Jacobian to Affine coordinates

B is the base point on the secp256k1 curve.

> B = (55066263022277343669578718895168534326250603453777594175500187360389116729240, 32670510020758816978083085130507043184471273380659243275938904335757337482424)

B in jacobian is the same but Z = 1.

Now I do point doubling on B.

> C = (11129334817936438615156540538031600169668540492941222794309052386982624556112, 5929529137555047551104942180326487943824912546750251148409443946671446785881, 109190500074905412137678603254478706453141622139702147044039155107286148956845)

This is in Jacobian (C = (X, Y, Z)). To convert to affine, (X/Z^2, Y/Z^3 ). I get

> D = (39636445745638974844477591046548211899128718840077207533313331800309779563054, 4677976307481789152751198548375513855233712845458120542920566064284286540790)

But using a programming library, I get

> E = (89565891926547004231252920425935692360644145829622209833684329913297188986597, 12158399299693830322967808612713398636155367887041628176798871954788371653930)

What am I doing wrong? I calculated X/Z^2 by multiplying X with the inverse modulo of Z (where p = 115792089237316195423570985008687907853269984665640564039457584007908834671663) raised to the power of 2.

Follow up re: homogenous coordinates, affine transformation and camera matrix.

First, here are the texts I am working from:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_projection#Perspective_projection http://www.cs.uns.edu.ar/cg/clasespdf/p465carlbom.pdf (dense but helpful) http://www.cim.mcgill.ca/~langer/557/lecture4.pdf

What happens in a lot of these texts is that they simplify, for example putting the camera at (0,0,0) to help you out - and that's what's messing me up! I have my 3d transforms with affines worked out quite nicely, it's the final 'camera' transform that seems muddy, because I do want to move the camera about/change directions.

First, I apply the translation to move to the camera's frame of reference, with the camera at Cx,Cy,Cz

[; \left( \begin{array}{cccc}1 & 0 & 0 & -Cx \\0 & 1 & 0 & -Cy \\0 & 0 & 1 & -Cz \\ 0 & 0 & 0 & 1 \end{array} \right) ;]

Then I apply my rotations, given in the form Rz("yaw") * Ry("pitch") * Rx("Roll"). (matrix multiplications)

When I graph this in scatterplot3d in R, I can see that modifying the yaw, pitch and roll between each plot modifies the location of the box relative to the 'center' (which is now the camera) - this corresponds to camera rolls in the different directions.

The problem I'm having is applying the camera perspective. The wikipedia article mentions using [Ex,Ey,Ez] which is "the viewer's position relative to the display surface" but I'm having a hard time understanding what values go there. As a result, my cube which I am using to test become twisted in the center. If my cube with corners (1,1,1) etc is viewed from a camera at [; \left( -\sqrt 2,0,0 \right) ;] (just outside the cube - this will make a sphere of radius 1 map to exactly 90 degrees). What values should [Ex,Ey and Ez] be?

The affine transformation I am using to do the camera perspective is to multiply by:

[; \left( \begin{array}{cccc}1 & 0 & -Ex/Ez & 0 \\0 & 1 & -Ey/Ez & 0 \\0 & 0 & 1 & 0 \\ 0 & 0 & 1/Ez & 0 \end{array} \right) ;]

At that point, each coordinate point given is equivalent to [fx,fy, z, fw] and to get the projection, I should divide each one by the homogenous coordinate. However, as far as I can tell, the results of my transformations still left the homogenous component as '1' -> so I'm only ever getting the XY projection, which maps onto a square, not projection.

edit: I've modified my camera projection to

Metal‐Templated Design of Chemically Switchable Protein Assemblies with High‐Affinity Coordination Sites

A metal‐template‐based protein design strategy was used to generate a series of trimeric protein assemblies with chemically tunable self‐assembly properties and a rare hexa‐histidine coordination motif that can accommodate all mid‐to‐late first‐row transition metal ions with high affinity, including MnII, with nanomolar dissociation constants.

