A list of puns related to "Agricultural Soil Science"
Hi, I'm a sophomore studying for a b.s. in environmental management, with a focus in wildlife biology/conservation, which is mainly what I focus on. I took a soil science class and I thought it was interesting, and now I'm thinking about doing a minor in soil science, and I was wondering if it would be worth it since I don't really want to work on farms and stuff. Are there many jobs out there that focus on conserving soil in the wild and things of that nature? It doesn't have to involve animals or plants too much either, habitat restoration and stuff would be cool too.
Hello all, Could I please get some suggestions for books on plant science, soil science, sustainable agriculture, and horticulture? I recently graduated with a BS in environmental science and Iβm still hungry for more knowledge in my field. I am interested in pretty much anything that has to do with the topics I listed and beyond. I have done some research on the internet but there are so many to choose from I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. Thank you!
Hi all! I just started my degree in soil and water sciences. Course list can be found here. Iβm studying in Israel but Iβm American and I want to be marketable in both the US and Israel. Iβm hoping for some advice on which skills are most important to focus on in terms of career development, how I can search for internships and where considering that my university isnβt very helpful with thatβand is also located in Israel. I would like to have internships during my summers visiting home in SoCal, or in various locations.
I am currently checking out an opportunity to work in a lab in my department on campus, so hopefully that pans out.
I also have the option to minor in environmental science with the following courses , however this means I wouldnβt be able to choose almost any of my courses and I wonder if it means knowing less about soil and water as the environmental courses take the place of usual courses, and whether that would be an advantage or a disadvantage. The βenvironmental scienceβ would be on my diploma. I am very interested in the effects of agriculture on the environment and vice versa.
I would also love to know what redditors in the ag field have done with their degrees. Especially interested in hydrology and water management/irrigation. Lastly, is my university a known one in the field?
Thank you for your time!
Is there much demand from NGOs for agricultural science graduates?
I want to work overseas with communities that could benefit from agricultural knowledge, I've almost completed my degree. This is a far cry from what I initially wanted to do when I began my degree, but as time has gone on I've realized that the skills and knowledge I have gained are gold especially for less developed communities that maybe don't have access to such information.
Has anyone done this and want to impart their experiences onto me?
I'm especially interested in the economics, sustainable agriculture and the tech side of agriculture
