You've probably seen (and heard) for example the Arcade adds on YouTube that often feature vocal samples that rapidly change pitch. Also these are very common in pop and hip hop today.
Is there any method to create similar sound in Logic X, perhaps even a tutorial on YouTube?
I would guess that EXS24 and some effects could get some great results but just wanted to ask.
How do you logic users sample your vocals to get that EDM chop/sound? I'm decently new to producing (~6 months) and the way I do it is I'll find a sample I want to use, whether it be from YouTube or elsewhere, drag the MP3 onto it's own track then cut it down to just the part I want to use. I feel like there is definitely a better way to go about doing this, and the chops end up sounding too...choppy? More like a skipping record than a nice flow if that makes sense. I was just wondering how other users went about doing this.
My friend uses fl and I liked how you could just slap grossbeat on an audio or midi track and chop/repeat/warp/reverse it all in the same plugin. I love the new step fx plugins that logic more recently added but it seems like those are only for modulation and distortion type effects. Looking for time based effects.
Hi, I need suggestions on the best methods to vocal chops in Ableton and Logic.
In Ableton I used warp markers in complex pro - pulled down all the formants and then sliced to new MIDI track.
In Logic I only used the ESX4 which .. sucks! Or my method sucks.
Please advice :) Oh and what effects do you use on it? Any cool effect tricks?
Okay so any help would be much appreciated- I recently found a great sample so i put it on an audio track in logic (Pro X) and set the transient markers, then converted to a new sampler file, and got to work. I found what I needed, then I left the original (now muted) audio, and the (now muted) transient translation. Then I saved, and exited the project, then Logic told me that it couldn't find the file. So I open it again, and the MIDI file that was my chop is now just a bunch of keyboard notes. SO I redid the translation and the chop, and exited again, and it keeps saying the same thing! Any one know whats up?
I'm trying to sample this song, especially the repeated female choir at 2:34, but I just can't fit the measure(s) perfectly on the grid. I'm trying to loop the measure from 2:34 to 2:38 but again, I'm trying really hard, I tried changing the bpm (which for some reason I can't find on the web, so I tapped manually), tried changing to time signature to 6/8, but it looks like the measures goes
la la la la la la (6/8), dan! dan! (2/4?) and repeats....
here's the link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKEnaURxbjg&index=12&list=RD0j2JRcC6wBs (2:34 to 2:38)
I'm kind of lost now, can anyone help me with this issue? (and if you do know the actual bpm and time signature then please do tell me!)
P.S: Also when I exported this audio, I set it as a mono track, do I need to put it on stereo and then export it?
as of right now I chop the parts that I want and put them in Ex24 and then speed or slow them down, but if I need to go back and add a chop its hard to do that when I'm hearing two different speeds and keys. I've considered using the plugin to change the pitch first but that doesn't affect the speed and also causes a lot of distortion which I don't want. Any help is greatly appreciated
