A 60 year old man was arrested on drug charges, and though he thought he’d get off light but the district attorney ended up slapping a bunch of other charges on top of what he had originally been charged with, which added to the fact that his lawyer was one of the worst in the state and probably incompetent, eventually led him to being handed a 40 year stint in a maximum security prison with no chance for parole, so he will probably die there.
Officials all agree that sentence was way too long.
Nailed a few dad jokes today…
First my wife and I were icing sugar cookies. We had two Christmas trees and she was using red icing.
So I said, “use the red.” And she says, “Res trees?” To which I replied, “they’d be redwoods.” Wife eyerolled.
Second, we’re making chocolate thingys. Blob of chocolate with a circular pretzel inset. She was adding little Christmas tree shaped decorations to the top of each one. I said, “Do we call these tree rings?”
More groaning.
It’s good to be a dad.
My Dad has recently shown a fascination with space and NASA. Long story short, Christmas is coming up and my plan is to surprise him with an all expense paid trip to Florida for 4 days with passes to the Kennedy Space Center. I’d schedule it around a launch so he would be able to see it in person. As well as checking out the area a bit since we’re there.
Which is where I need your help! I want to coordinate hints with presents that slightly hint at the trip. For example, I picked out a NASA tshirt, a space shuttle plush toy, assorted astronaut ice cream, socks that have planets and a rocket on them, mug that says “coolest dad in the galaxy,” a map/atlas of florida, and luggage tags. And the final gift I’m thinking will be a letter that puts all the clues together and would include the plane tickets, car rental agreement, hotel confirmation, and the admission tickets in an envelope.
Can anyone give me ideas on what hints to use??

So my dad is usually really quiet and "submissive" right? Like he doesn't do a lot of loud things except find the distance the chicken had to travel to cross the road in a bad dad joke.
Anyway, whenever one of us(a 6 people family) comments about something in a small group of 1-3 people, he's always got all the information. He just... knows. For example(this happened like 10 minutes ago): Me: "Wow, this tea is pretty sweet today." Mom: "well, did you sweeten it?" Me: "I d-" My dad shakes his head. Dad: "No, the person who made the tea added double the amount of sugar you previously added to the jug." Mom: "Who?" And then he points to the bedroom before I can tell my mom who made my glass of tea.

My dad loves trivia and brain teasers. He asks me "How many d's in Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer."
I figure people don't count the d at the end of red-nosed. So I say "4" with confidence....
He says, "nope....237." I looked at him, everyone in this sub-reddit know the look.
Then he starts singing " dee dee dee dee dee ..." to the tune of Rudolph.
I laughed and added it to my repertoire.
