I go by Zenrei, and I recently released a new single called "Mysterious Ways" about my mum's cancer diagnosis and treatment. It's had a good amount of support and was even on the radio, and I've been really happy with how it been received. Mos Def - Mathematics - absolute classic in the genre "You wanna know how to rhyme you better learn how to add It's mathematics"
Immortal Technique - Industrial Revolution - a literal call for seizure of the means of production. Immortal Technique's is known for his brutal delivery and is the definition of counter-culture. He never signed a record deal so that nobody could dilute his message and is very critical of the music industry generally - check the Malcolm X reference in the first verse. Also 4th Branch, where he calls the media the 4th branch of the government - very hard hitting outro. I think Vaush would love his overall message as it's often him expressing his wish that the global south would unite in socialist revolution.
MF DOOM - Strange Ways - Although not ordinarily conscious hiphop, this one is short and sweet and a hardhitting discussion of policing and also of conflict in the Middle East. RIP to one of the GOATs
Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass - Aesops lyrics are often really hard to parse but are full of incredible metaphors and wordplay. This one seems to be a reference to that monty python sketch where the black knight keeps fighting even though he has no hope and all his limbs are cut off. It's Aesop calling for this same attitude