Abstract

To mimic a hypothetical pathway for protein evolution, we previously tailored a monomeric protein (cyt cb562) for metal‐mediated self‐assembly, followed by re‐design of the resulting oligomers for enhanced stability and metal‐based functions. We show that a single hydrophobic mutation on the cyt cb562 surface drastically alters the outcome of metal‐directed oligomerization to yield a new trimeric architecture, (TriCyt1)3. This nascent trimer was redesigned into second and third‐generation variants (TriCyt2)3 and (TriCyt3)3 with increased structural stability and preorganization for metal coordination. The three TriCyt variants combined furnish a unique platform to 1) provide tunable coupling between protein quaternary structure and metal coordination, 2) enable the construction of metal/pH‐switchable protein oligomerization motifs, and 3) generate a robust metal coordination site that can coordinate all mid‐to‐late first‐row transition‐metal ions with high affinity.

Hello reddit!

I wonder if theres a way to make an introductory course in commutative algebra for school kids in my local math school for gifted kids. I'm reading Atya & McDonald book and having a great time, I'm sure these kids are able to understand first few chapters. But this book is kind of dry and I i would like to add some connections to other areas of math and some applications. So my question is: where can i find these connections and applications that do not rely on very advanced math?

[Weekly] What Makes a Titan a Titan?

In the tradition of previous posts, let's take a break from the current speculation and arguments and take a look back at just who the guardians are, this time looking at Titans. I've always thought of Titans as a steroetype played straight and not especially interesting, but the more I looked into it, the more depth there was beneath those gigantic shoulder pauldrons.

Stereotypes: First off, we'll get this out of the way. Titans are stereotyped as big, lumbering, dour-faced, fatalistic, crayon-eating idiots who hit things with their face as often as their fists. The antics of the titans in Lion's Pride don't exactly help their case. While this is certainly true of some, these stereotypes are primarily due to casual misunderstanding of Titans and their values, and are occasionally deliberately played up to hide what a Titan is feeling. Titans don't appreciate these stereotypes, grumbling that "We're not all punch-crazed lunks" (Legion-Bane), and wondering why people simply assume they are not clever (Ithacan Type 0).

Adults in the Room: Perhaps the best place to start with understanding Titans is that they see themselves as the adults in the room. This is not (usually) a dig against other guardians, either. They respect that every guardian's first act is to defend a home they have not yet known (Mark of the Far-Flung). It is more akin to Titans choosing to stay home and watch the children while the hunters and warlocks go out to have a good time. Warlocks and Hunters may save the universe, but it is the Titan's that watch the doors in the night, creating a safe space for weary wanderers, and yes, even hunters and warlocks, to find rest (Mark of Passage).

Relationship with the City: This sense of responsibility manifests itself most clearly in the Titans' relationship with the Last City. To Titans, it is their two arms that are the City's defenses (Taroudant Type 0), their footprints the outermost walls ([Taroudant Type 0](https://www.ishtar-co

The Life of Ted Kaczynski (the Unabomber) & Preventing The Fascist Creep

Hey all, I'm working on topic ideas for a podcast episode on the life of Ted Kaczynski (the Unabomber) that aims to be a harsh critique of him and the eco-fascists he has inspired. If you have anything you'd like to add just let me know. You can also comment directly on the google doc:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HgZpVe0XrMOv_ofwSRS3T-qVQ8NgVjZ-CW2Q1UuCnxs/

Intro

Ted Kaczynski is the Unabomber, a homegrown terrorist who over the course of 17 years planted or mailed at least 16 bombs. He killed 3 people and wounded 24. He wasn’t a religious fundamentalist, but he was a fundamentalist. His enemy was, essentially, modern society. He grew up in Chicago, attended Harvard, but he wound up living alone in a remote cabin in the Montana woods. He was arrested in 1996 after one of the most notorious and longest manhunts in history, and he was sentenced to life in prison.

Some key life moments

Separation From Parents As A Baby

A week in the hospital as a baby where he wasn't allowed to see his parents at all for nurses being understaffed and not wanting parents to be in the way. And taking a long time to trust his parents again and be receptive to them.

