Hello fellow Canadians! I’ve recently learned that Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, has a co pay program to subsidize the cost not paid by insurance. I’m wondering if anyone has been able to access the program and if so, what was the process?
Here in BC we have to pay out of pocket for the injection fee (very silly..) for Botox for migraine prophylaxis so that plus the 20% that my insurance doesn’t cover adds up to about $300 a pop (Approx $100 of which is just for the Botox). Thank you!!

I'm in Canada (Ontario specifically) and I suffer from what my neuro believes is Occipital Neuralgia. It might be migraines sometimes, but because I only have minor sound/light sensitivity, I don't think she's looking at that right now. This is important because I am on ODSP (disability) and they only cover Botox if you have migraines, and she said that she would have to make a case for me having migraines to ODSP to get it covered. I don't think she's confident in her ability to do that.
Nerve blocks didn't work, medications aren't working. So we've come to Botox. As I am on ODSP, I don't have a lot of money to pay however much it would be to get Botox every 3 months. My neuro has started the application to Allergan for their patient assistance program. Her secretary told me that Allergan will call me at some point to ask questions including questions about my income.
I'm wondering if people knew the income cut off for patient assistance for Allergan. I worked full time last summer (2020) as part of a school program, but I haven't been able to work all that much since, though I get a small amount of income from a very very *very* part-time gig (think 0-9 hours a week sometimes). Do they need any proof of income? I am afraid that if they ask for my income amounts from last year, they'll see that I was able to make more money than I have been able to do in any other year in a long time, and that wouldn't be representative of what I make usually.

Possible settlement to watch and ITC decision review period. Allergan uses enforcement mechanisms like the ITC to keep competitors off the market. $EOLS solid play as a direct competitor to Botox. Allergan sees them as a existential threat and worth watching. Large short interest in $EOLS
I realize this is nearly a year old, but looks useful for evaluating ABBV (which I'm doing)
I'm super happy with how my implants look but I just started looking into this. Currently the FDA does not recommend prophylactic removal/replacement but a2020 study estimates the risk of BIA-ALCL to be 1/355 compared to the initial estimate of 1/3000-1/30000 which that is way too high for my comfort level. Allergan will cover the cost of a new smooth implant until July 2021 (warranty PDF).
Anyone else embarking on this journey or already had it done? Are you opting for capsulectomy or only implant exchange?
Some context and maybe a rant lol: the last three weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster healthwise.
In 2013 I had breast augmentation done, a lift on the L breast and an implant on the R. I was really young when I had it done, and it was covered by my Ontario Health Insurance Plan since the psychological factors of living with extreme asymmetrical boobs was having on my mental wellbeing (thank god). But i was so young, I was not cognizant of many factors, or what material was being used, all I thought was OMG TWO BOOBS YESSSS.
I just found out YESTERDAY that the implant was not saline as I had believed but it was Allergan 410MX which was recalled last year for being linked to certain cancers forming in the lymph nodes.
Canada has had far fewer instances (26 cases total, zero deaths) but holy shit what the actual fuck? No one every notified. No letter to my last Ontario address (parents house) and nothing forwarded to me, in Alberta where I now live.
I've been in so much pain for a couple weeks now, and the ultrasound last week revealed a fibroid in my left breast and a possible rupture of the implant on the right. A rupture of what I now know is a dangerous material in my body. I'm so livid.
I really need to hear other people's experiences if anyone has anything helpful to share. I'm so afraid I won't be able to expedite surgery. I'm seeing the doctor later this morning but I just feel scared. I don't know what the process is at all, at least I know what to expect of surgery and recovery and won't be afraid of my Frankentits™ this time.
This has been so traumatizing I'm not even sure if it's worth having two boobs after all.
