A list of puns related to "Cleartext"
From what I understand, every query on dash platform is in cleartext, meaning everyone gets to see what data is stored. Developers can encrypt data before storing on dash platform but then I believe you can not easily query it.
The recent live stream examples uses people's names and their age, but I'm sure lots of people will not be happy with personal data being stored in the clear. Some explanation of use cases and workarounds would be appreciated.
Hi guys,
Is there a tool out there that can help me scan my network and find scripts with passwords and API keys?
Thanks!
Hello, if I check "remember password" in DejaDup encrypted backup, will the password be saved in cleartext in the filesystem?
just wondering what addon that most of you guys use with Titan skin? i use seren but the clearlogo(the title of the movie) [correct me if im wrong] does not show in the home section. Any help will be grateful
Is this true?
Ok, first disclaimer: it's not about my AppleID, (this email isn't even registered), but it does contain a password in cleartext that I often use for non-essential stuff (like for that very spam email account).
So my best guess is that it's just a spam / scam but I've literally never seen anything like it and was just wondering if you've ever seen sth. like that and what you think about it... should I be worried?

Is there a way I can make the text scroll smoother? It doesn't seem to be in 60fps or at least consistent 60fps, some times its smooth but most of the time not, could it just be because my screen or something else?

Whenever i use the Centered Alligment in the Cleartext skin i get a certain issue thats been persistant for the last week or so.
So the skin works perfectly 99% of the time, but when a longer song name comes up it gets offcentered and messed up, the actual name begins at half of the authors name, i am perfectly fine with the text getting cut off at the end and still being alligned but this just messes up everything

when playing spotify the progress stays at 00:00 and 0% can somebody help pls, thanks!
Just a heads up to those who aren't aware and don't use a seperate password manager for your login details, unless you actively select "use master password" in the privacy settings menu of Firefox (and I'm assuming all other browsers) all your saved passwords are 3 clicks away from being revealed to anyone who has access to your computer or phone, remotely or physically.
This may be obvious to most but it's really not something I had considered beforehand.
Mozilla should really persuade you to set a master password for logins when you first install the browser, I would imagine the majority of the public have all their details just sitting there in cleartext and don't know it.
Anyway it's worth checking just to be sure. Same goes for your mobile devices. Or even better use a legit third party password manager like KeypassX, Lastpass or Bitwarden.
Hope this helps someone!

So I've moved to an upgraded system with a 144hz monitor.. Cleartext pure looks very jagged on my system. Is there a way to reduce scroll speed or increase the smoothness of the scroll?
This Stenography problem came from a Computer/Networking challenge, where we had 6 hours to work as a System Administrator on various operating systems. This question came from a Debian Linux OS (I would think that it would be solvable using tools available preinstalled on Debian, but I don't really know for sure since we weren't able to solve it during the competition.
For a puzzle-solving challenge, we were told that 2 of the users on the computer were sending secret messages hidden in images. What is the message that was hidden and how did you get to your solution?
More relevant context may be provided regarding the message sent if it is found, as they usually have something to do with something else related to the competition.

The Tale of the Cleartext Externals
Some may know that I am now working a day (or Night-)job to earn my cookies. Some may have caught that I'm helping the owner of that place of work in IT. She's been paying some dude 60β¬/Month since sept 2016 to make a website. Thats about... yeah... three years. The website never existed, and according to the logs, never even has been worked on. So, being the IT Prodigy she reveres me for, I offer to step up and get it done (for a nice one time fee), since the competition is doing mad online stuff like inviting the youth to a BBQ and getting massive karma points.
The host for both domain and webspace is a local company. Hard red flag, as their own website 404s out on their products and descriptions, uses basic html with lots of .html files in <iframe> tags. It took me three weeks to get access data. But wait, there is more...
See, in the modern age, password protection of online related stuff is quite, let's say, important, with the GDPR and DSGVO and other multi-letter acronyms. So, first step is to take the user name, and request a password reset. The simplest thing for some company who charges about six hundred euros per year for "web hosting", right?
We keep waiting. Four hours later, the reset mail does not arrive, on neither of the adresses listed. Instead, now the password reset form 404s as well. By now its a saturday evening and they will most likely have gone home. I still have a full night shift ahead of me.
Come past Monday I call. Note: They do not know me. I simply stated that I work for my Boss and need access data. Without verification, they tell me the username(s). But not the password. This is bad. No backcheck with the boss, no security question, over the central phone line. Queue the Gnome waving a huge red flag in the background.
Frustrated I instruct $Boss, who isn't very tech savy, what to demand from them and what I need to get it running before making the website happen. By now I have created a complete portfolio of the companies services, values, and contact info on my own webspace, I'd just need to mirror it over.
Wait until past wednesday. I get two emails from $boss. My eyes start sweating profusely because they sent over the password. In clear text. No "Claim Password" link. No Security verification again. The only way this Password was
... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm on S10 plus, I know the FB app was updated today and then I stated getting these webpage not available errors, wondering if anyone else is and if there's a known fix.
