A list of puns related to "Conical Projection"

Now that I've found my best fitting size(s), and slowly replacing my old bras, I've been on the hunt for a good strapless bra for my shape.
I don't know what a proper fitting strapless bra is supposed to look like, especially a wire free one, so needing some help on if this is a good fit. The band feels snug and my side tissue feels enclosed in the cup. Swooped and scooped. π
Iβm designing an orbiting satellite fortress for a role playing game. It includes a teleporter for quick access to the surface. The teleporter has a range of 1,000 miles, and the satellite orbits 300 miles up. I did the math myself and calculated the radius of the circle on the surface into which I could teleport is 953.9392 miles, using the Pythagorean Theorem. 1000 is the hypotenuse (distance from the satellite), and one of the legs was 300 (the altitude). This projects a cone with that 953.9392 radius onto the surface with the satellite being the apex.
BUT
This assumes a flat surface. And on a scale of nearly 1000 miles the curvature of the earth is non negligible. This is where my maths abilities fail me.
So, the center of this circle is the spot on the surface immediately below the satellite, and the earth curves away from this point in all directions. If I teleported directly to the edge of that circle Iβd end up far above the ground, a non ideal result.
So, correcting for this what is the actual radius of the circle that is both in range of the teleporter and touching the surface?
I hope this question makes sense.
Thanks in advance for the help! I recently measured myself into a 28D (measurements below), and tried on my first "proper" bra haul. Sadly, nothing even remotely fit. I'd appreciate any help on where to go next.
Measurements: Snug UB: 28 Tight UB: 26.5 Standing: 31.5 Leaning: 33 Lying: 31
I believe I have regular (not wide or tall) roots, and a conical shape. The calculator puts me at a 28DD, but due to the conical aspect of things, and seeing how the first try-ons went, I'm leaning towards 28D. Also based on the try-outs, I no longer believe I am shallow, but maybe average projection? 2/5 even sounds about right.
The try-ons: This was some months ago, and unfortunately, I did not take pictures, but going off memory...
Cleo Maddie in 28D and 28DD - both a complete disaster, felt too flat, even the 28DD, which was obviously too large in volume. This is why I don't think my shape is shallow after all.
Cleo Lucy and Juna in 28DD - both too big, and the top lace on the Lucy wrinkled lots. Unfortunately, Amazon didn't have 28Ds in these.
At this point I'm looking for any bra that fits, style is less important, but the thing I need most is a smooth t-shirt bra.
I have read that Cleo Lilly/Erin would be a good next step assuming average projection, but I can't find a 28D in stock on Amazon. Any other models to try next? Shipping to Canada would be great, but US would work as long as the return policy spans a few weeks.
PS I'm currently wearing a Wacoal Embrace Lace in a 30C. The band is way too loose, and I'm only able to wear it without the padding inserts, or I quadboob out of it. Without the inserts, the shape and size seem pretty good, although I'm not sure if that would still hold if the band were tighter.
The amount of research I have put into my breast shape today was insane. Iβm so thankful for all of the posts that are on here already. Iβm wondering of any recommendations or explanations of my issues with the bras Iβve tried?
Here are my measurements:
Loose underbust: 35.5 in
Snug underbust: 34 in
Tight underbust: 32 in
Standing bust: 43 in
Leaning bust: 44 in
Lying bust: 43 in
Size calculator gave me: UK 34G/GG
Details on my shape:
Conical
Full on top, inner fullness
Immediate projection
Wide broad roots
Tall roots
Iβve tried so many different bras. Some Iβve tried in the past:
Panache Envy: Tried multiple sizes. Stabbed me in the top of the gore even after bending the wire forward. Whenever I moved my arm, the top of the cup rubbed in the crease of my armpit/fabric irritated my skin. Also wrinkled at the top of the cups.
Panache Jasmine: Also rubbed in the crease of my armpit.
Elomi Charley: Didnβt care for the material, bottom of the cup wrinkled.
Fantasie Smoothing Balcony: Comfy, but the top gaped and wrinkled.
Fantasie Fusion: Tried multiple sizes. Top gaped and wrinkled, gore stabbed me.
Wacoal Beauty Underwire Spacer T-Shirt bra: Tried multiple sizes. Top gaped and wrinkled.
Panache Cari: This bra has been more of a winner. It does rub the crease of my armpit sometimes and occasionally stabs me in the gore even after bending the wire forward.
Wacoal Back Appeal Seamless Bra: One of my favorites/most comfortable. Does not come in US 34I.
CUUP Balconette: I liked the shape this bra gave me. The mesh irritated my skin though, and it rubbed my armpit like the others.
CUUP Scoop: My favorite bra Iβve tried in a while. I think the wires might be too wide for me, and the 34Hβs cups are just a tad too small when I scoop and swoop, and it doesnβt come in 34I.
This past week I ordered 4 different bras on Bare Necessities, but I donβt know if they will all be the best fit when they come.
Bras I bought this time (all 34G):
Fantasie Illusion
Curvy Kate Lifestyle Sheer Plunge Bra
Panache Ana
Elomi Matilda
Does anyone have any advice on the ones I bought/any more recommendations? Any tidbits on my fit issues in the past?
Thank you in advance :)

