Attuned Puns

Hey friends! Thanks for the kind reaction to that demo I posted this weekend, first of all. Thought I would try to share more frequently with the community, starting with the following discussion.

I just recently came across a songwriting tip on a Facebook group I follow, a tip I've actually been thinking about for a long time. But it's difficult to express. It's really simple. So simple, in fact, that it comes across almost as a little sarcastic/disingenuous, but here goes:

Hum to yourself more.

This is especially helpful if you have a hard time coming up with melodies. If you occupy a more melodic headspace in your day-to-day, and just generally try to make your routines more sing-songy, I seriously do believe some of that magic juju seeps in to your subconscious somehow. Your inner-ear is just more attuned (pun intended) to accessing or improvising melody, if that makes sense.

It's the exact same tip that writers/lyricists give ("read more"), but adjusted for melodists.

You ever put on a Folding Laundry/Cooking Food/etc playlist when you're doing household stuff? Sing along. You sing in the shower? Make up a brand-new shower song, add stuff to your repertoire! And so on.

Usually nothing comes of this (I have a ritualistic Popcorn-Popping song I sing when I queue up a movie, or I improv something when I'm brewing coffee in my morning haze, things that I really just do for my own amusement). But occasionally you stumble on something worthwhile. In fact, I started a couple of my favorite songs that I have written just by singing in the shower. Instead of belting a karaoke favorite, as per tradition, I just started gibberish-ing what I imagined a karaoke favorite to sound like.

Does anything that I'm saying make any sense? haha. I had a friend of mine once tell me, in an especially uninhibited, drunken state, that I have an easy time "just pulling ideas out [my] ass and it always works." That's just because I'm used to doing that though! Thoughts? Any other tips in this same vein? Discuss.

How do you play that scenario out? For example, a PC has a weapon they are unwilling to part with but are arrested and have their weapons taken. How should this be played out? Would you tell them they have to do everything in their power to get back to it?

I’ve been watching videos on FA attachment from Thais Gibson. She talks about the FA tendency to be hyper attuned to non-verbal communication, and reading into things to the point of picking up on meanings that aren’t even there.

I don’t know what I’m asking for other than solidarity, because I feel like this is ruining my life right now. Not so much an issue in friendship but this tendency is out of control for me in romantic attachments.

Any tips or words of encouragement?

I recently got attuned to master level reiki and I want to know if these are symptoms of that attunement. I had strong allergy type symptoms roughly 10 minutes after the attunement that are still going on, I feel heat coming from my palms whenever I use certain symbols (chokurei), and I feel energetic tingles/full body warmth everytime I sit and try to feel reiki energy. Is this normal or am I just making this up in my head?

Just tested on an alt that wasn't attuned. Got inside Kara. Don't need to buy flying mount on alt anymore woohoo (cause you would have needed to do Arcatraz). Also, pretty much everything is nerfed in the raid lollolol.

Easy game easy life.

Title, playing FTB University and using the Attuned Diamond whenever I can to store mana and increase my cap (I'm very early into it). However, when hovered over, the diamond still says it has 0 mana. I'm playing on a server with friends, hosted by one of them. Is this a known bug and can I do anything about it?

Like the title says, im at y-200, i have 4 lenses all 16 blocks away from the altar and Im just not getting enough starlight. what else can i do?

Seeing people running back and forth for no reason. This will speed up your Yak Track tasks a bit with this trick :)

I have mine on a utility bar that is keybound to 8 so just press 8 twice to return to the chest. Happy Yak Tracking (not yacking).

I feel incredibly creeped out and angered by my nosy neighbors. I rent the basement unit from them and I don’t have access to the upper floor. I don’t know why but it seems like every time I let my guard down, and watch TV at a very low volume on my computer, my neighbors start to suddenly make a ton of noise out of nowhere. I don’t think it’s overtly aggressive but it just seems like at times like that they decide to clean their whole house and move furniture around. And when I stopped my show because I noticed all the racket out of nowhere, the noise also stopped upstairs. So now I’m being dead silent and just processing this, and now it’s also quiet upstairs. It’s been like this nonstop for like 4 months with these people. I work from home and most of the time it’s quiet but anytime I do anything, switch tasks, it suddenly provokes or inspires this weird couple (weird married couple with fully grown kids) to start making a racket…

I don’t know what exactly they’re doing but it’s like if I’m doing something for my enjoyment like watching TV or cooking for myself they suddenly start to run around and open and close a bunch of drawers in a frenzy. And when I notice what is happening and stop to listen, it stops. I don’t know why they are doing this to me and I have tried singing out loud “mind your own business” but that just makes them stop for a second and then start again.

