A list of puns related to "Albus Dumbledore"
The beings coming to kill you aren't aware of your protectors and they can be taken off guard by Dumbledore and Thor. Oh, also, if the characters you've made fight before include your two protectors, they will still fight each other as different versions of themselves.
Also, you can explain to your protectors who is expected to come after you so that they can accordingly prepare. If they understand they can not expect to win a pitched battle, they can choose to flee open confrontation instead.
Who's coming after you? Are the might of Albus Dumbledore and Thor enough to protect you?
Featuring a man's best friend: a dog Wingman Voldemort, who has somehow discovered that Harry is his Horcrux and has therefore decided that he would help Harry achieve his true Alpha Male potential instead of offing him.
Dumbledore is arguably the character who suffers most from the books shifting to the YA tone. Even so, he isn't evil; he doesn't want Harry's money, doesn't take seek joy in Harry's abuse etc.
That being said, you can't deny that Dumbledore is kind of an ass. He left Harry with the Dursleys, where he was emotionally AND physically abused. Yes, Harry had to stay there for the blood protection, but not checking up on him regularly? Come on! You could have ended up with a mentally-disturbed child, or worse, a future dark lord! And in HBP, it's revealed that Dumbledore knew about the abuse and did NOTHING to stop it!
Look, Dumbledore isn't perfect; nor should he be! Nobody is perfect, which is a good thing. But why does it seem as though some people can't admit that Dumbledore is kind of an ass?
"He is a good man who tried his best!"
Clearly not. And don't get me started on how Dumbledore manages Hogwarts.
Dumbledore perfected the Philosopher's Stone, in collaboration with alchemist Nicolas Flamel.
The Stone makes it possible to brew the Elixir of Life, which allows Mr and Mrs Flamel to live for 660 years.
But, relative to most everyone else, Dumbledore is seriously old.
Those few wizards who are alive at his age (or near enough) are friends and relations: Gellert Grindelwald, Elphias Doge and Aberforth Dumbledore. His crush, his "Ron" and his brother (plus Gellert's great-aunt Bathilda Bagshot) all sipped the Elixir of Life.
The Elixir of Life is a potion. Horace Slughorn is the saga's most gifted potion-maker. He is a long-term associate of Dumbledore, and preoccupied with quality of life. Logical leap: Slughorn mixed the Elixir and also enjoyed a taste. Horace later shared with one wealthy friend, Ron's 107-year-old great-aunt Muriel, a contemporary of Slughorn's who shares his appreciation for fine things.
When the Philosopher's Stone is destroyed at the end of Book One, Dumbledore signs his own death warrant. He cannot reach for the Elixir to continue the fight against Voldemort. He is reassuring himself, not only talking about the Flamels, when he says:
>"To the well-organised mind, death is but the next great adventure."
He spends the next few years planning for his inevitable passing.
Bonus theory! Apparition instructor Wilkie Twycross is described as oddly colourless, with transparent eyelashes, wispy hair, and an insubstantial air, as though a single gust of wind might blow him away β presumably from too much Apparating and Disapparating. Sustained consumption of the Elixir of Life has a similar effect, hence its limited use by Dumbledore and pals.
SPOILERS FOR THE DEATHLY HALLOWS
Iβve seen an outpouring of JKR posts recently and it got me thinking about this.
I remember when JKR casually said Dumbles was gay and had a relationship with Grindelwald and I was like WHOA HOW FORWARD-THINKING. But those details were conveniently left out of the books. Barely implied and, while it could have been read in, there was no clear hint to it (let alone express references).
If one reads in, the reason Dumbles took so long to fight Grindelwald was because he had once loved him. I counter that by saying that the book expressly provides a reason: Dumbles was ashamed because of what happened to his sister as a result of his friendship with Grindelwald. Dumbles was ashamed of how blinded he was by ambition and how dark his dreams were.
Bestiality, however, which had no impact on the story, was heavily implied.
Bonus points if both parties take a while to realize that no dimensional travel has occurred.
Its not mentioned in the fanon but I do believe that it could be. Dumbledore grew up with lofty ideals and shaping the world. Imagine contributing to a dark lord who murdered families across Europe and (maybe) helped Hitler.
I think the key difference between Grindlewald and Dumbledore was of thoughts vs. action. Dumbledore could not take action to what he may have believed (magical race should be superior?).
But Dumbledore changed his course when he realized the foolishness (??) of his actions. He defeated his friend (frenemy) and redeemed himself.
I think this is why Dumbledore may believe in second chances. He sees how youth can be brash, naΓ―ve and murderous. But also, that people can be better when they realize this and learn from their experience. E.g., Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy.