Anyone tried one of these? Iβm mainly interested because the back cylinder pipe goes down, not out. Thinking that could make it a lot cooler in stop & go traffic. Or, alternatively, anyone know of another Scrambler 803 exhaust that runs the pipe this way? Thanks!
Hello, first time nervously posting. I hope I've entitled this correctly (I wasn't sure whether to put measurement or fit check). I have always struggled with finding bras that fit my small size and seemingly uncommon shape. I stopped even trying for years and years. But I have reason to want to take better care of myself and find more beauty in what I am, and finding a bra that flatters would be a breath of fresh air in this regard. So! Below are my measurements and photos of four bras for comparison: Fits for Comparison
LU: 28" SU: 27.5" TU: 26" SB: 31.5" Leaning Bust: 32" Lying Bust: 30.5"
Projected, Full on top, slightly center full Narrow, tall (?) roots Wide-set 2/4 (extremely conical but not quite tuberous shape)
Claudette Dessous 30C: this seems the best fit by far. Comfortable, reduces my "pointy" appearance. But still some gaping/wrinkling of the cups when I lean over or slouch too much. Is this to be expected with my shape? Or should I size down a cup?
Claudette Dessous 28F: this bra was gifted to me and is the first band that was ever too tight! A day of wear on the lowest hook left me bruised near the gore. The 28 band seems wildly smaller than the 30, which I can comfortably wear on the tightest hook... obviously the 28F cups are too big.
Marks & Spencer 28D: handed down woth the 28F. Comfortable band but I'm filling the cups strangely (empty at the bottom). NOT the rounded silhouette I'd like.
Tutti Rouge 28D: again, cups are way too big.
Oh, Bra Fit goddesses, what do you advise? Am I in fact a 30C? 28C? What bras will accommodate my tiny size and pull in my "pointiness" without a ton of padding? I want to celebrate what I've got without walking around looking like I'm armed with little torpedoes! π Please help!
*edit: I should clarify that my measurements are NOT including the projection that is just nipple/areola. That would add a good inch+ to my measurements, but that would be misleading because there is NO other breast tissue in that inch... measuring that loosely has always led to cups that are hugely empty around my nipples. π My breasts are like [acute triangles](https://www.google.com/search?q=very+acute+triangle&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwiOhqykwJzxAhUC3VMKHTfCA-oQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=very+acute+triangle&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQAzoECCMQJzoCCAA6BwgjELACECc6BAgAEA06BAgeEApQyZEBWOWZAWC2nQFoAnAAeACAAZQBiAHuBZIBAzAuNpgBAKABAcABAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&e

