A list of puns related to "Arts District"
Finger style blues guitarist, new to Tulsa and hoping to play out a bit. Wondering if there are any recommended Open Mics? Also wondering, do musicians play out on the streets at all in Tulsa? Like on first Fridays?
Thanks for any feedback!
Bonus - Iβve got my pregnant sister flying down for a few days to celebrate - any good jazz spots outside the quarter for a more laid back evening to bring her tor
I'm thinking about buying a house in the area but can't find any current opinions or updates about it on here.
I originally wanted to stick to the west side but I'm priced out of the neighborhoods by the lake and what's left on the outskirts is shoddy rehabs and old over priced homes that are falling apart.
I considered Old Brooklyn but it just didn't feel right for me. Very family focused and I'd prefer something a little more trendy or with the potential to be trendy.
On paper it seems like a great investment. Right by Euclid beach park similar to how Detroit shoreway/Gordon Square connects to edgewater. The houses available also seem to be in much better shape than west side houses and better value. But driving around in person it did feel a little depressed.
I guess my question is does this neighborhood have a future as bright as the other lakeside neighborhoods and is there really a benefit to being on the west side versus east side longterm. Also it's the weather really worse there or do you have to be further east for that?
Hi everyone,
I am in Mexico city for a week and hoping to check out some art galleries or artist studios. Is there an area that has a large number of galleries or a specific district I should visit?
Thank you!
Heard Mexican food is better in socal so would be great to hear recommendations for something around arts district or downtown? I don't have a car but willing to take a 30 ish minute bus.
Thanks in advance!
I've got a good bit of inspiration for Doskovol visually, but it would be really nice to have art that differentiates the different parts of the city. I worry I describe them a little to same-y. Cobblestones, dark, near a canal, lamplight, etc.
Hi friends. My roommate is moving out of state in mid-December, so I'm looking for someone to take over her room in our two-bedroom two-bathroom apartment in North Hollywood from January onward. This would be a new lease, as she was the original lessee.
Rent is $1900 for the whole unit. I pay $1000 for the master, my roommate pays $900 for her room. Utilities (internet, gas, power) is about $50-$100/month in total. We have two tandem parking spaces in the building's underground gated garage.
The place is pretty standard for a unit this size--small living room, dining area, kitchen, balcony, bathroom, and two rooms, with the master bathroom. The building complex is 80s courtyard style, on the smaller end, pretty quiet, and rent controlled. Laundry room on site, and pet friendly.
We're between Tujunga, Lankershim, and Magnolia, across from the NoHo Rec Center park, and about 5-10 minutes walking distance to the NoHo Metro Station and all the wholesome and debaucherous merriment to be found around Lankershim and Magnolia.
I'm 34m, a lawyer, and I work mostly from home. I'm generally pretty quiet and a homebody. My politics are generally very lefty, I eat mostly vegan, and I'm fully vaccinated. But wait, there's more.... Here's a list of some of the shit I like to give you an idea what you'd be getting into with this hypothetical roommate scenario: basketball, the Lakers, cats, some Wes Anderson movies, Paul Thomas Anderson movies, I <3 Huckabees, Bored to Death, Lost in Translation, some French new wave stuff, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, true crime podcasts and documentaries, Islay Scotch (though I'm trying a sober thing), Rick and Morty, David Foster Wallace, Lydia Davis, Raymond Carver, Mary Oliver, Hemingway, Frank O'Hara, Walt Whitman, Thomas Pynchon, Allen Ginsberg. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Eugene Debs, Mikhail Bakunin, Peter Kropotkin, Bernie Sanders, Albert Camus, Buddhist philosophy and esoteric meditation practices, sleep, breakfast burritos, being lazy, and not working.
My roommate got a covid cat who will be leaving with her, so I'm also looking to get a cat in here in the next couple of months.
Edit: If it works out, the building management will need a standard application form filled out and they'll run your credit.
Edit: Most of the furniture and "decorations" in the pictures of the common areas will be gone. I'm likely only keeping the couches.