Anyone else think the legendary actor that was Gene Wilder could have portrayed a perfect Dumbledore. His portrayal of Willy Wonka in the 1971 movie is so similar to how one would need to be in order to play Dumbledore, that witty, charming, twinkly and slightly mad persona as well as an underlying darkness, mystery and power all wrapped up to make an almost ageless genius.
Instead of letting Draco Malfoy accidentally almost kill his students, or letting Umbridge give out those decrees or letting Fudge badmouth Harry, etc. Dumbledore decides to do something about it all.
For those not in the know, I'm basically hinting that Harry Potter ended up in Neverland, most famously from Disney's Peter Pan.
I now can't help but wonder if Vernon Dursley as Hook would be appropriate, given how the casting for Captain Hook and the Darlings' father typically goes.
##Edit *Second Star to the right. Oops.
They also try and say stuff like him, and hand out sweets like crazy.
A few of them even got rubber chickens and painted them orange.
Albus Dumbledore watched the man in front of him, and the man watched back.
βGellert,β he said.
βAlbus,β said Gellert Grindelwald. They stared at each other, both unmoving.
βYou look well,β Albus said, eventually. Gellert tossed his head back and laughed.
βWell,β Gellert chuckled. βYes, Albus, I suppose I look well. One certainly gains life after being locked up by his former lover, ja?β Albusβs face was unreadable. βA decade since we last conversed freelyβby owl, nonetheless. Half a century since we last saw each other without the threat of imminent death. You threw me in here, and only saw fit to visit a year later.β He motioned around wildly. It was a desolate placeβwindowless, barely large enough to fit a bed, depressingly grey. βI admit, Albus, as easy as you make it to despise youβI am intrigued.β
How was it, Albus wondered, that it had been half a centuryβand Gellertβs voice hadnβt changed? His English had always been perfect, his accent had always been charming, and his sentences had always managed to provoke and attack with each word. His very nature was alluring; Albus couldnβt say if he was glad that it hadnβt changed.
βI must apologize,β said Albus, tipping his head. βThere has been much to do. I would have visited earlier if I could.β Gellert snorted, shaking his head with amazement.
βMuch to do, of course. Busy locking up my GefolgsmΓ€nner? Obliviating your Muggles? I read the papers, Albus. Oh, how they must love you! The path to benevolence and greatness, led by the humble Albus Dumbledore. My dear Albus, tell me: did it come up in the trials that you once lounged about, tracing your tongue all over my body? Did you mention the time after time we fucked in the grass? As my Lieblings were sent to their deaths for faithfully calling me their leader, did you mention that you once called me your lover? That you were more than a Liebling yourselfβmy Liebster.β Albusβs face darkened, and Gellert smiled widely.
βHow relieved I am,β said Albus coldly, βto reunite with your arrogance. No, Gellert, you are wrong. I ask myself every day: how could I once have been obsessed with a man so self-assured, with the rest of the world hidden to his eyes? You lost, Gellert. You lost, and youβre forever wrong.β Gellert leaned forward, gazing with scrutiny.
βThen why,β asked Gellert softly, βare you still obsessed with me?β Neither wizard moved for a while.
Suddenly, Gellert leaned back, shaking his head. βNein,β he said. βI will not do th

I found the first four chapters from a post in another subreddit, but naturally it's the last and best written chapter (Chapter 5) that I can't find. It use to be in Bing Cache but the link is no longer working :(
I'm hoping someone has a working link, a copy on their pc, or knows of a secret corner of the internet where the best deleted fanfics go lol Any help is greatly appreciated!

Broken chapter 5 link in Bing Cache:
Summary: Albus Dumbledore has to attend a disciplinary hearing for withholding invaluable information about Gellert Grindelwald, deliberate misdirection, and performing a blood pact with the person who currently represents the biggest threat to the wizard community. Unknowingly, he takes Veritaserum before.
βWHen a muggle acts with gallantry and distinction, and thereby saves a wizard at considerable risk to himself,β the citation read, βIt is customary to recognize said muggle with a special award for services to wizardkind. Let him henceforth be known as a de facto wizard for all purposes, and an exception made in the statute of secrecy forthwith.β
This idea came to me recentlyβwe have medals for all kinds of things, so perhaps wizards would have one for muggles they want to recognize with distinction. I can imagine purebloods raising a fuss over the fact a muggle didnβt know he was saving a wizard, and so forth.
I also like to think that if a muggle were honored with such an award, they would be pretty much as close as someone can to wizard status without actually being a squib, so to speak. I imagine it might be kind of overwhelming for them, especially if the circumstances were what a muggle might consider ordinary.
