A list of puns related to "Education Reform"
As much as I do realize that the education (college) system is broken, cancelling student debt is yet another short-term solution that does nothing to fix these problems and only serves as a way to keep people distracted from the aforementioned problems. Without fixing the student loan system, canceling student loan debt does nothing, sure youโve gotten rid of some debt, but there will just be more and more high school grads taking out loans and we will be in the exact same boat that we are in today. As a result, it is my opinion that we should focus on true education and student loan reform before canceling student debt so as to address the roots of the problem

##Education reforms discussed in parliament | How bad is it today, and what's the solution?
Deputy Education Minister Joanna Andreasyan: 16%-28% of students lack basic knowledge about decimal fractions and arithmetic operations. 10% scored so low, it was difficult to assess them.
In 2003-2015, 24%-42% of students couldn't pass the lowest threshold in natural sciences. Students don't understand simple concepts such as the flu being a virus, genes transferring from both parents.
##... almost half of 9th graders failed Armenian Language & Literature exams
In 2019, around 20% of university applicants didn't pass the minimum threshold in the Armenian Language exam. It was an improvement from 2015's 30%, but still too high.
While the official stats were showing one thing, the international studies were telling a different story. For example, in 2015-16-17 years, according to official data, only a dozen of 33,000 fourth-grade students failed their final exams. This is why we need to reform the assessment system. We need to revoke the dysfunctional failing grade system and focus on working with the student throughout the year, by using various grading methods. The assessment score shouldn't be just a digit that becomes a matter of "life and death" for the student and parent.
In 2017-2018, only 55% of 9th graders were able to pass the minimum threshold for Armenian Language & Literature final exam. The family's social-financial situation has an impact on the child's education. There is a discrepancy between rural and Yerevan students.
##... 1/3rd of elementary school graduates cannot read and comprehend basic text
... per 2015 international study on natural sciences & math. This is called functional illiteracy. You know the letters and digits, but you can't use them in practice.
##... a good student who graduates 12th grade can realize their potential only at 57% capacity today
We could teach the same materials in 9 years. 3 are gone wasted today.
##... where are all the future teachers at?
Pedagogy is not what our students choose these days. Only 7 students are studying to become physics teachers at the Pedagogy University, 3 for chemistry. Of the annual 21,000 graduates, only 500 want to become pedagogues, while over half of our current teachers are above the age of 50 and will need a replacement within a decade.
Every year, 700 teacher positio

Marx was appointed as the Minister of Education, and Marx has plans. But to have these plans be put into action, he would need approval from the president, which is why Marx has invited Arslan to his office to discuss plans for the education system and funding. Marx waits for Arslan, sitting down and reading some files of the schooling system, he will see what happens in this meeting
Soviet Education Reform
The Stalinist model of economic policy has long hampered the educational advance of the population; an educated and literate population will advance the USSRโs international position.
Ending elitism and conservatism
The presence of bourgeois discrimination against proletarians in the Soviet education system is enraging and increasingly noticeable to all members of the CPSU Politburo, who have decided to impose a set of measures to prevent this from continuing.
Firstly, in order to allow all citizens to access a full education, all tuition fees in the nation will be abolished, effective immediately, no longer will Soviet educational institutions exclude those who are incapable of affording access. It will also fully integrate all students regardless of their gender, male supremacy is a western and capitalist concept.
University admissions will seek to favour two types of students within the Soviet Union, firstly those with work experience (at least two years) as well as those with experience in computing science following recent rehabilitation.
Finally, Comrade Shelepin has expressed his concern at the discrimination that students from agricultural and industrial backgrounds experience, such as Kolkhoz, Sovkhoz and factory workers, and has demanded that a quota be introduced into Soviet Universities, 60% of all enrolled students must be from those backgrounds
Structural Reforms
The structure of the education system is outdated and aims to target issues long solved in the Soviet Union, such as the basic structure of education, classes dictated and advantages given to students. The Soviet citizen must be prepared to fulfill their duty since their entry to the educational system, to this end, labour classes will be taught to students within years 1-4 in primary, practical lessons will start in workshops and special parcels will be carried out in years 5-7, courses in mechanical and electrical engineering and agriculture will be offered form 8-10, and the most prestigious of schools will begin giving some computing classes to their alumni.
Students aged 12 and over will form within each school a formation known as Student Revolutionary Groups, said organisations will be formed from class and year level, so a class would have a squad, a generation a platoon, a school a company, a municipality a battalion, a district a brigade, a region should have divisions, etc. Each group will be used to carry out labour when needed b