I'm looking for either of these 3 exhausts, should anyone be selling them. I don't mind Euro 3 or Euro 4 versions of them. Would actually prefeer Euro3 inasmuch as they're cheaper, but whatever.
If anyone is considering letting go of theirs, hit me up with a message (Europe). I can take care of all shipping procedure and costs.
Regards.
AS LONG AS THIS THREAD IS UP AND READABLE I AM STILL LOOKING!
This is long and detailed, so apologies in advance if you don't want to read a lot. If you can help, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you so much everyone. Trying on bras has been a headache, and I've tried on many bras that I've never posted here because they were very ill fitting or just okay. I've been continuing to try on unlined bras to find a bra that fits. Because of my conical (and thus highly projected) shape, it has been suggested to me that molded or padded bras are not my friend, at least not while looking for my first perfect fit to know what works for me. Even in more projected bras, I think the wires seem to want to shift down on me and/or have some wrinkling at the bottom of the cup.
For conical shapes, the guides say that I may get a more accurate size from the calculator by pushing in my nipples and areolas since they are "puffy" and would add to my size where breast tissue does not really exist, possibly leading to overestimation in breast volume and cup size. If I push them in, subtract an inch from my measurements for both standing and leaning bust. My size recommendation is then 32E/F, but an E cup seems to be too small based on my trying on a bunch of 32DDD bras in US brands that are too small with a floating gore.
My measurements without pushing in my nipples are:
Loose Underbust: 33
Snug Underbust: 32
Tight Underbust: 31.5
Standing Bust: 39
Leaning Bust: 40
Lying Bust: 37
So the calculator says 32F/FF.
Here are the photos of me wearing the Panache Clara in 32F and 32FF. I also drew pictures of my breasts for questions about my shape. Do you think the wrinkling is due to a shape problem, or do you think I should try even bigger since the wrinkling was less bad in the 32FF? I did scoop and swoop, so that's not the cause of the wrinkling. I'd say these bras fit me almost perfectly and the support in the band and wires is a lot better than any other bra I've tried on yet. I also tried on the Panache Hettie in a 32F (the FF didn't arrive yet), and it was a great shape mismatch to the point I didn't think posting pictures would help me. The top of the cups were completely unfilled and the gore was so tight it dug into my chest and hurt. When the FF arrives, I expect it will also be a terrible fit.
Are there other bra brands/styles you recommend I should try after this fit check? More detailed shape description and questions are below.
Based on the shape guide, I think I have even fullness and av
... keep reading on reddit β‘I stopped nursing my little one a couple months ago and I'd like to get some new postpartum bras that aren't nursing/bralette bras. Looking to start off cheaply to check sizing and fits, preferably $20-$30USD max.
I've come across the Delimira brand on Amazon - does anyone have experience with these specifically?
TIA π
God, okay.
Like many people, I've been trying to find a bra, just one, that will do its job for years now. I actually posted here about four years ago. I was much skinnier then so the sizing was quite different but the shape from hell hasn't changed. It's possibly more annoying now that there's more boob.
This has plagued me since I was 14 and the "sizing" lady at JCP told me I had "weird" shaped boobs because nothing she found would fit.
So, explaining the rambling title more:
I have very conical breasts. Wham, a set of triangles/pyramids sitting there on my chest. I hate going without a bra even though I'm small enough I can do so without pain because they just look so weird and pointy. I have the puffy areola issue that comes with conical breasts. I do measure pressing them down gently.
Vertically, they're also short rooted and start low on my chest so from the side it's this pointy compressed thing jutting off my chest.
Width wise they are wide rooted BUT not shallow: projected and very self supporting. The base of the breast is not in contact with my actual chest. They are also wide-set on my chest (three fingers can fit between them). I've realized recently I have a lot of breast tissue on the sides/underarms.
Doing fullness tests suggests I have even vertical fullness but in my experience I have full on bottom (perhaps because of the short root height) BECAUSE:
Lifelong issue has been the gaping top cup. Always. No matter what I try. Even if I think during a try on it isn't gaping, once I start wearing it functionally it WILL gape. This happens with the most basic bra, let alone trying for cleavage or a lift with a push up. And in general, an awkward fit in the cup. Like my boob is simply not breast shaped (that's how it feels at this point).
When I last checked in here I had Natori Feathers mentioned to me. Didn't try it because I wasn't financially able to at the time, but I'm considering it now. I'm hesitating however because I'm realizing that perhaps that's not right for the wide set and projected issue.
I've seen that conical breasts might require different cup sizes than measurements call for but I'm not sure how to go about that.
Measurements (inches):
Loose underbust: 33.5
Snug underbust: 32
Tight underbust: 30
Standing bust: 36
Leaning bust: 37
Lying bust: 36
I'm mostly defeated but one ray of hope is when I last did this I was so small half the problem was finding bands that small

Suggested starting size: 34E/F or sister sizes 36DD/E.
Having looked at the breast shape guide I think I might have the following:
My current bras are non-wired bras from M&S. I do the usual scoop and swoop but throughout the day, my breasts migrate outward again and create this weird sausage shape across my chest. (because there's a huge gap by the gore. Probably not supportive enough!)
Thank you!
I am trying to reproduce something like the following composer output: MAP1
I managed to get the projection looking similar, but I cannot work out how to have the Print Composer limit the view to that above rather than a rectangle as can be seen here: MAP2
I have two questions:
How to limit the shape the composer view to match that shown (with L/L along edges)?
Why are my Longitude lines not showing in the same was as the latitude?

I am trying to map lat/lon locations in the Arctic/subarctic region using ggplot2, and colour them by type.
Here are the packages I'm using:
library(ggplot2)
library(rgdal)
library(ggmap)
library(sp)
library(dplyr)
library(ggspatial) #To use geom_sf to add shapefiles
Here is an example of my data:
dat <- data.frame(
"Lat" = c(70.5,74.5,58.5,60.5),
"Lon" = c(-21.5,19.0,-161.5,-147.5),
"Type"=c("A","B","A","B")
)
dat
I created a shapefile for the Arctic circle, found here: https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=f710b74427a14a1d804e90fbf94baed4
ArcticCircle <- sf::st_read("C:/.../LCC_AC.shp")
I am trying to map this in ggplot2, but I can't find a way to add a basemap with the Lambert Conformal Conic projection.
I know you can use coord_sf() to specify projection and boundaries, but I can't find a code for a conic projection.
p <- ggplot()+
geom_point(data = dat, aes(x = Lon, y = Lat, colour = Type))+
geom_sf(data = ArcticCircle, linetype = "dashed", aes())+
xlab("Longitude")+
ylab("Latitude")+
p
My map boundary would preferably be a circle around the Arctic circle at about 45 degrees latitude. If making a circle boundary isn't possible, a rectangle around that latitude it would work as well.
I am relatively new to R, so any help would be appreciated!