Feel free to have at this in any way that you see fit :) Of course, muggles might get this award for all kinds of things, saving Harry just seemed an obvious example. Saving him from what? I have no idea :)
I personally think that he is manipulative and the reason a lot of amazing characters died.
Friendship Beyond the Classroom
By Minerva McGonagall
I have known Albus Dumbledore for 35 years. He is unwaveringly kind, humorous, and intelligent. He is the Headmaster of Hogwarts, whilst I am the Deputy Headmistress. We started out as nothing more than young professors. He had been teaching for 20 years by the time I joined the faculty. I have cherished his friendship through the years. Over time, he became more than a coworker to me. He became the man I talked to in the staffroom at breaks. He became the man I walked the grounds of the castle with, talking about the latest in Transfiguration and Defense Against the Darks Arts research.
He became the man who could answer all my questions, and answered them honestly. He became my mentor, who taught me the indescribable skill of truly connecting with students. He also took it upon himself to show me the ropes of Hogwarts, rather than leaving me to fend for myself. He saw something in me that I did not see for myself: Potential.
He knew I was brilliant and just as academic as him. But I was a lowly professor, and a woman with nothing to my name. I grew up in the Scottish countryside. Until I met Albus, I had only read about magical discoveries in the paper, and dreamed of doing that work myself one day. I never had the resources to do it until I begun working at Hogwarts.
He put me in touch with some of the greatest minds of the day, and for those experiences, I will be forever grateful. I still remember the passionate academic conversation I had talking in my office over tea with Albus and Emeric Switch. We talked for hours, long after the tea had been drunk.
Albus and I were close friends by the time I was promoted to Head of the Transfiguration Department at Hogwarts. He was in the front row of my promotion ceremony. I do sometimes wonder if I owe everything to him. But I know what he would say to that: βMinerva, youβre brilliant in your own right.β He would say that I never really needed his help. He said that he always found some excuse to talk to me just because he enjoyed having a fellow Transfiguration enthusiast to chat with. At first, I was surprised he considered me an intelligent equal. But somehow, talking to him made me realize, that I was in fact, intelligent and his equal. I could hold my own in conversation and debate, and he admired me for it.
Beyond an academic friendship, we developed a social one as well. I am proud to say that Dumbledore had so much faith and t

Harry sits alone in the tent entrance, thinking over the loss of his wand. He tucks the broken halves of the wand inside the pouch given to him by Hagrid. Hermione comes out to sit with him, bringing a copy of Rita Skeeterβs book βThe Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledoreβ with her that she found in Bathildaβs house. Harry thanks Hermione for getting them out of Godricβs Hollow alive and then returns to the book. He rifles through the book to find the photo of the thief, and learns that it was Grindelwald.
He returns to the beginning of the chapter the photo is in and begins to read. He learns a slanted version of events, with Kendraβs death preventing Dumbledore from taking a trip around the world with Elphias Doge and forcing him to return to Godricβs Hollow to care for his siblings Aberforth and Arianna. Harry learns that while in Godricβs Hollow, Dumbledore struck up a friendship with Grindelwald, who was apparently Bagshotβs great-nephew.
The two spent much of a summer communicating, with the book containing a letter written between the two wizards about a potential plot to take over the world, and not just the wizarding world, the muggle side of things as well, and that only the force that is necessary must be used in the uprising. But the friendship did not last particularly long, as Grindelwald fled the country after Ariannaβs death and Dumbledore and Grindelwald did not meet again until the two fought their legendary duel.
Harry and Hermione finish reading the chapter and have a short discussion, with Harry waving aside Hermioneβs attempts to rationalize the Dumbledore Harry and Hermione had previously known with the one portrayed in Ritaβs book. Harry waves Hermione off and she goes back into the tent, leaving Harry worse off than when she had come out.
Thoughts
Boy was this a tough chapter to read when I was first reading through the books. Hearing that Dumbledore was not always the defender of the innocent that he was to the reader through the first six books is tough to handle.
That being said, while itβs a slanted and incomplete view of Dumbledoreβs history, itβs also the kind of reconciling that people in our world have had to do for years, where someone who previously looked good turned out to have a bit of a dark side. Or when views on certain past actions have changed and they look worse in retrospect.
What happened to Dumbledore here is actually a pretty decent insight/parallel into what it can be like for a you
fics that are like where after dumbles dies, harry gets kinda sad or breaks down, but then ginny is there to comfort him, and then the like talk and cuddle and do stuff. (optional) after that they bring ginny with them in the horcrux hunt.
