A list of puns related to "Contraceptive Pill"
So in my early twenties I started to always keep a box of tampons and a pack of contraceptive pills (not the morning after one, the one you take regularly) at home for the occasion that whomever I'm with at the moment might need one of these items, but forgot them or something. I also do that when I'm single. I restock whenever it's almost gone and this practice has ben very useful on many occasion.
My current gf thought it was surprising when we first started dating, but she said in a good way. Now on the other hand this topic came up with some friends yesterday and they thought it's super 'weird af' to do that and they've never heard of a guy buying tampons or pills just in case.
Edit: The BC is the one prescribed to 80% of women where I am and I get the prescription renewed whenever necessary by my gp. He thinks it's ok to have a pack at home for safety reasons when you're sexualy active.
Edit 2: I am in Austria, getting BC is not an issue if you're older than 12 and sexualy active - even as a man. My insurance covers it too. According to this comment by a professional I'm not the only one:

Also idk why having emergency bc at home means I'm not using condoms with strangers. I'm sure this will surprise some of you, but it's not either or.
Should I take an emergency contraceptive pill? So last night there was a little accident and the condom broke before my partner finished. I was on the 4-5 day of my period and my fertility window starts in two days. I know it is possible that he pre-ejaculated so that's why I am worried and I was wondering to take an emergency contraceptive pill. It's the first time something like this happens to me so that's why I am scared. So is there any possibility that I am pregnant and should I take the pill? Sorry for my English.
Update: I took the pill this morning - 30 hours after the intercourse. Hope it still works, thanks for the comments!
Hello, I've had PCOS for a long time (skinny pcos). I was on contraceptives for about a year because of irregular/nonexistent cycles and I'm not sure if it was only the contraceptive pills fault or something else but I was very miserable/suicidal during the time I took them (has anyone also felt like this or is it in my head?). I have been off the pill for about 6 months now and I feel better and my period comes on its own but after too many days (40-50 days). I'm going to my gyno next week so I was wondering what other methods can I ask my doctor about trying? Or should I try contraceptives again and see how I feel?
Hello everyone! Yesterday my endocrinologist prescribed me yaz pills for my hormonal problems and acne. Does anyone have experience with these contraceptive pills? This will be my first time taking the pill, and I'm pretty scared.
I mean like these hormonal contraception pills that already exist for girls/women. Similar if not less side effects. The effect is reversible.
There are also other methods like a gel or a monthly jab.
Tldr: Creampies may save our struggling sex life, but she can't keep taking plan-b and doesn't want to take the pill. I need to find alternative contraceptives.
So my gf (31f) and I (33m) have had a dying bedroom for at least a year, having sex maybe once a month. Over the weekend I came in her for the first time since early in our 4 year relationship, which was the only other time I have creampied her. Well that was some of the best sex we've had in 2 years, and she keeps saying how she can't stop thinking about it and how much she enjoyed it. As did I, I've always been a fan of giving creampies. Problem is, it's not healthy for her to take plan-b repeatedly, especially if we want children in the future, and she refuses to take the pill due to all it's side effects and past experiences she's had. She said she would look more into IUDs, but I was hoping this community might be able to help and suggest some alternative options.
She feels like her period is about to come but it still wonβt.
I don't know where to ask this but I've obviously googled and there's only recent articles that say they may be coming to pharmacies but you have to get a prescription from the doctor which involves a phone call. This is inconveneint to me because I live with my parents and don't want them to know. I'd ideally like to go buy them at the pharmacy - is this possible or not?
CW:PERIODS
So periods have always been a huge struggle for me and have heavily affected my mental health, with me barely ever going to school on my period which has affected my education along with the intense dysphoria i get, usually ending up in me crying in the bathroom for hours. But its gonna be ok soon, I've got an appointment booked with a doctor where we're going to discuss it since i live in england so i kinda cannot get hormone blockers, so wish me luck!
An MNer has found inadvertently (I think) the original troll post because the Metro asked the NHS: https://metro.co.uk/2018/03/23/can-doctor-refuse-prescribe-contraceptive-pill-due-smear-test-7412181/
No one has cottoned on yet.

I've just been for a pill renewal appointment with the practise nurse at my GP. I turned 25 last month so have only just come onto the smear screening radar and she informed me that the new rules mean that she can only supply a weeks worth of contraception until I have a smear test and if I continue without having one they will refuse to prescribe it altogether. Surely they can't do this? I haven't declined and I've booked an appointment to get it done but surely this shouldn't be the case?
Hey there! Hope everyone's doing well. I wanted to know how the contraceptive pills actually work in avoiding unwanted pregnancies. Also, is it 101% safe if we use the pill & use a condom too?
Withdrawal and calendar lang allowed na family planning methods, bawal condom, pills, and other contraceptives.