Loneliness After Being Moved Forward A Year At School

Being moved forward a year at school and then getting into university another year early on top of that, so struggling to make friends at school.

Psych Experiments For The CIA

Being part of Harvard psychology experiments with professors who worked with the CIA, where the professors' objective was to humiliate the student for the philosophy they held as most important to them.

Sex Change Plans & First Desire To Kill (A Psychiatrist)

Confusion about whether he wanted a sex change operation, in order to explore desires for women which he hadn't had the space to learn to understand. Which when he changed his mind, turned into hateful resentment for a society that he felt had made him confused and depressed.

Then a desire to carefully plan his murders and pick targets he thought some people would intellectually admire him for picking, as in his eyes the evilest people deserving of fighting a guerrilla war against. Could be seen as a way of getting the validation he didn’t get from friends as a child on his own terms, for being special and intelligent enough to have discovered all these connections and go after the worst offender

Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.

Account Giveaway

I recently posted why I was leaving Raid and several folks reached out asking if I was serious and, if so, what I was planning on doing with the account. I’m serious as serious gets - and I’ve concocted a grand game to give back to the community in my own, strange, way.

ENTER: The Grand Final Awesome-Possum Haiku Raid Account Giveaway!

To enter, all you have to do is respond to this post with a Haiku explaining why you should be given the account! Proper Haiku format must be adhered to, notably a 5-7-5 syllable count with a reference to a season. I will select a winner this Friday, post the winner and message them to set up the transfer. This contest is not random, all entries do not have the same chance of winning - this is a battle of minds that will be won by the best entry as determined by my own highly subjective opinion.

Account details:

https://imgur.com/gallery/VLmq7Pd

I’m not in a clan right now but my clan boss team is a Double Maneater Turvold+Farakhan the Fat Man+Skullcrusher Unkillable comp. It is all affinity 2-key UNM friendly and tends to put out around 50mil per key. Check out Deadwood Jedi’s site for details on how it works.

All dungeons at 20, some up to 25. <5k gems to drive the account in whatever direction you decide. Arena team is fully capable if hanging out in Gold IV.

I rage pulled all my shards my last day of play, so no goodies there.

Looking forward to your submissions!

Luck runs over all, as rain under rumbling clouds, unless you’re just wet.

xxxxx ------ xxxxxx

Thank you all for your participation! Some of these brought great, and others poor, memories of a game I played for almost a year. There were some hidden gems in these that unfortunately didn't meet the 5-7-5 syllable and reference to season requirements to be considered for winning. I also realized I didn't limit submissions to one per, so kudos to those of you who took multiple swipes.

Without further adieu, the winner for best haiku is @wise-doughnut-3206 with the following submission:

I pull for my hubs Venus, Duchess, Astralon He gets me trash rares.

First, I empathize - I tapped my wife and daughter multiple times for some extra luck and their sessions were the WORST - blue seas for days. Second, I enjoyed considering how Venus and Astralon provide a window into seasonality, given the God Venus' ties to fertility (a seasonal cycle) and Astralons pun towards astrology which is also seasonal and cyclic.

Potential new bass player

Hello bass players of reddit,

I have just recently gotten my hands on an electric bass while hanging out at a friends house and in kind of fell in love. I have always enjoyed the bass, its sound and its role in a band. Though I have never been particularly musical, I can kind of sing, and play piano, albeit not very well as I am bad I sight reading (though my hand I coordination is good). He taught me some stuff and I picked up on notes, frets, tabs etc. fairly quickly. This inspired me to want to get a base. However, there are obviously a lot of options and its a bit confusing. I've done some research and it seems that the Ibanez SR300E is good for beginners and isn't terribly expensive. Along with the Fender Rumble 25 amp. But recently I've questioned my choice, and here I am.