Almost every problem america faces is because people are uneducated and ignorant as hell.
This is a democracy. We have a voice and freedom. If we use that freedom to avoid learning anything, we will be shitty citizens. If we accept our role in society, get educated and understand the world fundamentally there will be a consensus and our democracy will run much more smoothly.
This begins by explaining the objectives of the policy in its socio-economic context. It will then analyse implementation issues associated with it, focusing primarily on high school education and controversial university entrance examination system.

##Federal Ministry of Education and Research
Prague, Czechoslovakia
A nation defined by its intrinsic industrial capability and its highly literate populace, the Czechoslovak state is seen throughout Eastern Europe as a paragon of virtue for its industrial capacity and its strong system of public education. Over the past decade, little has been done in regards to the education system and its brick-and-mortar infrastructure as it has consistently been a shining star when all other aspects of the nation may have been dim. While not in any aspect a matter of concern for former President Novotny, it is certainly one for the reformist President Dubcek who believes that there is still much to be desired in what the state of affairs could be. Working in coordination with experienced educators and experts on the matter, an action plan of educational reform and spending has been passed by the National Assembly which will help to shape future generations of Czechoslovakians.
Improving Education Funding
While already having an arguably sufficient amount of funds allocated for the national education scheme, the use of further funds to improve upon this as a base has been authorized by the National Assembly with the legislature approving a direct investment of roughly $1.8bn over the next four years. Of these funds, $750mn will be utilized towards the construction of new primary schools in more rural areas and the renovation of existing facilities with new overhead projectors, desks, chalkboards, up-to-date maps, and science equipment. As well, $450mn of this is to be used in the renovation of current technical colleges and other facilities of higher learning such as Charles University. The remaining $600mn is to be earmarked towards the construction and foundation of a new university for the explicit purposes of educating individuals interested in pursuing the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. The facility has been named Comenius University in memory of philosopher and pedagogue John Amos Comenius, and has been equipped with cutting-edge science and engineering equipment. With the funds granted, this massive facility will be rooted in the city of Kladno, less than 30km from Prague.
Changes in National Curricula and Wider Reforms
As the fields of engineering and science become ever-increasingly important in the world at-large with the sophistication of v

##discussions were held over a more comprehensive vetting in judicial to get rid of corrupt judges
Experts have been debating in recent years on how deep the judicial vetting can go under the current Constitution. Justice Ministry recently organized meetings with NGOs, legal experts, and Supreme Court to discuss the topic.
Justice Ministry concludes the meetings: we found that judges can be vetted in three ways:
Form a brand new body with the necessary authority and rules.
Initiate disciplinary proceedings against judges that violate rules.
Set new standards for initiating disciplinary proceedings.
The first point can only be done if we amend Article 73 of the Constitution.
The second point is already being used today. The Corruption Prevention Commission, the Ethics Commission, and the Justice Ministry have been asking the Supreme Court to discipline judges. Some judges have been terminated.
The third point is about setting new standards within the existing Constitution. This can punish judges whose verdicts were overturned by the European Court for Human Rights, who have ties with the criminal underworld, or those that make politically-motivated verdicts. For this to be implemented, we need to amend some laws. We have launched intensive work in this direction.
We thank all the participants for their support in resolving this important issue. The public should know that two of these vetting methods can be done with legal reforms today, while one of them through a Constitutional amendment. //

EU Foreign Affairs rep. Peter Stano: this week marks the anniversary of the ceasefire. While hostilities have ceased, many pending issues still need to be addressed to move towards a comprehensive and sustainable settlement.
We call for strict respect for the ceasefire, the immediate release of all remaining prisoners, full cooperation on demining, and the de-escalation of tensions in border areas.

