There are many commercially available products that disinfect and deoxidize car interiors with chlorine dioxide gas.
I wish to make this at home as no local company provides it at an affordable level. I have a mold issue and want it totally removed.
The commercial products involve mixing a liquid and a solid and leaving it in the car for 8 hours.
My guess to the contents of this mixture is sodium chlorite and either citric acid or hydrogen peroxide? Apparently hydrogen peroxide is preferred as no chlorine is produced.
I have access to HCL so wiki also offers:
2 NaClO2 + 2 HCl + NaOCl → 2 ClO2 + 3 NaCl + H2O
5 NaClO2 + 4 HCl → 5 NaCl + 4 ClO2 + 2 H2O
Would it also be possible to use sodium chlorate, h2o2 and hcl ?

Any one use Bromine tabs instead of chlorine? Have read you can use them was just curious if anyone has had any luck.
Hey guys, I took a really long break from ONI , when i was playing back then the hand sanitizer would occasionally emit chlorine and mess up everything, now that I am back I was wondering if the hand sanitizer still does or should play it safe and place a liquid airlock. So, I'm by no means a chemist, but this question has been nagging at me.
So, theoretically, say there was a room full of chorine gas without any way to vent it - no windows, no air doors, etc. What would be the best way to neutralize the gas? Would it even be possible? How would you do it?

How do people on this sub feel about chlorine water? Like it is very hydrating, but my friends say that is is cursed water
(This isn't today but near enough). So my mother bought a pool for my sister which was decently sized enough to the point of needing some form of cleaning regularly. Since my sister was to lazy to do it my mom sent me off to find some chlorine tablets. I went into our pantry and found them behind a shelf and brought them to my kitchen table to extract. Upon opening the lid ( I have pretty bad asthma) I took a deep breath/yawn, inhaling and sending the chemical directly to my brain and into my nose. I instantly became light-headed and felt blood rushing down my nose, I inhaled quite a lot, so I was just about on the floor because of the sheer strength. As my mom yelled at me from outside to "hurry the hell up" I realized the volume of my piss-poor mistake. My eyes were redder than a stoner in a wet dream about bob Marley, so it's safe to say I was fucked. I quickly ran outside and threw them at my mom and ran back inside to try to regain my lost brain cells.
anyone else stim most effectively on yard work and cleaning? god its so satisfying.