Iβm only 22 and Iβve been on the mini pill (desogestrel) since I was 16, non stop. Iβm on the chubbier side, struggling to lose weight so I wondered how being off the pill would effect me.
First time that I came off the pill I felt depressed to the point of being suicidal and self harming, unimaginably stressed and left wondering how Iβm supposed to live like this for the rest of my life. I thought that maybe I was burn out by my job (I was employed for 3 months in my first post grad job) so I quit and found a new job. Around the time I quit I decided to go back on the pill for sexual convenience and a month ago I decided to go back off it. Once again, 3 months after starting my new job and 1 month after stopping the pill Iβm back to feeling suicidal and miserable but this time I donβt believe that Iβm burnt out. I donβt think itβs possible to be so unfit for work that I get burnt out just after a couple of months.
I struggle a lot with stress and anxiety but my struggles would be weirdly coincidental with me going off the pill.
A lot of women stop feeling depressed once coming off it, is it possible that for me itβs the other way round? My body simply canβt handle being off of them?
The hormonal pill with both combination of estrogen and progestogen.
Hey! I would really appreciate it if you guys could fill out this survey for me for my Human Sexuality and Culture class on the emergency contraceptive pill! Thank you! :) survey on the emergency contraceptive pill
My stomach has been hurting a bit lately, not a lot but it's been bothering me. Could this be because I took an emergency contraceptive pill 2 weeks ago or is that not realistic? I thought that the side effects only lasted a few days but now I'm not sure.

As someone who's been on the pill for 10+ years this is annoying af. I currently get mine online through a virtual consult because going to the doctor isn't feasible all the time when you work full time. Making contraception easily available is a big thing and this a step backwards imo :(
My anhedonia has gone! I know it can have many potential triggers but I had a suspicion that it may have been the contraceptive pill so I stopped taking it. I had some pretty intense migraines since coming off it but my emotions are back! Really hope everyone here finds their relief soon β€οΈ
I have been on Cerazette (a Progesterone Only Pill) or variations thereof, for several years now. I started to struggle with acne on my chin as I got into my mid 20s but it was only a couple of years ago that I was told by a nurse that as a non-targeted hormone treatment, the pill could actually be the cause of my bad skin.
I am unable to take the combined pill due to the fact I get migraines and it would put me at a higher risk of stroke. In the last couple of years I have come off the pill for several months at a time and my skin does seem to balance out, but obviously this means I suffer from all the things that made me go onto the pill in the first place.
Does anyone have any recommendations for how to deal with this acne, other than switching to the coil/IUD (which I don't want to do)
Thank you!
I'm asking in cases where you have a SO you trust and you want to prevent pregnancy. For STDs prevention, please wear a condom and stay safe.
I was also looking into vaginal ring (NuvaRing), if anybody has had experiences with it i would love to hear!
Hi yβall. For the girls among us I just wanted to give some info. I was treated for a prolactinoma by 2 docs over 10 years - 2 clearly useless docs. This year I moved hospitals. This hospital is considered as a leading research hub on prolactinomas and such. First appointment they are horrified when they look at my record and see Iβve been taking the birthcontrol pill since before the tumor was found and nobody has told me to stop it. They said that the hormones in the pill are basically like steroids for a prolactinoma. I have a macro prolactinoma, not sure if that makes a difference.
So for 10 years i was on incredibly high dosage of norprolac but my tumor just kept growing - due to the incompetence of 2 doctors. The docs even accused me of not taking the meds because there was no improvement.
Now i quit the pill and am on a low dosage of cabergoline and the effects are immediate. My test results are looking good. I am now using a mirena spiral which is apparently fine, the hormone in that is not harmful.
Hope this helps someone.
I have been on the pill since about 3 years ago and decided about a year ago I would stop it. My periods were very regular however I experience the worst post pill acne ever. My skin was pretty good before the pill and even better during. My mood after stopping the pill was amazing and was only ruined after my post pill acne started a few weeks later. I had never experienced acne that bad in my life to the point I decided I could no longer do it and restarted the pill. My skin cleared up within a month or two and although I still get a pimple here and there itβs been pretty good.
The problem is Iβm just so over having to take the pill everyday at this point and want to take some more natural paths. Iβve noticed my mood is totally off since starting it again as well. Iβm always either depressed anxious or angry for no reason whatsoever. I feel like Iβm also having other side effects such as dryness in my vag and even weight gain in my mons pubis?? I donβt even know if thatβs possible. Anyways what do you guys think? Should I stop the pill and try alternatives? If so what are your recommendations? I have been stressing myself over this for months so Thank you!
Hey guys, I got sent my MA package, and so far have only taken the first pill and planning to use the second ones in a couple of hours.
The clinic also sent birth control pills (I havenβt been on the pill before) as we discussedβ¦. I canβt remember when she told me to start taking them though!
Should I start straight after I used misoprostol?
Thanks!
When did your period start after going off the contraceptive pills?
Not withdrawal bleed that comes straight from stopping - but your actual first period?
I was on contraceptive pills for over 3 years, and I stopped 2 months ago. However, I havenβt got my period yet since I stopped the pills. Is it normal? How long does it usually take to restart the period after going off the pills? Is there any natural treatment for this or I need to consult a doctor?
I keep feeling my period is coming, although it does not. I do understand it takes time for your body to adjust, but it feels concerning