Some things that I want:

 • Versatile, different sounds, though I'm am not the biggest fan of jazz so keep that in mind(one of the reasons I chose the Sr300 vs like a Squire Affinity P/J).
 • I'd prefer to have a small amp, not really sure how to describe them, similar to the guitar "orange" amps. Not looking for anything super loud just to practice in a room with, and maybe play something with friends. I know the Rumble 25 is bigger, hence why I am here.
 • With amp, and kind of the instrument, I can't stand the hum of single coils, which is why I'm questioning the SR300, and its tap and power tap modes. Again, I'm a complete novice so shielding would make me nervous to do, and I don't want a noise gate because it can cut off the sound.
 • Price, budget is around $500. I can make exceptions, but nothing high over that. With the SR300 that leaves 150 for an amp and accessories (though the accessories I can go slightly over budget with)

Any advice, on what to get, what I've picked and advice for a potential bassist would be much appreciated, remember a lot of the terms are still a bit foreign to me, so if it's something specific feel free to define it. Thank you!

Update 29.10.0: Corpus Proxima & The New Railjack

27b022679646e8762c8d627b890f0987.png

Corpus Railjack has arrived, Tenno. As we continue down our “ship what we’ve shown” path, we’ve finally arrived at Corpus Proxima! While reviewing the current state of Railjack as we worked on Corpus Proxima, we knew we needed to rework what we had in addition to adding new content. Introducing: Railjack Retrofit! Our initial 2019 Empyrean venture was a daring leap into space, but as we aimed for Lua there were some missteps. Our initial vision to provide a fresh new gameplay experience progressed into being overly complicated with an unnecessarily high barrier to entry. This Corpus Proxima & The New Railjack Update aims to simplify the Railjack experience for new and returning players. We encourage you to take your time as you dive back in - a lot has changed! And if you’re new to Railjack, welcome. It’s the perfect time to start.

As you’ve probably guessed, Corpus Proxima & The New Railjack is a Mainline Update! In usual Mainline fashion, some unreleased things may slip through the cracks and potentially cause some bumps. Please let us know if you spot anything by reporting in our threads!

You’ll be able to report feedback (or bugs) here:

<https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1253287-update-29100-bug-hunting-megathread-read-first-post/>

Or, take a birds-eye-view look in our new Update board: <https://trello.com/b/K34ACrAu/pc-update-29100-bug-feedback-tracking>

CORPUS PROXIMA:
The Corpus Railjack Update is here! This Update brings you a full Corpus Railjack experience with brand new regions and Points of Interest to explore.

New Corpus Proxima Regions

Robots and Crewmen are taking to the skies and have greatly expanded the Proxima Star Chart - three new planets (Venus, Neptune and Pluto Proxima) will introduce new enemies, new Points of Interest and more. There will also be the most difficult missions for Corpus Railjack added to the Veil Proxima.

Welcome to the apesurgency

Gather 'round, fellow apes. Time to grind some int/wis and maybe add a wrinkle.

This is me trying to refine the thought-blob I was clumping together in my previous post on the Apesurgency. This will be shorter.

The Culture War Reimagined

"Culture War" has become so loaded a term, that it's really only useful in clarifying what the hell I'm talking about. Older apes might think of culture wars of the 80's and 90's, very heavily centered around orthodox protestant Christian teachings - and whether or not they should legally influence or society (be it the teaching oof creation/evolution, abortion rights, or the social and legal treatment of homosexuals). Even older apes might recall the Vietnam war and counter-cultural revolution of the late 60's and early 70's. Millennial apes might think in of it terms of the Ron Paul Revolution (read the italics backwards) or Occupy. Younger apes might see everything in terms of social media vs. rl or BLM vs. the Proud Boys.

The point is that while the 'two tribes' tended to stick together across these very different frames of reference, the blocs are disintegrating. Quick timeout to plug one of the most insightful pieces of internet ethnography I've ever read, The Memetic Tribes of culture War 2.0 (multiple wrinkles to be gained here). This document, almost 3 years old now, surveys the (then) emerging multidimensional affinity tribes. This exposé shattered the illusion of a left-right one dimensional spectrum of political thought/identity. They describe a multipolar landscape of tribal allegiance, calling out 33 distinct tribes.

