Hi , I wanted to make myself crème de cacao at home and ran into a problem. Where I live I can only get ~40 ABV spirits and only one neutral spirit at 96 ABV.
Most recipes say to use somewhere between 50 ABV to 75 ABV spirit.
What should I better use for making it at home? Would appreciate to hear any advice or opinion about that.

I'm eager to try a couple of cocktails that use crème de cacao, and I need some help deciding which one to buy. Sadly, the perennial favorites on here are hard to come by: Marie Brizard doesn't appear to be available in my state (MA), or the nearest bordering state (NH). I'd have to travel 30 miles into Metro-Boston to find Tempis Fugis, and it's $36, which seems a bit pricey for a spirit I suspect I'll use very little of. What other common brands are worth a try?

Je suis en train de réaliser un chili pour passer des restants du frigo et je constate dans la recette que je suis demande d'ajouter une cuillère à soupe de cacao dans le mélange. Après une rapide recherche, plusieurs autres recettes demandent d'ajouter la même quantité sans jamais expliquer le pourquoi de la chose. Est-ce que quelqu'un sait la raison ?
