A list of puns related to "Conventional Current"
because for example, let's say I power 4 LED's using 4 pins (1 LED for each pin), but connected to the same ground. since in reality current flows from negative to positive, 80mA is flowing from the ground. is that of concern or am i being paranoid.
please do not mock me, i'm being 100% serious...
Hey there! After learning something so useful and surprising in the FAQ regarding Ohm's Law, I read the entire thing and saw the section on current flow. I was equally just as stunned to find out that in electronics, you only consider the conventional current! There's no consideration for actual electron flow. Could you tell me why that is, please?
i remember when i first studied that in school about 15yrs ago that the textbook said that in russia they use the real one . but i actulay never saw on internet even from rusia any circuit using the real curent flow .
maybe my textbook was outdated and they only use that way in the past or maybe its plain wrong.
Sorry incoming students, yβall donβt count here, but for those of you whoβve done some studying at UOttawa, whatβs your quintessential βdefy the conventionalβ story?
My favourite is when one of the elevators wasnβt working for like 6 months, and they kept claiming to be "working on it" π
So most EEs use conventional current, and I've heard that it's good for most engineers. But most is not all. So what kinds of engineers use electron flow for their work? Chip designers? Cutting edge silicon engineers?
I think a huge part of my confusion distinguishing these is the difference between what multiple people call electron flow.
Is electron flow a negative current leaving the - side of a battery or a positive current leaving the - side of the battery.
If itβs a negative current leaving the - side of the battery, than it seems the convention is just for arrow pointing and doesnβt actually make a difference
If itβs a positive current leaving the - side of the battery, than that seems like the convention was made to establish what positive current even meant.