I don't know if we've already transitioned to Culture War 3.0, or this is just the maturation of 2.0. In either case, we've now shifted from a multipolar tribal world to a fully multi-dimensional one. By which I mean that any of us can be 'members' of any number of tribes at the same time. We have varied interests, concerns, and passions as individuals.^1 But we've always had multiple avatars/handles/identities online. What's different this time around is that people who belong to opposing tribes on one d

From my son's bedroom, I hear him shout, "Hi Hungry! Nice to meet you!"

Respect Alan Scott, the Green Lantern (Post-Crisis)

##And I shall shed my light over dark evil, for the dark things cannot stand the light. The light of … THE GREEN LANTERN!

#Respect Alan Scott, the First Green Lantern!

Into the humdrum reality of everyday life into a world harassed by crime. There comes a fantastic being with strange supernatural powers, a being determined to stamp out evil and bring justice where it has never been before. This man is called ... the Green Lantern!

Thousands of years ago, a mystical "green flame" fell to Earth in ancient China as a meteor. A lamp-maker came across the fallen meteor and forged the green metal into a lamp. In fear and as punishment for what they thought sacrilege, the local villagers killed him, only to be destroyed by a sudden burst of the green flame.

Hundreds of years later in modern times, the lamp came into the hands of a patient of a mental institution who fashioned the lamp into a modern train lantern. The green flame restored his sanity and gave him a new life. By 1940, the lantern fashioned from the meteoric metal fell into the hands of Alan Scott, a young railroad engineer. Following a horrible train wreck, the flame instructs Scott in how to fashion a ring from its metal, to give him fantastic powers as the superhero Green Lantern. He adopts a colorful costume of red, purple, brown, yellow, and green and becomes a crimefighter in his first adventure, defeating the crooks who caused the accident.

#The Starheart

Unlike the Lantern Rings of others such as Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner, Alan is powered by the Starheart. The Starheart is the collective of magic gathered and banished by the Oans throughout the cosmos in an attempt to be rid of magic and chaos from the universe, grown sentient and crashed on Earth. Alan shapes this magical force with his will to create constructs, manipulate forces such as time and space, use telepathy and more.

Exposed! Euphemisms Used by Crooks and Organizations to Cover Up Their Fuckery

What’s the difference between a crooked financier and a mobster? What’s the difference between a legitimate organization and the mafia? Sometimes it’s just in the phrasing. Words matter. Here is a handy dandy translational guide that demystifies socially accepted terminology using mafioso lingo. Enjoy!

BTW, I took a lot of these terms euphemisms right from the SEC website……

TL:DR Don’t let seemingly legit people, organizations, or government try to tell you that things are too complicated. If they can’t ELIA then they are full of shit!

AutoCAD tutorials for GIS users?

It seems that knowing AutoCAD is mandatory for most of municipal positions or any applications related to maintenance of infrastructure.

Where can one learn AutoCAD effectively for GIS-related applications?

Most tutorials online are either strictly about AutoCAD for engineering or just explain how to import/export data to/from GIS environment.

Steam Link FAQ (Includes Adding Epic,Origin,UPlay, & Game Pass Games)

Hey all, I decided to compile a few frequently asked questions/instructions here so that it’s easier to find and point people to. There are many different ways to accomplish what I am going to describe here, this is just the most basic, manual method of getting things set up.

Adding Non Steam Games/Programs to Steam

In order to stream games and programs not from the steam store via Steam Link, it is best to add them to steam as Non-Steam games for full functionality

https://preview.redd.it/v91kt4qjov271.png?width=410&format=png&auto=webp&s=9555ed2492738a60942f88ab51a73303225f2c3d

For non-DRM games or emulators, you can add these games directly from this window.

https://preview.redd.it/kl0d6qvoov271.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=b87a695f2741da53506431fac128b1831d278b96

But if you want to have separate controller configurations for each emulated game, you should follow the instructions later in the guide to add each emulated game instead of the emulator itself.

