Among the foods laid out was an apple and oatmeal breakfast cup, some of which upon close inspection appeared to have spoiled and contain mould. Immediately upon realizing this, I stopped eating and alerted an employee. The employee took away cups that had visible mould growth, and left the others out. I remained in the Sky Club for approximately 30 minutes thereafter, and during that time I observed other guests pick up some of the remaining cups for consumption. By the time I left the Sky Club, no further cups had been removed and I witnessed the employee I had alerted picking up used dishes from tables, but ignoring the contaminated food that was being served to customers.

After returning home, I filed a complaint on Delta.com. On Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, wecare@delta.com responded that they would pass my comments along, and credited me with some skymiles. No confirmation that they would investigate this lounge's food stores or in any way actually take action to prevent this from happening again. There are 128,000 cases of hospitalization in the US from food poisoning each year, and what is most ironic is that wecare@delta.com didn't even seem to care enough to ask how I was doing after having been served their spoiled food.

UPDATE

I responded to Delta by email, expressing my dissatisfaction with their response and telling them I intended to go to social media. At the suggestion of comments to my original reddit thread, I posted on twitter and tagged Delta. Today I recieved a call from someone in customer service. She told me she was going to do three things:

1. Alert the person in charge of the Sky Clubs in Atlanta to the problem, and he would go through and check the current food, talk to the staff about their response, and find out why food was left around so long that it could grow mould in the first place. I also informed her about u/pinkearmuffs having mouldy raspberries in SFO, and she said she would do the same thing there.

2. Escalate the complaint "to the highest level" to the people in charge of Sky Clubs, since this was happening at multiple locations. This way if there is a systemic problem they don't have to wait until someone gets served mould and complains to fix it - they will hopefully put measures in place

Hi! I'm interested in getting my Nigerian passport as I plan to visit Nigeria more frequently moving forward. I was born and raised here in the US, but my parents are both Nigerian citizens. This is my special platinum mileage run day. My 2pm flight was canceled and I’m rebooked on a 10pm flight. Going to have a drink at every sky club from T -> F. I’ll check in with my thoughts. (I have previously only been to the B club.) Wish me luck!

Edit2: good news and bad news! Good news, I got bumped up to first on my 10 pm flight. Bad news, it’s now an 11pm flight because they don’t know where one of the pilots is. “We have an ETA on one of the pilots, but we don’t know when the other one is coming. They’re not at the airport, they’re at home or wherever… they have a 2 hour grace period from when they get notified”

This is like the only Atlanta subreddit, so I’m just asking for you to comment if you know of amazing restaurants out here ( I like sushi, seafood, and pasta), brunch spots, hiking trails, or activities that are fun & available to someone under 21. So obviously clubs and bars wouldn’t be helpful. But I’ve been here a year and haven’t had luck finding these spots on my own other than basic stuff like movies or bowling. Just drop a comment if you know places in Atlanta or surrounding cities. Thank you!