I feel like they’re listening to everything I’m doing to inform what they should be doing. It’s driving me insane.

After 10-20 hours of attempting radiant absrad and dying during Phase 4 over and over again (with roughly 5-10 attempts making it to Phase 6 only to miss a pogo, fail to lure an orb off screen, or fall into the void), I decided to switch to attuned difficulty to get some more practice on the final phase.

The first attempt after switching difficulty, I beat her hitless.

Switched back to radiant and have not made it anywhere close since. Fml.

So today I've finally got 10 wins in a row against the Pure Vessel. Finally feeling confident after at least 80 attempts of Pure Vessel (Attuned) on Hall of Gods, I went into the 4th Pantheon and won on a full 9 HP. I decided that I should post my, err, guide, on playing against this boss to the subreddit and ask for advice or strategy or techniques and receive helpful feedback.

Disclaimer: I haven't attempted Ascended or Radiant PV yet but I might get to it in the future.

Note: this strategy "guide" is meant only for nail-based combat reliant, which means that if your playstyle is leaning more to the spells' side then this "guide" is not for you.

Charmset: Unbreakable Strength, Mark of Pride, Quick Slash, Sharp Shadow.

So with the context out of the way, I'd like to present my general strategy for beating (at least, Attuned) Pure Vessel on the Hall of Gods. We'll start with the attacks:

1. Lunge. By far the easiest attack to deal with. If Pure Vessel starts the attack on-screen but with a bit of distance between, then you can (easily) react by jumping up and pogoing for 1 nail hit's worth of damage, plus another nail hit while PV recovers after attacking. Easily punishable if you can see it coming. On the flip side, if PV starts the attack a bit too close to you then I'd recommend Shade Cloaking through. Fortunately, the Sharp Shadow charm allows for a bit of leeway lest you time the dash wrong, as well as dealing chip damage to it.
2. Triple Slash. It actually took me a while at first - I'd thought this was the most dangerous attack of PV's moveset. As it turns, if you can save your Shade Cloak then you can simply dash through PV if it starts the attack a bit too close to you. Alternatively, if it's a bit further away to give you enough time to react, then you can just jump up (and maybe even pogo / parry for extra damage!). Do be wary that if you Shade Cloak through PV then do it on the ground, not the air, since the hitbox for the slash hits a far bit behind and can very well hit you after a Shade Cloak. I personally Shade Cloak through the attack, then dash backwards to approach PV to get an extra nail hit in.
3. Soul Pillars. I've seen good players be able to just walk out of the slam on this attack but I'll always just stick to dashing either way away from the slam, then dodge the pillars that come out of the gr

Literally as the title says the shields are so useless they don't even sell or buy more often then not and the price they are listed for is completely wrong and has been since they came out

The alc price is extremely low ( 128k the same as a plus 4 bane shield/ plus 4 offhand longsword) the damage reflection for the shield is absolutely useless (caps at 49 from what I seen) and the attuned offhand longsword doesn't even work it only gains 25% bonus damage when using auto attacks

I get shields aren't meta but a shield that is level 80 shouldn't be absolutely useless and the offhand longswords effect is literally broken and doesn't work (you do the exact same damage against a dragon using a dragonbane offhand longsword that you do using a plus 4 offhand bane longsword)

The special trait of bane was "you can attune it to be better at fighting specific monsters similar to the bane ammunition" but that isn't the case at all

Atleast change the alc price to reflect the cost put into making these items a dragon Visage for example low alcs for 300k more then double that of a dragonbane shield

If I disassemble an attuned crystal halberd, can I reclaim a seed from Lady Ithell?

I recall that being an option, but I wanted to make sure since I have no intention of hunting for another through thieving.

As many of you know, with a Crystal Teleport Seed you can charge your own with dust, or pay an NPC to charge it for you, but those charges get consumed as you use your seed.

A few years after Prif came out, a ninja update added the Attuned Teleport Seed, which cost 4,000 harmonic dust, but never degraded with use.

Currently Crystal Tool Seeds work on a similar charge based system as Teleport Seeds, where you can recharge them with either dust or by paying and NPC.

I think it would be pretty neat to allow us to make an unlimited set of crystal tools as reward space for future skilling content; maybe an Attuned Seed rare drop, or a Codex to teach us how to make them.

Also, consideration on whether they should be toolbeltable in their non-degradable form could be discussed. What do you guys think?