If you’re adding a game from another launcher/store(Epic, Origin, Uplay) with DRM (which most games have, except those from GOG), you’ll need to use one of two programs to coordinate opening the launcher, starting the game, and getting steam to hook into the game process instead of the launcher, then closing the launcher when it’s no longer needed. There are 2 programs that I recommend to accomplish this, they are OSOL and GloSC.

OSOL & GLoSC

These programs handle the coordination in different ways, and I recommend each for different things. While OSOL opens the launcher, launches the game, focuses steam on the game process, and then closes the launcher when the game process exits, GloSC opens the game normally but instead of Steam hooking into the game process directly, it hooks into a transparent window created by GloSC.

For Origin, Epic, Uplay, and Battle.net games I recommend using OSOL since it tends to perform the best in cases when the process can be hooked into. For Windows Store games I recommend GloSC since UWP apps cannot be hooked into, so OSOL will not work. In addition, there are a few cases where games will prevent processes from hooking into them (rejecting the Steam Overlay, and thereby Steam Input) so GloSC is the only alternative in these cases as well.

Configuring OSOL

OSOL can be downloaded from [https://github.com/WombatFromHell/OriginSteamOverlayLauncher/releases](https://github.com/WombatFromHell/OriginSteamOverla

Through computational and rational redesign, this nascent trimer is converted into second and third‐generation variants (TriCyt2)3 and (TriCyt3)3 with increased structural stability and preorganization for metal coordination. The three TriCyt variants combined furnish a unique design platform to a) provide tunable coupling between protein quaternary structure and metal coordination, b) enable the construction of metal/pH‐switchable protein oligomerization motifs, and c) generate a robust metal coordination site that can accommodate all mid‐to‐late first‐row transition metal ions with high affinity, including Mn(II) with nanomolar dissociation constants, rivaling those of the strongest Mn(II)‐binding protein, calprotectin.

Could be seen as a way of getting the validation he didn’t get from friends as a child on his own terms, for being special and intelligent enough to have discovered all these connections and go after the worst offenders.

Railjack Feedback in light of Devstream 153

They talked around a few issues, but didn't really get into the core what what I've been seeing in these threads about what actually feels bad. Things that I'm really worried that they are going to be hard stuck on and not change.

##Affinity: Leeches Win (Again)

 • Pilot is robbed for generating affinity
 • Affinity gain from your kills while using the Railjack are sent 100% to the Plexus — this seems inconsistent with Scott's explanation because usually the split is 50% weapon 50% warframe
 • Affinity gain from other player kills while you are using the Railjack are split 25% warframe and 75% Plexus
 • Affinity gain from leeching and AFKing on railjack is split 25% warframe and 75% all weapons equipped — the Plexus is included in that 75% split
 • Affinity gain for companions is 0 if you kill while using the Railjack, 100% if you are leeching
 • Objectives providing affinity is a great improvement (finally, crewships give affinity!), though underwhelming for time spent in the overall mission
 • A Grineer Veil Proxima mission has 6 crew ships which generate 5k radial affinity each for a whopping 30k per mission. Plus a bit more from the 'Priority Target(s)' objective completion
 • Players no longer have a reasonable option for leveling companions / amps. Leeching is once again the best and only real option

I won't try to make the argument that things should be back to pre-update Gian Point levels of fast. I wish that were the case, and I took full advantage of it while it was around, but if it's the intention is to rebalance and slow things back down they really should try to fix this leeching problem. Preferably in a way that benefits all players rather than further divorcing affinity gains from railjack. It felt like an earned convenience before. Now it just feels... bad.

I strongly think that the Plexus should NOT be assigned to the weapon category for generating affinity. I strongly think that some affinity from player kills on fighters should be treated as radial affinity generated for all crew equally, not different based on if you're in a chair or not.

##Tugboat Only Gameplay

 • The Railjack component of Corpus Proxima feels like a prelude to an actual mission. It's not as bad as the Scarlet Spear which was really just a tugboat to get from A to B, but still doesn't really feel great
 • Scott's explanation on AI limits made sense in terms of why they couldn't have the simultaneous gameplay, but doesn't really offer much insight as to why th
