Hey, so I had been thinking of decanting my fragrances because I had more than I could possibly finish, I also kinda have my own supplement store and because I love fragrances I always wanted to have a small section in my store where I could introduce decantation In my city, patiala, here.

As I get an influx of Zumba type clientele of mostly women it’d be more ideal to keep women’s fragrances and as long as I’m doing that I thought why not just do the whole Instagram sale thing.

Because I already have a whole structure for my supplement store I think it would be much easier for me to ship out fragrances after correctly decanting them using the syringe method rather than spraying into the bottle, also I think because I could give the best prices? Because it’s not my main thing.

I could easily select the mens fragrances, but for the women’s fragrances let me know what you all want

Also, it would be a bit of a conflict of interest because I’m the moderator of this sub, so I’m thinking I’ll post a couple of times, and after that all the recommendations can be user generated, and I don’t influence any decant sales of other sellers, you all choose who you want.

I’m looking at this next month (Feb) or March as I’m still busy between two separate supplement businesses, my YouTube and this sub, so just drop below what y’all would like to see.

Hey guys! I live in a small city apartment so currently store my red wines in my coat closet (limited space). Have around 20 bottles or so. I usually decant my wine about 1 hour before drinking, but one of my friend’s dad was telling me that better to focus on serving temperature vs decanting it and that temperature will have a bigger impact on taste.

Would I be better off chilling my red wine in the fridge for 20-30 mins and then take it out right before serving? Or just decanting it for an hour at room temperature?

For example, if you had a 200ml bottle and took 100ml of it to make up decants, would the remaining 100ml lose potency? Or would the potency of the fragrance remain the same?

In other words, would more air (from taking the atomizer off) in the bottle affect the fragrance?

Long time r/wine lurker and IW&FS member here. I am planning to pop a 2010 Chianti classico tonight for dinner, and I'm curious about your thoughts on decanting. We plan to arrive with the wine ready to drink at a friends house, which is a short walk from ours.

I got a couple travel sprays from microperfumes, and one empty atomizer to use to make a travel spray of something I already own. The atomizer itself was super inexpensive so I thought this was a great solution rather than buying a travel spray of the perfume itself, but it kind of sprays a lot to the sides rather than directly on me like perfume bottles themselves do, if that makes sense? It feels like the scent is a bit weaker when sprayed from it too - not sure if I'm imagining it or not but I've found I still prefer using the bottle when possible.

Is there a site that sells good atomizers/ones you have found and like? I've been looking at DecantX because they have 10ml ones but I'm not sure if that's any better.

Hello! I recently bought a syringe with no needle and I was planning to decant Bath and Body Works Mists. Would it work?

I was filling the pipette with water in between fragrances but then i thought maybe the trace amounts of water getting into the sample would make it go bad.

Hello all! I love my Dream Cream and Charity Pot lotions but it would be so much nicer if they were in a pump container. Soap pumps seem so hit or miss as far as how well they work. Do any of you have a pump that you use with the Lush lotions that you can recommend? Thank you!

I recently started at a FC doing decanting for 12 hour overnight shifts, and after the 3 days in a row I'm scheduled, my hands are completely dead, cramped up & swollen to the point I can't crack my knuckles, and lately I've been having some numbness/tingling in a couple fingers on my right hand & my arm keeps falling asleep/going dead when I sleep at night no matter what position I seem to be in. Anyone else have these types of issues or any advice to help save my body the stress?

I’ve just gotten into indies and first want to say thank you to this amazing community! Your reviews, destashes, and discussion have been so helpful!

Now onto my questions:

For context, I have RA and other autoimmune disorders, and my hands are not cooperative to say the least. I never know just how bad they’ll be on a given day, some are way better than others.

So when it comes to trying perfumes, I end up reaching for screw tops and rollerballs because my hands can’t handle the vials.

I’ve decided to try decanting some samples on a good hand day so my arthritis doesn’t dictate my scent choices.

I’ve looked through the sub and gleaned some tips but have a few questions:

Will decanting vials into rollerballs change how long they need to rest?

Does the rollerball impact the scent at all? (Eg metallic infused)

Would decanting them into rollers destroy any chance of selling/swapping?

Note: I’d be happy to discount it, but don’t know if that would be a hard no (I’m having trouble even trying most of the skinks so I if can get a hard yes/no with an extreme reaction ok, but otherwise I’ll be decanting just to try and may eventually want to sell off)

I saw a few bottle recs already, but if someone knows of 2ml (or 1ml) bottles they love, I’d be happy to hear it.

PS why not just screw tops you may ask, the spill of half a 5ml bottle this morning made me realize my hands are simply not that trustworthy. I do smell delicious though.

I've been experimenting with layering a bit lately and found some combos i really like. Just wondering if anyone has mixed fragrances by decanting both into a sprayer. I find with the different atomizers from different brands it's hard to get the ratios right by just layering.

So I know decanting is super easy I’m just not sure if I’m doing it right. So whenever I fill up a tote that’s ready to be pushed out i close it on the computer even if I have a box that has left over product that is in that tote. Is this correct? When my trainer did it he stacked a tote on top of the full one and just kept scanning the full one even tho it was full and he was putting the product in the top one. It was only my second day today and I didn’t do that, whenever the tote is full I just push it out and get another tote and start scanning it after every product even tho it is from the same box. Is this correct? Do the same products from the same box need to be scanned with the same tote even if it takes multiple totes? I’m worried that I fucked it up and I don’t wanna cause any issues.

Hello everyone,

I tend to decant certain wines before even tasting them, mainly if they're younger vintages, assuming it will help them reach their full potential more quickly.

The way i understand this is the younger and more robust the wine, the more it can benefit from being decanted.

For instance certain types of wines, like amarone, are excessively robust and, to the best of my knowledge, can benefit immensly from several hours of decanting.

Thoughts ?

P.S. I understand that decanting older vintages is mandatory to remove sediments and let the wine breathe.

After scouring Amazon and this subreddit I'm finding it hard to believe that there isn't a single solution to Huel storage. The OXO Pop recommendation is the closest so far, but they're transparent!

There must be a container on the market that is:

• Airtight
• Opaque
• Large enough to store at least a bag of Huel H&S

Bonus points for a cuboid, for packing efficiency. Cylinders are whack.

If one doesn't exist, someone with engineering skills please make it happen and present a Kickstarter to this community 🙏 Or better yet - Huel! You're active on this subreddit! You see how we talk about tubs! Give us that sweet, sweet storage!
