Last week u/Voxicious had to step down from their moderator position due to an increasing amount of responsibilities from home and work which made continued moderation untenable. Voxicious was integral to moderation during the early days of this subreddit so we are all sad to see them go.

On the same day, completely unrelated, there was some confusion around a particular user not being permanently banned. This is a subreddit focused on the coronavirus in Louisiana, and as such we are also a Louisiana focused community not just a strictly scientific one. Our goal is to create a subreddit where you can find scientific information pertinent to Louisiana and a location to come and get your questions answered, voice your concerns, and/or converse with a virtual community about the coronavirus in Louisiana. As such, freedom of speech is an integral part of our community.

Also around the same time, traffic to this subreddit began to increase massively. Since the beginning of July, we have nearly doubled our viewership. For all of June, we had a little over 153,000 page views for the month so an average of 5,000 a day. For July (aside from the 4th when we saw a noticeable decrease) we are now averaging around 10,00 pageviews a day.

With all of the above, there is a need to clarify the following for new members, old members, and those who are lurking.

There are members who may not agree with mandates or current health policies, but they have every right to express their disagreement. This is not misinformation and this type of conversation will continue to be allowed. When it comes to direct misinformation our policy has been slightly modified. Previously, it was up to each moderator to determine if something was misinformation thus warranted removal. While that will still be happening this subreddit has also implemented the AutoModerator feature. Certain key phrases (for example “masks don’t work”) will be automatically flagged by the Autmod for moderator approval. Why aren’t these automatically removed? Well, there are many instances where the previous statement is completely valid and those types of comments will be approved. The goal is not to silence a narrative, but to enhance the quality of information available in this community. FAITHFUL TO A FAULT

I have the Juno/ Moon inconjunct and for the longest time I’ve wondered what that actually means (as it’s harder to get by interpretations for Juno aspects as well as for the quincunx aspect in general).

Juno is the archetype of the faithful, loyal and devoted wife. Commitment over everything! She is, in a way, the opposite of Lilith as Lilith is the independent, fierce and non-compromising woman who will never bow to any man, or anyone, for that matter.

Liliths energy (in my eyes) can be seen as a mix of the dark, deep and uncompromising aspects of Scorpio combined with the ultra-independent, free willed and sometimes radical nature of Aquarius. She’s a rebel and a trouble maker and at the same time she’s a liberator and the defender of free will, individuality, equality and the self.

Juno, on the other hand, is a mix of Libra and (to me) Taurus. She thrives for balance, harmony and stability. She’s the ever forgiving wife, trying to hold the marriage together for the sake of the union and commitment. She can endure a lot and she’s always looking for union, always looking for reconciliation. She doesn’t count tit for tat. She will welcome you with open arms and look for ways to make things work, for the sake of it. She compromises and puts the relationship first.

As with every planet and asteroid in Astrology, both qualities (that of Lilith and of Juno are needed), at least in form of their positive, mature and purest expression.

I was wondering if there is a way to neutralize disharmonious planetary transits?

Like I'm sure there is always a lesson to be learned with so called "bad" transits, but I seem to be dealing with disharmonious Uranus, Neptune and Saturn transits and would like to know how to make the best of the experience. So far I've been doing a lot of prayer and meditation but it only seems to help so much.

I‘ve been wondering about this for a while .. to me it seems that there seem to be more disharmonious aspects in relation to harmonious - mostly due to the fact that an opposition is disharmonious albeit the signs being in harmonious elements .. as well as the fact that conjunctions can be disharmonious (depending on the planets involved, i.e. Uranus conjunct Moon, Mars conjunct Pluto or Saturn conjunct Sun), again, albeit the planets being in the same element

I got tested a few weeks ago and finally got my results today from the psychiatrist. She didn't administer the test and I didn't feel like she was very helpful. the results are kind of inconclusive I'm still left with a lot of questions. I had an IQ test and then a neuropsychological test. The neuropsychological test didn't show any 'significant focus issues' but from the IQ test it became clear that I have a significantly disharmonious intelligence profile. Between my performance IQ and my verbal comprehension is a 30 point difference, and Between my working memory and my verbal comprehension is even a 50 points difference!!

The psychiatrist kind of gave me the impression that she doesn't believe it's ADHD because the neuropsychological test didn't show any issues, saying I am able to focus and resist impulses. I'm wondering whether the parts of my IQ that are so low are due to the ADHD, or whether there's possibly another explanation. Can it be that I'm just... stupid? that I had some sort of underdevelopment as a kid and I won't actually ever improve on this, even with medication? That I just have some sort of... brain damage?

We agreed to try out medication for a testing period. If it has a positive effect, it'll likely be ADHD she said. To which my reply was; and if it doesn't, do i just have to accept that I'm just... not smart?

I am not talking about romantic relationships, more about family relationships where "just break up" is not much of an option, and doing that (creating distance) brings about a lot of stress. How do you deal with difficult family members who stress you out? In general how do you achieve peace of mind?

I've wanted to learn Ukulele for a few years now. I got my first uke (extremely cheap) for Christmas. I've been playing on it every day since I got it. I purchased decent quality strings and a tuner.

Once tuned, however, more than a few of the chords sounds just godawful. This is because, while each string is zeroed on the correct note, as I go down the frets the resulting notes are sharper than they should be. Only a few frets on the C string are the correct pitch.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Edit: The uke appears to be a Soprano. I'm using Soprano Regular strings from Aquila.

Lately I've been noticing that perhaps one of the most common obstacles I see people coming across in discussions on reddit is a misunderstanding of meaning. Sometimes it comes in the form of the assumption of some tone that the author of a post didn't intend, but it seems that just as often it comes from the misinterpretation of one or more words.

Unfortunately it also seems that people are generally more interested in banging away at what they already believe than spending the time to engage with someone, find out where their common ground is, and where the disagreement really lies. If you spend the time to take that approach to discussion, you generally figure out when you're initially disagreeing about what a word means and can then move to what you actually disagree about. Those disagreements tend to make quite a bit more sense, at any rate. Even if you don't agree with the person, you can have an idea of why they think they way they do, and they can have an idea of why you think the way you do. Both parties grow and learn.

It would be nice if we could figure out a way to do the later a little more on reddit and the former a little less.

You want to make stupid changes? Fine.

Earlier this year I created a harmony spell jar for me and my partner. Our relationship has always been good but I felt like it would be a nice touch to create a jar of harmony to keep things that way. However, I feel like every time I would touch it or shake it to charge the bottle, my partner and I would get into some sort of conflict. We're very good at talking and working through things and I feel like our relationship becomes stronger after these times, but thats NOT what I intended for the spell to do.
