A list of puns related to "Almanack"
What are your thoughts?
Considering starting it soon and wanna hear y'all's reviews :)
Bertrum's Almanack was a series of live-action comedy shorts, apparently somehow an ad campaign for the Sony PSP, from 2007. The link (here) is to an article describing it. It featured someone in a crazy mole man costume playing foul-mouthed, cantankerous Bertrum, and it was hilarious. One video I remember has him writing a letter to the editor to complain about bathroom wall art in a hardware store, which he noticed while he was taking a dump.
I've unsuccessfully searched for this for over a decade. I actually even tried to contact Adult Swim, and they did not respond. The web pages for it are on the wayback machine, but none of the videos were saved.
And yes, I want to find this bad enough that I finally graduated from lurker with my first post!

(Sorry for the inconvenience as this is not a news on Berkshire but as it is Berkshire related, and Iโm pretty sure you guys are passionate as I am with Warren, Charlie and Berkshire, Iโm posting my question here) Iโm living in Europe, and Iโm searching a website on which I can buy Poor Charlieโs Almanack (third edition brand new)... Iโve seen reseller on Ebay and Amazon but the prices are crazy and nothing is official. Is it still possible to buy the book from the official reseller ? Thank you. Wishing you all great holidays.
There is a repeatable way to generate wealth and ANYONE can do it
Personal health / fitness is 's #1 priority
Happiness is a skill that can be learned
1. Naval states that the #1 rule to building wealth is to own equity in a company.
When was the last time you heard of anyone building wealth by working for someone else?ย Ok, maybe Google & FBย engineers could argue this, but as a general rule of thumb, it's fairly widespread that you need to own a business OR at least, buy equity in a business to generate long term wealth.
2. The wealthiest people use leverage to scale equity in companies.
What does "leverage"ย mean exactly?
Some quick forms of leverage are code, capital, people, & media. Code is the obvious one. If you're a software engineer & write code that can solve one problem and be applied to different industries - you've got a scaleable gold mine. But some other ways are using capital, your network, & media.
"If you can't code, write books and blogs, record videos and podcasts."- @naval
I expand on Naval's concept of "leverage" in the full post
Physical health is @naval's #1 priority. He states that this is more important than mental health, relationships, work, & family on his priorities list. He claims that if he first takes care of his body, then every other area of his life will prosper because of his prioritization.
Naval does some form of exercise every morning before starting his work day. He's identified physical health is the most important thing that he can do to be the best version of himself in all other areas of his life. I wasn't able to decipher Naval's exact morning routine per se, but from what I gathered Naval starts his morning workout after a 60 minute morning meditation sit and then completes his workout before starting his work for the day.
"I do not start my day until I've worked out. I don't care if the world is imploding and melting down, it can wait another 30 minutes until I'm done working out."- @naval
Naval argues that happiness is a skill that can be learned. He states that happiness is what's there when you remove the sense that something is missing in your life.
He explains th

Long time, I haven't posted a summary. It's just that my last reads were not so great. But, I've recently discovered Naval Ravikant. He is an Indian-American entrepreneur and investor. And I have enjoyed his philosophy.
I've first listened to his podcast, "How to Get Rich.ยป It's a giant format of three hours regrouping many of his previous episodes.
I've started with a mindset of let's try and see. Three hours looks too long for me.
But I could not stop.
I was caught by the content, the numbers of ideas, the deep reflection, and Naval's direct style.
So I bought his book. Not really his book, but the book that has been created on his ideas. A type of summary of what he has shared on Twitter and his podcast.
The Almanack of Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness
The book is divided into three parts.
>"So, my definition of wealth is much more businesses and assets that can earn while you sleep."
>"Specific knowledge cannot be taught, but it can be learned."
>
>"When I talk about specific knowledge, I mean figure out what you were doing as a kid or teenager almost effortlessly."
Listening and trying to convince on my ideas is something I do since I'm young. My parents struggled to say no to some of my requests as I constructed and built very coherent arguments. So I feel that persuasion and communication are things I love to do since I'm young.
>Arm yourself with specific knowledge, accountability, and leverage.
>
>Specific knowledge is knowledge you cannot be trained for. If society can train you, it can train someone else and replace you. โ Specific knowledge is found by pursuing your genuine curiosity and passion rather than whatever is hot right now.
The specific knowledge of Naval :
>*I have some sales skills, which is a form of specific knowledge. I have some analytical skills on how to make money. And I h

Naval's wisdom is liked by a number of people. There's now a book that collects his wisdom from his tweets, podcasts, and essays. Its e-book is available for free.
He is the vice-chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, the conglomerate controlled by Warren Buffett, who has described him as his investing partner.
In his book, โPoor Charlieโs Almanackโ he shares his experience and wisdom for stock market investors:
When amateurs play tennis, they win because of shooting the fewest shots in the net & missing the least, rather than fast or skilled shots. Charlie always believes in trying not to be stupid consistently, staying within oneโs circle of competence & having an informational edge.
The best way to invest using this approach is to choose what stocks to avoid.
Charlie & Warren did not invest in technology companies. Thus, they did miss out on a lot of opportunities, but they sailed through economic recessions & made lesser mistakes during the dot com era.
Charlie is known for coining the term โLollapalooza Effectโ which symbolizes extraordinary outcomes. A Lollapalooza effect happens when the outcome is bigger than the sum of its counterparts.
One positive effect enhances the power of the next one.
Coca-Cola, as it had a great product, powerful stimulants, clever marketing, availability & social proofing was able to achieve a lollapalooza.
Charlie believes that not learning from other peopleโs mistakes & focusing totally on learning from your own is a recipe for great misery.
Investing & analyzing a companyโs future prospects is a form of problem-solving, that requires multi-disciplinary approach companies are often like complicated organisms, with aspects that will affect the companyโs future cash flow.
To be a successful investor, you will require many tools that are readily available.
Just as multiple factors shape almost every system, multiple models from a variety of disciplines, applied with fluency are needed to understand that system.
Charlie says that no wise pilot, no matter his talent & experience, fails to use his checklist.
Here are the elements of his checklist:
Use a margin of safety, and more risk = additional compensation. Avoid big mistakes.
Think for yourself. The correctness of your analysis does not depend on peopleโs opinions & vice-ver