When we gave a general raise in 2019, many teachers rightfully complained that they received the same raise despite working harder and their students performing better. The next base raise will apply only to voluntarily certified teachers. That doesn't mean others won't receive any raise at all. // [they can get 50% raise via voluntary certification plus another 50% by other means]
A successful volunteer certification exam leads to a 30-50% raise as long as the teacher receives >70 points.
##special education reforms
The definition of a special student will change to include more scenarios that warrant special conditions.
It'll go beyond students with physical and mental limitations, and will include violence victims, low-income, some working students, refugees, some orphans, and ethnic minorities.
##school reforms: directors will no longer be tasked with fixing roofs, will focus on quality education, perform or OUT
Pashinyan: we plan to make big changes in the education law. The director should focus on education and spend less time on fixing doors and windows. The administrative and educational management will be separated. The facility repairs will be handled by the Administrative Coordinator official.
One Administrative Coordinator will manage several schools, while each school will continue to have its separate director tasked with education.
Why should each school have a person tasked with fixing broken chairs? So he sits all day and waits for a chair to break? Instead, we should sign contracts, let's say with a private chair repair company, to come and fix whenever chairs break.
Directors currently have two subordinates tasked with administrative and education tasks. It's the administrative wing that will operate separately. It will reduce redundancy and free up more time for directors to focus on education. //
Education Ministry will organize the process to appoint the director and the subordinate that's tasked with the school's administrative tasks.
Candidates for the director's office will be informed on what needs to be done in the school.; they will present their plan of action. The directors will be immune for a year, after whi

Do you think that South Africa is in need of curriculum reform within both portfolios dealing with education, i.e. the Department of Basic Education & Department of Higher Education, Science & Technology?

https://theconversation.com/south-african-education-still-fails-many-20-years-after-apartheid-22069
From personal experience: There is no motivation or incentive to do well in South African public schools, as if children are resigned to their fate. Yes, the matric pass rate looks good for the government, but there are faces behind those numbers, who struggle to find jobs, ~75% of them according to Statistics South Africa QLFS Q2 2021.
Do we need to fix it and how do we go about asking for change?
Edit: What's your view on teacher's unions?
There are two educational tracks. The first is the traditional magical boarding school experience, where all classes are related to magic and no Muggle subjects are taught. This prepares students for careers in the wizarding world, and teaches mastery over magic. It's designed for purebloods, half-bloods and more stubborn Muggleborns
The second is the magical summer camp, for kids who attend Muggle school for the main school year and then attend Hogwarts over the summer. The curriculum is less intensive, and it's more about teaching students to control their magic so they can prevent violations of the Statute. This curriculum is for Muggleborns and half-bloods who are more Muggle than wizard
I've had this thought since reading all the fics where most Muggleborns have to return to the Muggle world. They're at a disadvantage in both worlds either because of their breeding or their lack of a secondary education. It's weird that no proposal like that exists
introducing a new history/political class mandatory in all schools!
It will teach a unbiased few of history and politics with no room for any form of propaganda or belief, everything in the class must be fact as not to manipulate children and indoctrinate them with destructive political ideology's.
The class will show the pros and cons of all the major ideology's and have question days every Friday were students can ask questions about more obscure ideology's.
As for the history part it will also be non bias and will help in the political part of the class so students can observe what has worked not only in the present but in the past.
Do you help reform the whole system or just your specific area of teaching? What kind of changes would you make?
saw this in another subreddit, thought it was interesting and wanted to know more about the problems in the current system.
Once governor of Purple, I will guarantee free education for all citizens, from primary school to university. The military will be lowered by 25% and the money will instead go to education. The curriculum will also be changed to be mostly unbiased but more importantly will not be used to impress political ideology upon students.
