A list of puns related to "Classical Studies"
ΧαιΟΞ΅ΟΞ΅! I'm a classics undergrad who has a necessary number of science credits to fulfill, and I was just wondering what focuses in science might be useful to classics. If I have to take required courses, I'd like to at least try to relate them to my main studies.
Aside from suggestions for courses, I'd also love to hear about how other folks have combined their interest in science with classics.
Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
$1500 but Iβm willing to go a bit over.
Are you open to refurbs/used?
No, I would rather not.
How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
Performance would be the most important factor. But I would also be using the laptop during lectures so battery life is also pretty important. I honestly donβt know if build quality matters Iβm putting it last.
How important is weight and thinness to you?
I would be a college student bringing my laptop to classes, so I would need it to be portable and not too heavy or thick.
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.
I donβt want anything too small. 13-16 inches sounds pretty good, Iβm willing to go a bit smaller or bigger if it means a better laptop.
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
I am a beginner in photoshop/lightroom so I would like a laptop thatβs good with that. I play sims and minecraft sometimes and I am looking to get into GTA, Diablo and other games like that.
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
I would like to start gaming. Nothing too serious though so I donβt need anything advanced.
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
I would like a decent keyboard because Iβd be typing notes and doing homework. Touch-screen would be nice but itβs not a must. A decently good amount of memory is a must!
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
I currently have a 2018 Mac mini and I am constantly running out of space, I had to buy an external hard drive and I donβt want to do that again. I feel like a MacBook isnβt worth the money but it was nice to FaceTime and text from the computer and the desktop was rather fast when doing simple things like browsing. I would just like the laptop to be convenient and reliable.
He everyone! Sorry for another "how do I study" post, but I'd love any recommendations you guys can offer for study resources. Major weak areas I have are SPORTS trivia, plus I could use some work in classical arts (ballet, opera, symphonies/composers, theater).
Any recs? Thanks!
Hello, my coach is teaching me the classical sicilian, and I'm just wondering if anyone could point me towards any great practioners of this particular sicilian, or any classic games to study? I know Sam Shankland plays it, but my historical chess knowledge is limited. Thanks!
Hello everyone!
I'm considering doing my MA in Classical Studies and am narrowing down where that could get me. Is there any chance that I could get into archival work with that degree?
Thanks!
I'm applying to a music college for jazz and one of the requirements is -
Submit one transcription (including a PDF of the score) and one classical study.
Can anyone please help me out and tell me what a classical study and transcription must entail?
Those people are more likely than not experiencing sensory understimulation and as a result wouldn't be able to study without the sensory input (this includes myself sometimes).
I just wanted to bring this up as a sort of follow up from today's video because I don't want people to think things like "oh they can't be 'real' classical music fans because they listen to [insert composer] whilst studying"
there's also the fact that saying no-one could listen to intense classical music whilst studying is ableist for the reason outlined in the first sentence
Hiya I starting classical studies without 1/2 has anyone out there done it or is doing it this year Any advice or other people in the same position? :)
...Anyways, that's exactly what they did, so...
