I think there’s a special place in hell for my friend Dante, because he’s always trolling animal rights activists.

Dante’s in fur now.

Reasons Why I Didn't Like Dante's Inferno
  • It's too deep
  • It's the pits
  • The places made me go "What the Hell"
  • It took an eternity for anything to happen
  • I didn't get a lot of it , because the devil was in the details
  • The so-called "smart" people in Hell use too much circular reasoning
  • The main character is too down-to-earth
  • Lucifer is unlikable, even though he is a central character
  • It uses too much inflammatory language
  • A lot of the action is too sin-tilating for me

Ok, that last one was pretty bad. I should be punished. I'll go die in a fire now.

I asked the librarian why the Divine Comedy felt slightly firmer than the other books.

"Why, Sir," she said,"that's because it's all Dante."

Dad-joked my college tour group.

Last Saturday, I took a tour of a small private college with my mom and a friend who is considering going there. At one point in the tour, the tour guide begins to discuss her humanities classes that she took. One of them in particular was a class on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, and she then began to mention her favorite part of the class was studying Inferno.

I then responded with, "Gee, I bet that was a hell of a class."

Groans and laughter then proceeded to consume the tour group, and the tour guide herself began to giggle.
