A list of puns related to "Chitlin Circuit"
I'm an unpublished, unproduced (unless you count audio dramas for my podcast) playwright, and I'm presently working on a play I'm really excited about. Like the first full-length play I wrote several years ago, while I aim to submit it to theatres once I've got a satisfactory draft (if such a beast exists), I also intend to take a solid crack at producing it myself. I'm actually wondering why more playwrights, in fact, don't take an approach to getting their work out there more like the urban theatre or "chitlin" circuit--particularly Tyler Perry's approach?
By this, I mean producing the play themselves, and then, if successful enough, touring it--even if it's a modest tour in nearby cities--and selling copies of taped productions? Urban theatre does this all the time; it's basically their business model, as far as I can tell. And regardless how one feels about the quality of those kinds of productions in general, or Mr. Perry's work in particular (trust me, as a Black playwright, I'm probably quite sympathetic to whatever misgivings anyone here might have about Tyler Perry's ouevre), one must admit that it's worked well for the chitlin' circuit, and has been extremely lucrative for Perry.
Now, I understand that, 1) producing a play is no mean feat. It can be quite tasking and expensive, especially if one doesn't have any production experience. I know this because I tried to produce my aforementioned first full-length play years ago, and while I cherish the experiences, the friendships gained from it, and the invaluable lessons I learned with zero regret, it proved somewhat of an expensive and embarrassing disaster in the end, largely because I didn't know what I was doing and I wasn't careful with who I trusted (that its own saga I might elaborate on here some other time)... But I'd do it all over again--and, in fact, have every intention of doing so!--because one of the things I learned from the experience is that it is, in fact, quite doable if you pool your resources, stay shrewd in your dealings, and ensure as much as any artist can that you've crafted a good work. 2) I also understand that everyone can't be Tyler Perry, and can't expect to become a renowned underground millionaire by touring community theatres--which in itself would prove its own unique and formidable challenge, even if an initial production were successful.
But nonetheless, I don't see why, if a playwright is confident in her work, and is willing to put in the elbow grease and in

Google synopsis:
James Brown (Chadwick Boseman) was born in extreme poverty in 1933 South Carolina and survived abandonment, abuse and jail to become one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. He joined a gospel group as a teenager, but the jazz and blues along the "chitlin' circuit" became his springboard to fame. Although his backup musicians came and went, Brown retained the ability to mesmerize audiences with his music, signature moves and sexual energy.
My thoughts:
It took me a bit to get into this one, but when I did, it was a good ride.
Chadwick Boseman is stellar here. He embodies James Brown so well with his vocal and physical talent, that you forget he's playing a character. He becomes James Brown. Seriously, this dude was such a talent and I am saddened that I am just now getting into his deeper catalog, after his passing.
This being said, the film is not perfect. It jumps around a ton, both in terms of time and theme. It quickly cuts between childhood, early career, super-stardom, his later years, and it can be a bit jarring. Thematically they attempt to tie it together, creating through lines (e.g. He does this because that happened earlier in his life.) But it feels a little forced. Instead of diving into the psychology of the individual, it's presented as a linear narrative of cause and effect. While this is ok, and definitely serves to flesh out Brown's character, I believe it could've been handled differently, and in a way that showed greater impact. (They may have a taken a few liberties with drawing out conclusions... that's all I'm saying.)
Brown is also portrayed in a softer light than perhaps he was known for. He was notorious for abusing bandmates, girlfriends, and stranding people on the road. I mean, I've heard stories about him firing people on stage, mid-set! While the movie doesn't erase these parts of his story, I believe it was softened to make his character more likeable and to attempt to tell the legend of James Brown without wading into morally murky waters. In the end the story feels incomplete. I mean can you really have a complete story about James Brown without diving in here? Not to say they completely ignore it, but it's feeling a

If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.
Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???
Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.
Thank you,

Well, toucan play at that game.

second hand stores!
The older Delbert Recipe thread is archived and some of the locations a have moved with recent updates. Traditional Chitlins is still bugged (will Bethesda ever fix this?). I sell these like crazy because even seasoned players tend to not see them and pick them up.
Two of the recipes in Flatwoods are no longer there (one was a duplicate anyway). There used to be another duplicate at Ohio River Adventures but that one's gone now too.
Most locations are the same but I noted below where the locations have changed with recent updates:
Delicious Deer Skins - Wavy Willard's, on a shelf in the back left inside the locked stall to the left as you enter the park.
Mud Cookie - Aaronholt Farmstead, on kitchen countertop.
Corn Pone - Tyler County Fairgrounds, on a shelf in the Funnel Cake kiosk.
Appalachilli - Flatwoods, on shelf at Responders house just across from the cooking area.
Tato Salad Surprise - Silva Farmstead, on kitchen countertop.
Sunshine Oil - (new location) Welch in third house on Elkhorn street on kitchen countertop next to sink.
*Traditional Chitlins - Spruce Knob Campground on picnic table (bugged and can't be picked up. I've tried every suggestion on Reddit and call BS on all of them).
Mountain Hocks - Beckwith Farm, on brick by campfire near flagpole at top of the hill.
Company Tea - Superior Sunset Farm in basement on pegboard. If your the first to visit this in a while there is also usually a random plan on the shelves at the back of the basement.
Granny's Sweet Tea - Mac's Farm on side table just inside the front door. Magazine spawn point on the left side of that room too.
Bunless Cramburger - General's Steakhouse, on the countertop in the basement kitchen. turn right on entering the kitchen, countertop on right. Sometime also a plan on the countertop next to the sink. The General's is a pretty rich place on average as I regularly pick up bobble-heads and magazines there almost every session.
Pothole Potpie - (new location name and new location) The Retreat straight ahead from spawn point up stairs to top floor. On left just through door next to computer.
Sweet Labrador Tea - Raleigh Clay's Bunker on kitchen table.
If you start at Wavy Willard's, and with Travel Agent perk, you can fast travel the entire circuit for about 103 caps (skipping Spruce Knob).
