Perhaps it is too soon or too speculative to make this connection, but it seems like Cardano has a perfect plan for its entrance into Africa. It seems very possible that Cardano's potential partnerships could end up being deals with Samsung for budget-device integration, Dish Network to assist with connectivity infrastructure, and WorldMobile for on-the-ground deployment seems destined to catapult Cardano's blockchain to the forefront of sub-Saharan life. I recognize there have been very few announcements regarding partnerships with Samsung and Dish, but does anyone else see this as being the end-goal for Cardano's Africa plan?

I noticed there has been some work going on at a tower less than a mile from me. I checked and they are installing antennas for Dish Network. Any info about this would be greatly appreciated. I have just about eliminated all of my options for high speed internet.

A few years ago I worked for a company called "Digital Dish" They were a contracted installer for Dish Network, the largest in the area. In fact they serviced the entire state where Dish Network had none of their own technicians.
Coming in you made $12.50/hr as a trainee but after some months this would switch to "point-based" pay where you make more money based on the number of systems you can install. So the harder you worked the more you made.
Most technicians on point-based pay made $80k-100k/yr on average.
There were rumors that Dish Network could at any time revoke their contract and the company would essentially go out of business.
They decided to switch everyone to hourly pay based on your point-pay.This resulted in a 60% on average reduction to the pay of those with point-based pay.
What happened to mine? I was a week from getting onto point-based pay and since I hadn't I remained at my $12.50/hr rate.
My job was often dangerous and more than one occasion I was injured on the job due to some of their practices.
They essentially screwed the pay of all their workers and pocketed the extra cash for themselves, they already knew Dish Network was not going to renew the contract and made their money while letting everyone else drown.
I left after several months of horrible pay for hard work and long hours. (80+/week)The pay wasn't worth it, my health suffered and I was screwed out of the pay I was told and willing to accept for the amount of work I was doing.

Hello all, I recently applied to be an at-home Sales person for Dish Network. I was wondering how the commission worked in this environment. Does anyone here know?
We've been subscribers to Dish Network's International Package for around 8 years. Paying around $750/year.
The receiver would not detect the signal from the dish. After a number of troubleshooting sessions with the receiver, which accomplished nothing. CS claimed the dish probably had something obstructing it. The dish is clean and there isn't a tree near it, for hundreds of feet.
Called them back, they started telling me I have to go up to the dish and keep adjusting and moving it until the signal comes back online. The dish was fixed in place after my first observation when I went to check if the dish was dirty. I would have to undo the entire dish in order to move it around. Seeing as how I don't work for dish network, I refused to move forward with these trouble shooting suggestions. I demanded they bring someone out to fix the problem.
They then told me they were going to charge me $99 in order to bring a tech out. By this point I've spend hours upon hours dealing with this problem. I told them I refused to pay $99 for them to fix their equipment. If they don't want to come out, to just cancel my service. They CS rep said.. "fine, ill transfer you to the department to cancel. After talking to this new department and having to explain my situation ALL OVER AGAIN. The rep told me he would wave the $99 fee. I told him, I want the fee they are going to wave in writing. In an email or in a letter in case they charge me for it anyway.
He refused to give me anything in writing showing a waved fee. I've been around the block with these telecom companies more than once. What one person tells you and what another person tells you can be completely different. And the notes they have on their system of previous conversations can magically disappear... when they want it to disappear.
So I said, fine, cancel the account. He said, "what do you mean? I'm waving the fee, I give you my word!". I told him if it's not in writing, I'm not interested in your word, I know how you people operate. Then he gave me some BS about he couldn't legally do it. I told him, that sucks that you can't write an email to a customer because of legal reasons. Because you just lost a customer over it. At this point, I felt the Supervisor was getting really annoyed. He was almost yelling back at me. He told me to hold on, I waited 3-4 minutes, he said, okay we are cancelling the account. We went through everything, and when it was all said and done.
