A list of puns related to "Cicero"
What do you think of the Cicero quote, "the ides of march was a fine deed, but half done." Do you think Caesar should have been killed, and do you think the assassins should have gone after Augustus and Antony as well?
Iβve had many many play-throughs on Skyrim but this was the first time I read all volumes of his Journal when exploring his room.
His story is so interesting and you can see him slowly slipping into insanity in his writings. He was honored but upset that he was voted to become the Keeper, because it meant he would not have any more contracts. His last contract before becoming the keeper was.. a JESTER.
He killed the jester and the jester kept laughing till his last breath. After his sanctuary was cleaned out and it was just him and Mother, he started hearing the jesters laughs in his head. He considered it a gift from Mother, something to fill the silence he experienced.
By time, he became the laughter, he became the jester. The only problem was after becoming the laughter, he couldnβt hear the laughter anymore. There was silence once again.
Poor sweet Ciceroβ¦
I must know. My bet is that it's split down the middle, with about half of the players sparing him and the half killing him.
I really like Cicero. As a character, of course. If I met Cicero in real-life, I'd be making my way out of there as fast as I could.
First off, his aesthetic is fabulous and unhinged. My Dovahkiin walks into town in full dwarven armor wielding five different daedric artifacts, and then trailing behind me is a literal clown singing about killing cats and birds.
I love hearing the unbridled joy in the voice actor's performance. I love hearing his voice change through five different emotions in one sentence. And as I traverse the wilds of Skyrim, I hear him giggling behind me and know that I'm not alone in this cold and lonely place.
Not to mention that his introduction (in front of the Loreius farm) is one of my favorites in the game. Somehow the foreshadowing of Cicero's """"mother"""" and his red and black outfit is very subtle for such an obnoxious character.
Oh, and the entire quest, "The Cure for Madness?" *Chef's kiss* For real, that whole setup: >!Veezara wounded, Astrid's fury, Arnbjorn lying injured in the snow. This whole time, you've had to reconcile this psychotic clown with the trained assassin that he is, and now the game starts to show you just how dangerous he can be, attacking Astrid while she's surrounded by the whole Brotherhood, taking on a werewolf by himself and then somehow managing to stay one step ahead of said werewolf as he runs across the distance of the entire land of Skyrim to hide in his last safe place. Then you enter the Dawnstar Sanctuary, and the first thing you hear is Cicero's hoarse voice echoing through the empty halls, inhabited only by the ghosts of the former Brotherhood, and as you get closer, his voice grows more and more wild and desperate. And the blood stains on the floor showing his path through the sanctuary is a nice touch, too.!<
So, yes I spare him. Every story needs that one chaotic companion to counteract the seriousness of the plot (the fate of the world and all that), and Cicero fulfills that role.
The only thing I don't like is that he dislocates his shoulders every time he dances.
I just killed Cicero in the Dawnstar Sanctuary and learned that if you use the dead thrall spell on him after killing him heβll keep all the dialogue he would have had if he was kept alive. Itβs kinda creepy though cause I took his clothes before casting the spell and now itβs just a naked Cicero telling me he needs a sweet rollβ¦or a carrot
Why do people like him, he isn't charming, he isn't funny, he's just annoying
So I'm sitting here in front of a black door. It has a simple question for me. "What... Is the build... Of the Listener?" I've been playing some Oblivion lately, and I was reminded of how amazing the Dark Brotherhood is. I know Skyrim's isn't the same, but I'm saying it... I LOVE THE DARK BROTHERHOOD. I LOVE THE NIGHT MOTHER. I LOVE SITHIS. I LOVE EVERYONE IN THE CHEYDINHAL SANCTUARY (ESPECIALLY VICENTE VALTIERI, I SIMP FOR THAT MAN.)
Okay... Back to calmness. I got to thinking about making a Dark Brotherhood character, an Assassin/Listener type of character. This one is so immersed in the ways of the Void, that when they try to pray at any altar, the message reads "Repent your sins, wicked one!" Thing is... I need some help with it. it's going to be a stealth build, no doubt about it, but I also want to shake up the meta and toss in something different. So here is what I considered, hopefully someone can point me in a direction:
Race: I know this matters precious little in the long run, but I went and picked some options which I'd consider story wise. These are Altmer, Breton, Dunmer, Imperial, Khajiit and Bosmer. I don't really care about racial bonuses for stealth.
Build/Class: There's really only a few. Up close and intimate magi assassin or the ruthless hunter. Up close one is a dual dagger killer with expertise in alchemy to craft poisons and potions. Naturally, and exprtise in stealth ability comes as well. The magi assassin couldn't hold a blade to save their life, but they're experts in making things spontaneously combust. They also know how to hide themselves with magic. An intellectual killer in all respects. Finally, the ruthless one is a "no one will notice if there is no one TO notice". This one likes sowing terror and discord through brutal and swift displays of violence. Any of these would work.
Life state: Now, I know vampires are best for stealth and mages, but hear me out. Werewolves. A darker and less obvious secret. You think it's just a regular whoever, but underneath lies a killing machine which could be unleashed in the blink of an eye. In any case, vamps or werewolves work. Hell, even Lich does if there's good reason. I just want to have that secondary side to the character. As Blackbeard put it:"Give your quarry something to fear. Some... Hellish thing from a fevered dream, and men will drop to their knees, pleading for their Lord, before all else!"
Story: I'll keep it short here:
Hi everyone, I am looking for someone who's at Yale Law School tomorrow to show me around. I am an Italian Student interested in continuing my career at Yale, but tours are online only. I'd love to share my experiences with whoever wants to, and a coffee or drink after the tour is on me as a thank you!
Thanks for anybody who can help, even an "up" is much appreciated.
Hey, I am a total newbie to this subreddit and while I was in school my latin grades were... on the lower end of the spectrum. However I've picked up on it in recent times and try to learn what I can.
But I ran into a slight issue. Recently my cousin and I had a debate over me refusing to call Caesar [seezuh]. Instead I stubbernly kept calling him Caesar [kaesar]. My cousin pointed out, that by that logic Cicero should be pronunced [Kikero] and that caught me kinda of guard. According to my own logic, yes, it should be [Kikero] but that sounds ridiculous to me.
Any rules of pronunciation or fine details about latin, that I simply don't know about, which habe something to say about it?
Edit: I should ad, that I am from Germany and in german pronuncing it Kaesar, Markus, Kikero, Takitus etc. doesn't break with the acustics/ doesn't sound weird or forreign
Edit 2: Wow, thanks for the large amount of feedback. I honestly didn't expect this post to reach that many people. Due to time restrains I won't be able to answer to all of the comments, but I will read them regardless.
Makes me wonder what else I have missed!
Should be interesting when we see each other again
