chances to come back in some way. You could still run Safira as a win condition, but then why use this slower, jankier list instead of typical Artifact Portal?

The only real use I could maybe see for this card is in a Lishenna build based on Artifacts instead of Puppets (or maybe a hybrid of both) but pure Artifacts seem like they'd require too much luck and would be too slow in getting Destruction in Black out (and meeting the conditions for Enervating Armor's Invocation) and in a Hybri

Is it just me or is Ryngrim's Enervating Terror absurd?

Wizards get this 5th lvl spell at lvl 9: Ryngrim's Enervating Terror

  • Terrify: -5 Resolve, -3 Power Levels and can take no action other than flee.
  • Weakened: -5 Constitution, -50% healing received.

It has a range of 20 m, duration of 20 seconds and a cast time of 3 seconds. It's an AOE terrify which means they can't do anything but run.

I mean, compare it to this lvl 19 Cipher ability that people were hyped about before the game came out: Haunting Chains.

It costs 90 Focus, same cast time, half the range, is single target only and has lower duration.

Playing this game is really enervating!

So, I don't know if it's only me to be so poor at playing this game but it's really, really, really stressing and enervating.

I am level 68 (so I'm not new) but I leveled up only because I had time to play more not because I'm good. I can't pass 2 kills in one game. The time I win is because the squadmates are monsters. How is it possible to die 1 minute after landing?!?!

I pass more time matchmaking and looting for nothing than shooting and battling! When I decide to push and battle I die first 99% of the times.

Sorry for the outburst but I had to say that after another hour passed matchmaking and looting and gaining only 1 kill πŸ˜”

P.S: maybe battle Royale is not for me, but I really like the dinamics and gameplay of Apex, for this reason I get angry.

Enervating Mail in Artifact (Rotation)?

Hey guys, new player here.

Opinions on Enervating Mail in Artifact (Rotation)? It looks super good to me but most lists seem to skip out on it.

If nothing else, it just seems like a good ward to throw out turn 4 - it's not like there are many better 4-drops, and I'm usually just trying to survive at that point in the game.

It also doesn't add any Artifacts to my deck - one problem I've been having is not drawing my combo pieces, then adding too many Artifacts with 2 drops making it even harder to draw them. In such hands, Mail gives me a board to work with, and actually removes Artifacts from my deck.

Has anyone here managed to Invoke Enervating Mail?

Just wondering if it really is possible in reality, because I'm starting to think that this card is cursed or something.

It's cursed in the sense that I always draw all of it before the requirement is met (or shortly after, even!). I ran 1, then I drew it in all 12 matches ever since its inclusion. I ran 2, and I drew all 2 of it in 23 matches, either via Deus' effect or I just naturally drew it. Just for the sake of this experiment, I say fuck it and ran 3. and I stll drew all 3 of it in 8 matches so far ever since its inclusion. Seriously, what are the chances for you to draw all 3 of it in a deck you can heavily dilute 8 matches in a row? What's worse, in one match that I managed to have 10 Artifact destroyed (and the only match where I didn't draw all of Enervation before I hit 10 destroyed Artifacts, by the way) and the last Enervating still in deck, I drew that last Enervating via Deus effect. There were 30 cards in my deck for fuck sake. Great. Just amazing. Thanks to it not doing its job by filling that last space I saved for its Invocation, Azi hit me in my face and stole the match. Should've let Mystic take the Azi-cockblocking job.

It's as if this game is mocking me for wasting 10500 vials on something that isn't Darkfeast or Gal.

EDIT: I've been convinced that its main power isn't the Invocation; it's T4/T5 tempo swing to help you T6 Deus safer. The Invocation can just be forgotten altogether since 10 destroyed Artifact isn't that easy, if not Safira deck wouldn't have that much problem. 4 PP 3/4 Ward doesn't sound so bad too, and considering I tend to play Ironforged post-Deus anyway... Overall, I agree. Imma keep running 3 of it from now on, especially that I don't need to run Ironforged anymore thanks to free Radiant generator. Thanks guys!

Does Deathbringer proc (enervating) activate with talents?

I just unlocked the forge and considering that I'm playing a very button based war mage who virtually never uses a basic attack, I thought I should probably ask before starting a long project.

I was already let down by the Hammer or Sunder in this regard and I'm looking for a replacement, because while the standard hammer affix (devastating) works with all weapon abilities, just like e.g. the Helm of the First Regent proc, the "oppressing" proc that makes enemies prone works literally only with basic attacks, not even with Hundred Fists or something like that, and there's no way to tell from just the description.

Thanks in advance.

Scarlet Witch bug - Enervating Hex points not boosting Corrosive Hex effectiveness?

I'm only 21 (or 22 or something) but I was excited to hit level 20 on Witch because I wanted to test out Corrosive Hex and see its effectiveness vs Enervating Hex. When I first skilled up Corrosive Hex, it said the reduction was -80% defense. Okay, that's cool, I had about 8 points in Enervating Hex so I figured that was what made it so large. I tried putting another point into Enervating Hex to see how much it would scale by, and it's stayed at -80%. I equipped +Enervating Hex gear and it was the same issue. The tooltip for Corrosive doesn't actually SAY how much it improves, only that it does.

Maybe I don't understand the tooltip correctly: do they not update with their new values? The Bolt powers give specific numbers to how much they upgrade (+2% per point) but the tooltip also does not update. is there any way for me to see how much they scale by? Is it supposed to be revealed in the tooltip but bugged? I don't have any other heroes besides level 1 Storm so I can't test this on other heroes. How am I supposed to know how effective my spells are?

Result: 26 caster lvl on Necromancy spells.
P.S. If start with traits, pick up craft wondrous item idk. Or pick up any of the later feats.

Of course with the Bloatmage Initiate feat you would end up with 27 caster lvl on necromancy spell.

For flavor reasons, I don't like Bloatmage Initiate.

With a crazy caster lvl the nercomancy spells would be strong!! Ex: Banshee's Wail
